That is a reasonable assumption. It seems that it cannot be used if the user is not calm and collected. He really should work on improving all three forms of his haki though, the enemies he is facing will be quite tough.

Before Katakuri's future sight, I thought observation haki worked similarly to the sharingan, allowing them to observe an enemy extremely closely and use their movements to predict attacks early, only they used a sort of sixth sense rather than sight. But Katakuri was literally seeing into the future, like when he would predict what people would say. I honestly preferred the story before haki became so prominent.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure regular observation haki works by sensing a persons intent (like sensing an intent to throw a punch) in order to dodge ahead of time as opposed to katakuri’s observation which allows him to literally see the future.

It's evident that mantra isn't different from Observation it's just that its user did not understand specifically what it was and many of them were barely grasping its capabilities to the point where a minor distractions forced them to deactivate it. It harkens to Luffy's training with the ability where distractions or simply not concentrating got him a piece of wood to the back of the head.

I think the difference between mantra and observation is the thing you'r focusing on, when using observation you're focusing on the attacks and mantra focuses on the opponent allowing you to read their body language/actions perfectly. (Mantra = offensive observation, observation = defensive observation).

Hey Tekking something I think you may have missed in another video also is when Bon clay was carrying Luffy through the snow and was attacked by wolves, Luffy woke up and used conquerors haki to knock all the wolves out which prompted bon clay to say “Mugi Chan, what was that?” Or something along those lines
I always connected them like this: Observation - the awakening of the mind (Science/mathematics, such as probablility vectors, environmental stimuli sensing, ect.) Armament - the awakening of the body (manipulate aspects of the body, would be cool if the advanced armament could actually rapidly heal or something similar.) Conquerors - the awakening of the soul - project ones will.

I'm kinda interested in hearing Tekking talk about the merits of Conquerors. Honestly, for an ability held in as high regard as it is, I sometimes wonder how useful it is. There are situations where it's great, yeah, but most of the time it just lets you instantly beat enemies you were probably strong enough to beat in an instant anyway.
Another observation moment I see a lot of people forget is when Luffy attacked Mihawk at Marineford. He got a vision of his arms being cut off before her attacked and pulled up short but he didn’t seem to understand what had happened, just that continuing what he was doing was probably a bad idea.
That example with Whitebeard remind me of that moment when Spidey was snapped. A lot of people theorized that thanks to his spidy sence he felt his impending doom way before it would happen wich is why he broke down before he dusted. Because his logical self didnt know if he was gonna dissapear but instinctively his sence knew. I cant really imagine what exactly he felt, like how would you describe impending, unavoidable doom without really knowing it?
Observation haki is cool cuz it seems to be different for different people based on your personality where armament and conquerors are basically the same with maybe some different auras, katakuri can see in the future, fujitora sees the auras of people, usopp can also see auras but in a different way and the list goes on of different types

The other thing is you have to have good relaxing to match your observation Haki or they won't be able to dodge fast enough which has been seen a few times

Future seeing is the highest level you can train but hearing the voice of all things is something your born with like conqerers.

Off topic. Have you seen fire force. Its pretty good. Limited on powers unlike sould eater but still enjoyable and cast progresses well enough compared to some other manga i read.

I'm kinda interested in hearing Tekking talk about the merits of Conquerors. Honestly, for an ability held in as high regard as it is, I sometimes wonder how useful it is.
There are situations where it's great, yeah, but most of the time it just lets you instantly beat enemies you were probably strong enough to beat in an instant anyway.

Another observation moment I see a lot of people forget is when Luffy attacked Mihawk at Marineford. He got a vision of his arms being cut off before her attacked and pulled up short but he didn’t seem to understand what had happened, just that continuing what he was doing was probably a bad idea.
That example with Whitebeard remind me of that moment when Spidey was snapped.
A lot of people theorized that thanks to his spidy sence he felt his impending doom way before it would happen wich is why he broke down before he dusted.
Because his logical self didnt know if he was gonna dissapear but instinctively his sence knew.
I cant really imagine what exactly he felt, like how would you describe impending, unavoidable doom without really knowing it?
Observation haki is cool cuz it seems to be different for different people based on your personality where armament and conquerors are basically the same with maybe some different auras, katakuri can see in the future, fujitora sees the auras of people, usopp can also see auras but in a different way and the list goes on of different types

The other thing is you have to have good relaxing to match your observation Haki or they won't be able to dodge fast enough which has been seen a few times
I feel like fujitora actually used observation at the casino in dressrosa because he kind of knew that it would land on white, so he always bet on white, which actually came, but he didn’t know it landed on white he just knew it would land on white sometime which is why he kept betting on it
