Point blank, our first few weeks living off-grid in Colorado have been nothing short of entertaining. We faced some challenges that made us appreciate living out in nature even more, especially when sharing the same living quarters with giants from the deer family. Our truck battery died, but that didn’t hinder us from getting our well-deserved margaritas. I had to say goodbye to a part of myself I never thought I would have to…at least until it grows back. And we celebrated a birthday with the saddest confetti bomb and worst singing possible.
Join The Wandering Wolfes in all these adventures, plus learn how we harvest water and deal with our toilet situation.

Looking back, I was obviously ridiculous, but I am genuinely terrified of driving in the snow! With that being said, in the winter, I’ll be entertaining! 😅

In case you guys go back to the Nederland area again, there is a spring in Ward just up the road on your right at 6:39. Best water we've ever drank in our life.
EDIT: Never mind 🙃You found it too!

How are you guys liking your Scamp I have one that's a 77 that I'm restoring

We love it! I can say that Marshall does wish we went with a 16 ft Scamp, but I (Sam) am loving the small space. It forces us to downsize, even now while we're out here traveling! It's definitely cozy in the best way possible!💚

I should send you my video of mine and Prabh's road trip through Wyoming and Colorado in February. The snow was so bad that you couldn't see anything past the windshield and we drove over black ice at least 3 times (Prabh is a VERY good driver, thank god!) which was scary as heck.

I bet! Send it to me so I can attempt to mentally prepare myself for winter over here! I’m not sure where we’ll be once snow starts to fall, but I’m sure I’ll panic either way. 😅

I’m not sure if the reflective coating on the window shade could short the battery or not, but you put it right by your battery bank.
I was thinking of getting a small chemical toilet like yours. Can you dump them in campground or rest stop toilets to save the $10?
One of your solar panels with a charge controller could recharge your truck battery.
We have a similar (Casita) travel trailer. Anyway, fun video. Thanks for posting

Thanks for all the feedback!! We have little rubber caps over the battery terminals. That was for sure something we were concerned about when we first started shoving them back there. Now that you bring it up, Marshall double checked that no positives are exposed!!
Good idea on charging the truck battery with solar. We were in a bit of a rush for Mexican food, though. 😅
We have talked about using the vault toilets to dump but wasn’t sure if that was okay. It would save us a ton of money for sure!
And we love the casita. Marshall prefers the layout of the casita. We actually had a few different makes we were looking for. This little 13 just happened to be the first one we were lucky enough to buy. 😊

Hahaha thanks Sami I needed the laugh loved when Marshall said said hey Amelia wants to go out and you said but there’s a moose hahaha. Get over your fear of wildlife (be couscous) if not you might miss some wonderful things that you might not see again. I love you

When you go from Kentucky deer to Colorado moose, there's an adjustment period! We became much more chill with the moose after a couple days.

Gotta say yt algorithm Finally shared a channel yesterday I can appreciate. Been enjoying each & every vid. After spending 2 years in Alaska just made me laugh seeing Sam Stress over the """"snow"""". Anyways Most Important thing I learned about driving in Snow is DON'T use Cruise Control & take foot off gas. Besides that have Fun & I'm gonna kick back & enjoy.

Thanks for watching!! Marshall is much more confident driving in the snow...I am definitely not! In my defense, though, Kentucky and Tennessee (where we're from) tend to have more ice storms and freezing rain than snow! 😅

I'm in NC & laugh my ass off when the state shuts down over 1/4 inch of snow@@wanderess_sam .
