Shows that Rex managed to piece things together last minute, since he's the only person who addressed Palpatine as "Lord Sidious" rather than just "My Lord" like the other clones.
It was just in their programming to acknowledge Palpatine as Sidious, because in the next episode another clone references that they are quote “under special orders by Darth Sidious” so it’s not that Rex figured anything out, it’s just his programming.
Actually, Rex didn't work out Sidious' identity as such -- every clone knew as soon as their control chips activated. The purpose of the bio-chips is to ensure absolute loyalty and obedience to one man: Darth Sidious. Not the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, but the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious. What's ironic is that whereas attachment is what led Anakin to the dark side, it's what ultimately saved Ahsoka and Rex.
