Do you think ESAM and Leo team (Joker&Pikachu) or Elegant and Wizzy with TIME to plan shit out, would do good against Marss Light?

I think Light and Marss are unbeatable on a good day mostly because of the synergy they have through experience. A team like Leo and Esam would be great, but they haven't been teaming for years and years so wouldn't have the synergy to immediately know what the other is doing and how to respond.
Light and marss also have the advantage of being in the same region meaning they have more practice than most
Light and marss are also like the 2 fastest players put there. A great quality for teams as it means you can process the chaos of a doubles match qnd quickly find the best option.
Overall, I don't think marss and light on a good day will be beat unless 2 other fast top players commit to teaming for a long time to gain synergy.
Edit: also 1v1 player rank doesn't say how good they are in teams. Team synergy is super important! PewFat in melee are both like top 20 players but are undisputed # 1doubles team, beating mang0 and lucky, or hbox and plup consistently.
Light and Marss are the goated doubles team, the pewfat of ultimate!
I just went back to the last two games of the set to see how u conditioned him to DI the combo in, and holy shit ur right. What a godlike strategy. That’s actually so cool
Listening to top players talk about their decisions during matches is just crazy to me. He said he traded with grenade when it was smart to do so in order to get more damage. It's crazy impressive that these players have that presence of mind and situational awareness. Wish I had that.

this shit rejuvenated my hype for pikachu you have no idea. I played for 300 hrs and never hit elite then switched to puff and hit elite in a week. after watching this i went back to pika and finally hit elite with him!! Shit man congrats those sets had me popping off at taco restaurants in chicago.

Why do people not like Esam? I was watching the tournament rooting for him but most people in the chat were hating really hard. I guess people just love to hate the top players once in a while, like with Zero back in the day and dabuz.

The only downside to Glitch in my humble opinion is that Tweek didn't partake, BUT, there will be more tournaments with every big player name there for sure so it's fine.

@@davidolinger3948 that ignoring Japan & Europe is the current state of the game, Tweek at Summit, MKLeo twice, Esam at Glitch, if we include Japan & Europe the other big tournament winners have been Protobanham & Tea(he went to the European major & beat Gluto there)

Loved watching the run and congrats on the win! I also just want to say how much I appreciate you being outspoken about about pandemic safety. I know that's not easy and you probably get some sh*t for it, but it's really important.
Also - unrelated question - there was a lot of talk at the beginning of the pandemic around making the community safer for women, underage players, etc. considering all of reports that came out about certain members of the smash bros. scene. Do you feel like TOs and the community as a whole has made those changes? Or has it just been forgotten about?

You seem overly concerned about covid lol especially being vaccinated already but that's your personal choice so 🤷 to each is own
Being vaccinated, although it does severely reduce the risk with Covid, doesn't make you immune either. You can still get sick (even if it'll be much easier to deal with it) and, most importantly, spread it around if you do get sick.
So yeah, still got reasons to worry about Covid, even if vaccinated. Mostly worrying about spreading it rather than being harmed by it

As someone who is vaccinated myself and still got covid despite that, I don't think he's overly concerned at all. I should have stayed more cautious and so should everyone else.
isolation prior to an event and wearing a mask protects OTHER people, they are things that make You less likely to spread to others, it's a matter of personal Responsibility in regards to other people's health and the harm you may otherwise do to them . . .
