Beautiful. What a classy upcycle. I LOVE the counter tops. My grandparents have the original 1950's boom-a-rang pattern, in aqua/teal. Every time I see the pattern, I think of them and their kitchen.
Absolutely gorgeous, I worked at a huge RV center, detailed every kind of rig out there. But my favorite regular customer, had her horse trailer decked out. Forever a great memory, joy to clean, all but the stall😆 but she was THE BEST TIPPER EVER, thanks Natalie, I miss y'all! YOUR CONVERSION IS JUST AS AMAZING!
That is so cool. Before any of these really were popular I remember as a kid playing across the street at a friends house. Her grandparents had a horse trailer and we would set it up as a house and just spend hours on hours in it. Who would of thought we were making history in our own playtime lol.
I saw pics of this trailer on Pinterest and I was gobsmacked. I happen have been gifted a 5x14 livestock trailer very similar to this (no escape doors). I'm pleased to have found your video. I love your kerfed ceilings but that's beyond my ability I think. I'm thinking on using a vinyl fabric that looks like tooled leather with nailhead tacks. Your trailer is my inspiration so thank you so much for sharing it.
Awesome! I have 76 Miley . very similar trailer and I've been considering doing something like this with it but you have gone above and beyond..absolutely gorgeous!
I just got done with a 14 x7 cargo trailer that I did to look like a log cabin lots of white pine ,black hardware, and things on the wall you would find in a log cabin.I have a memory foam mattress, leather loveseat with a coffee table I built years ago that looks like it was made from a sled.I hope to have it on utube soon.Your trailer is one of the best.
I have the same idea. So, looking to see if others have already done it, I happened upon yours here. What an awesome build and job you have done. It's beautiful...I love it!
I'm in the process of remodeling my living quarters on my horse trailer. I'd LOVE to see a video on how the wiring is done on the interior. Know of any? I'm hitting a dead end!
@@gatorftbllvr It's run before the interior wall is put on, then the holes are cut or notched in the correct places where the fixtures, plugs, etc...go as the wall covering is put on. I don't know of any good videos on it right off hand, but you could watching different cargo trailer and van build videos and find one were they show doing it. Look for videos of the nicer builds. Wish you luck...blessings
@@gatorftbllvr I do know of an awesome way to insulate it. Use Great Stuff Foam Insulation with these wide tips you can get on Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B01EAZJWG8/ref=dp_prsubs_1
Really love this little trailer. I’ve seen them starting to crop up on the internet and I guess that’s the next craze in Tiny Homes on Wheels living. Unfortunately I am not handy at all and wouldn’t even attempt to restore one. This is beautiful. Hope you’re still enjoying it!!
The American horse trailers are lovely. I have an Australian two horse extended horse float with a tack box but they aren't as big as the American ones and our tack boxes are not rooms they are only come up from the floor just below the window. However once I no longer have horse's anymore I intend to convert the tack box into a kitchen and put a permanent bed into it, rather than a blow up mattress for overnight shows
Awesome work. I am researching to do the same and came across yours. Inspirational for sure. I like the design you have for the rear doors with the canopy over top. Was thinking you could add in a rear deck as well to work this the doors. When the doors are closed the rear deck would folded up and locked in place. When dropped it could lock into the doors to hold up giving you a rear deck as well. Just a thought. Again love what you have done. a fan....
Super job and the design is great love you idea of opening the doors and being part of nature thank you for sharing again a great great restoration job
That is a beautiful piece of work, Sir. I have had my eye on a very similar trailer for a couple decades now. I spoke to the owner many years ago and I could tell he was very proud of it, and was not ready to let go. But we are all getting older, and he may be more inclined to sell. However, I am not sure that I am in good enough shape to do a conversion, and complete it, and be able use it before my time is up. My question to you is what do you think it weighs? I don't want to buy a new F-350 to tow with, they are worth more than my house cost. Thanks for sharing your project. It is very special.
Brings to mind an old Chris LaDew song. "10-4 buddy come on back, horse trailer on a Cadillac. I'm talking to the cowyboy in the Coupe DeVille." Those were great times....
Nice job! Yes, I also like that vintage look! Great size. FYI: 12volt electric compressor fridges are efficient. Flexible solar panels would curve to roof, or leave portable to set in sun.
I have pretty much the same exact trailer for sale, little newer, and saw this video. It's not for sale anymore. I'm going to hook it up. I figure I can squeeze the motorcycle in it and hang a hammock, shelf loft or make a bunk bed with storage. I'm happy with a dry sink, hot plate and a solar panel
Over the last few days I WONDERED if anyone did something like this! i'm surprised that there aren't professionally produced campers like this:) they should, i think they would be popular :)
There are a few we found but they are larger and have the front converted for a living quarters and the back still for horses. I do like this one because of the substantiality of it and the way it tows. Not light at 3400 Lbs but very stable and solid.
Just Beautiful!! I have to tell you I saw this trailer on Pinterest, my neighbor had a horse trailer sitting for a few years not being used, and after I saw your pics I made her an offer and Im going to start my project!! So inspired by you! I have a question regarding the awning off the back double doors, can you give some info on the construction, material used etc? My trailer has back doors like also and I love the awning! I want to set my trailer out in the pasture with my horses so I can spend time with them!
The awning is made out of Sunbrella fabric but found that the rain dripped through so added a top "liner" out of shower curtain material. The awning is attatched at the front (trailer side) with a couple 1x2 boards sandwiching the fabric and then we installed a couple eye bolts at each end of the board which the bungie cords attatch to pull the board down so it holds on the top of the trailer. The other end is again a couple 1 x 2 sandwiching the fabric and the whole rig is held up with a couple painter poles
I'm wondering if you could take the post the door lock to removable. Put metal holding channel at top and bottom and a slide lock at both ends so that you can remove that while enjoying the view unobstructed. Thoughts?
Sorry for the delay in response - I like your idea and some trailers with the drop down gate don't have the center post. Have to admit the post really doesn't distract us. Thanks for your thoughts

Beautiful job on the birch paneling and cabinetry! It looks gorgeous!👍😎
I like how you put metal edging along the counter top, and the strips between the paneling. It gives it a vintage look.

I am just STUNNED at the beauty of this camper!! We live in West TX and have several old livestock trailers - now you've got me thinkin'....!! 😄

This is lovely. Well done. Safe trails. Happy adventures
Those escape doors on the side are life savers. I know one of those has let me live long life. Beautiful work my friend.

Awesome little camper
I love it. I owned a trailer much like this one years ago only when we camped I slept in the tack room. Love that you have given this one a new life.
Super Cute!! Y’all made a beautiful camper!!!
And there is still room for a horse!! This is fabulous. Now I regret selling my old horse trailer.
Wow!!! Too bad this guy only put out one vid. His carpentry skills and taste level are on another level. This build is amazing.
Love this. Great craftsmanship. Birch paneling looks wonderful.
This is so nice!!! Love the yellow too...bright and cheerful.

she's a real beauty. its obvious you have an eye for style, especially retro. love what youve done with it
Incredible it resembles a classic airstream design.
Beautiful trailer... WOW. I'm currently researching the potential so thank you for sharing. Best wishes and merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too. We are going to be doing some maintenance and upgrades in the spring so more videos will follow.
I clicked on because yellow is my favorite color and I'm glad I did. You have a beautiful trailer. Enjoy many journeys with it.🙂
