If you were in aux before you turned off the car when you reboot the car will still be in aux. you just need to plug in the phone and double click the power button. Takes 3 seconds

You come up with things like 360 camera, rear and front park assist, push button start, keyless entry etc and youll be sitting on a gold mine because every 4Runner owner would love to have these add ons that are only avail on the limited trim, which no ones buys because you have to give up a lot of the off road gizmos and trim for it
These CarPlay module videos from all the different players are irritating click bait because they lack the ability to purchase and don’t offer pricing. The Korean websites seem to place the price point at $600 if I did my conversion correctly.... may as well but a full replacement unit.

Got something like this on my 2018 Camry. Would be nice if the price point was under $200. At this cost you might as well replace the head unit with a wireless capable Android Auto or Carplay aftermarket head unit.
How is the sound quality of the mic when on calls versus the stock mic? Would I just use the original USB port in my phone to switch to the regular wired option on OEM side if wanted to use the other mic say if it’s better or is the other mic disabled with this setup?
We have it set so your calls will route to the car’s Bluetooth to retain the normal call quality you are used to. Yes you can either use the original USB port or have a separate usb extension cable. Our new kit uses the factory mic

JWM816 yes from AA/Carplay mode when you put your car into revere gear it will go to the backup camera automatically. This does not support a second camera

Yes it is possible but you will not be able to hear the turn by turn direction voice

3 seconds huh..? nonetheless, a minor annoyance for some.
Any oem equipped carplay systems will need steps taken to access the app via their radio.

Installation cost can vary from $100 to $500 depending on your location. I suggest installing it yourself. It’s not too difficult

Unfortunately this is only compatible with 2014-2019. 2013 models radio consists of different wiring harness

Yes, only volume controls. For seek and other menu options you will need to use the radio touchscreen.
