As a fellow Canadian, I’ve always been so proud of this man right here . He was blessed with the most beautiful hair and voice. I’ve seen him in concert 4 times. He’s still going strong. You have to listen to “Wheels of Life” from the same album. Plus you should react to “People Gotta Move” and “Living Inside Myself!” Montreal’s Gino Vannelli!
and he is still performing. i found this beautiful tribute ballad he wrote for his diseased wife about a year ago. It's rare to hear such stunning lyric and music these days. GINO VANNELLI, EVERMORE (Official Music Video).
Oh my my ! You finally found Gino ! I had the biggest crush on this gorgeous man. He definitely belongs in the PDC . And to top it off he has a wonderful, sexy voice ❤ Thanks for the reaction , you made my night Britt 🌙
I just found your channel. Music back in the 70s was so lush and heartfelt. (I got to listen to it on the radio!) This has always been one of my favorite songs.
Gino still tours. I saw him in Austin TX. in 2022. His voice has changed with age, as most singers, the high notes are not as high as in the past but he still sings great! His band is excellent with a full horn section. His heyday was between 1975-1986. I go to his concerts when he comes to my area of Texas.
I've heard that when he's not touring these days, he teaches music in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. Nice that he's still involved with it in some way, no matter what he's doing.
Wikipedia-Vannelli was born to an Italian family in Montreal, Quebec. His father, (Joseph) Russ Vannelli, sang with the Montreal dance bands of trumpeters Bix Belair and Maynard Ferguson. His early ambition was to be a drummer. He admired Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich, and he played drums in a pop band while he was in high school. In 1969, at the age of seventeen, he signed a contract with RCA Records, using the name Vann Elli. He studied music theory at McGill University in Montreal. Vannelli and his brother, Joe, moved to Los Angeles in 1972. Desperate and broke, they waited for hours in the parking lot outside A&M Studios, hoping to get a record deal. When Herb Alpert, the co-owner of A&M Records, finally emerged, Vannelli ran toward him and gave him a demo tape while being chased by security guards. Alpert signed Vannelli and released his debut album, Crazy Life, in the summer of 1973. Vannelli was one of the first Caucasians (Dennis Coffey being the very first in January 1972) to appear on the television dance program Soul Train. In 1974, he was invited to tour with Stevie Wonder. That same year, he released his second album, Powerful People, which contained his first major hit, “People Gotta Move”.
I was already doing dirty dancing in my kitchen. Then, you added the “Stop and rainfall” choreography to go with it! Girl, I was ready for Soul Train by the end of the video! Thanks, that was so fun.🤩
Very nice choice. Been waiting for you to discover Gino. Wild Horses and Black Cars are worth a view imo. He has several more I think. Doug and the Slugs. Ever heard of them? Making It Work is fun as any song. 😊
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Wait to you hear - Brother to Brother, People Gotta Move, One Night w/You, Appaloosa, Feel Like Flying, Seek and You Will Find, Put The Weight On My Shoulders, Hurts to Be in Love, Young Love and so many others. This man is the posterchild for underrated artists.
Britt I just want you to know that I did the dance move as requested. Gino only had one other hit here in the states calling Living Inside Myself which is definitely worth a listen. He was much more successful in his native Canada where he had quite a few hits. I Just Wanna Stop is definitely his signature song and it can still be heard on “oldies” stations quite regularly.
Really cool channel, lots of random stuff that exists in the dusty attic of my childhood long term memory that bring up memories. My wife says my life is a soundtrack. Took it as a compliment. Music has always been on no matter what I do and there's no real rhyme or reason to what I'm in the mood for. A song comes on and I'll tell her what I was up to when a song came out, where, when, etc. I was born in 1970, my mom's little sisters were 4 and 8 years older than me so more like big sisters than aunts. They had all this stuff playing all the time when I was growing up. Riding with my dad in his '66 Barracuda he'd always have the radio on and songs like this remind of of the mellow decade of the 1970s which was such a great time to grow up and so much great music. I can sing along to this song but had no idea who sang it until this video.
Oh, absolutely! 70’s were amazing! I also had an aunt that was just 6 years older than me. She being more like a big sister than an aunt is a perfect way to put it. Keep on singing my friend. 😃
As a Canadian I am bias towards all Canadian Bands and artists. Thank you are reacting to them. There are so many that you would enjoy. You would probably enjoy his songs Black cars and it’s just an emotion away.
Ok, check out his first big hit, "People Gotta Move," which Gino performed on "Soul Train;" that should tell you something. Others to consider would be "Storm at Sunup/Love Me Now," "Where Am I Going," "The Surest Things Can Change," and "Brother to Brother." He wrote his own music and lyrics, with his brothers Joe (arranging, on keyboards) and Ross (background singer here) assisting. This one's from 1978, I think.
This video was so funny. Had to watch it 2 times. 😆😆Your a little Verklempt! So your next assignment, Agent Britt, is one of his other big hits of this era " People Gotta Move". It'll move you!
😃😃😃…. Hi Britt , What you think …Girl , Does that song cut the Mustard ? …That’s 70’s …Baby , I know you like the 80’s …. Hey I want you to hear this song , Theirs never been a reason , By Head East , It’s a 70 ‘s song to … See what you think
From my home town and the east end of Montreal. I want to ask you. Do you, have you ever sang in a band, group, church? I am a musician, not professional. You have a very nice tone to your voice when you speak, as well when you jokingly sing.
Get a glass (not cup) and two pkgs of Wendy's Sea Salt. Mix with warm water and gargle. This will break up the crud. You can sniffle it too, but have your Lucky Husband stand by in case you need CPR. You are Beautiful.
Another artist I forgot. Thanks for reminding me. We had great artists in the day. 🎤🎶🎧💚💜❤️👍
No doubt!
Mid sixties to mid seventies had the best music.
Oh man this song goes wayyyy back. Oh I miss how the world was then. I really do.
I just love you. I had the biggest crush on Gino Vanelli when I was a kid. Man, we had some good music growing up.
'70s calling! Giving Canadian R&B vibes. Background singers doing great work here.
As a fellow Canadian, I’ve always been so proud of this man right here . He was blessed with the most beautiful hair and voice. I’ve seen him in concert 4 times. He’s still going strong.

Montreal’s Gino Vannelli!
Now that you have introduced yourself to Gino Vannelli you must check out "Living Inside Myself" next.
Yes!
He is of Italian ancestry, but he is a Canadian from Montreal.

He's from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. You should listen to his "Living Inside Myself"... Equally great tune..
I had 8 track tape of this. Now 65 , i no longer have it. Love it.
Classic 70s soft funky jazz rock ❤
I remember this song, it was everywhere for a while. But I never saw a picture of him or saw him sing. He is quite a good looking guy, lol. 😊
He has such a beautiful voice. This is the first time I have heard him. WOW! Love your reaction!
I love this, it takes me back when I was a kid ! Great times
Love the reaction!
Canadian legend Gino Vannelli.
I just found your channel. Music back in the 70s was so lush and heartfelt. (I got to listen to it on the radio!) This has always been one of my favorite songs.
Thanks for this reactions. Gino is one of my absolute favorites. Incredible voice and stage presence, backed by a killer band.
You're just about to jump down the rabbit hole !
This man is a genius and no genre of music is out of his bounds

Pure talent

I recommend this song I believe six months ago, glad you reacted to it. Thanks
No problem!

next song by gino is living inside myself !
What you meant say in that first break you took is "Gino - please don't stop"
Always hated for the slow dance to end when this song came to a stop back in the day.
Please do his Living inside Myself by Gino!
