Due to the unique way the BBC is funded, this episode was filmed with a toaster rather than a camera, hence the 144p quality.
To be fair, this was recored in 2008, when it wasn’t easy to obtain, let alone upload, an HD digital file of a recording. Either way I agree, 144p is abysmal even for those times. They could’ve managed to at least upload it in 480p.
@@SampleTracks2224 Well we're not in England and this is BS.
thanks for the laugh luv
Mate. It was uploaded 14 years ago. When internet was slow and youtube was the jam.
@@SampleTracks2224 am I missing something here , trust me people in the uk do not worship the BBC, as I’ve said in my other post it’s common knowledge they are.very suspicious organisation, we all know what I’m talking about, or maybe it’s just me?
He's so British.
Yes its almost like he is British🤔
He is actually a great stand up comedian rather than an actor. And I love all his interviews.
Is he a stand up comedian or that he "would be"? Some people can be hilarious in some conversations and do great in comedy movies but as a stand up....that would be tough.
Not in person I’m afraid!!!!
I LOVE how honest and hilarious Hugh is
I'm surprised how funny and likeable he is in this interview
petrucci15 If you pay attention, he's usually funny and likeable. But I've noticed that American audiences didn't use to take his wry humour well nor do they now.
Why surprised! He has always been so witty! :)
2 of the most British people ever
Because Hugh Grant is so well-spoken, I thought he'd be a stuck-up little dweeb, but he's not, he seems like a genuine, down to earth kinda guy.
I don't need a student loan, I got a huge grant
lolxxx
Perfect.
V lame joke
@@pjp5182 7 years ago, I don’t think they could care less about what you say tbh
We love this dude.
I wish he was 28 again and making movies in England again instead of in the US.
clarkson - "ok listen, i really want to get onto your lap..."
right after talking about a prostate exam LOL
glad somebody else noticed, what a missed opportunity :')
"get on to your lap"
but that was a good catch 🤣
Who wants to see Hugh Grant's lap? And all the guys bellow "Yeeeerrrr"
Incredible, this man is 49 years old, but he is so young and full of humour. A wonderful person.
Hugh banter with Jeremy really natural...i love it
Hugh Grant is a beautiful man.

5:41: "I really want to get on to your lap, obviously."
Just seen Hugh in The Gentlemen. Brilliantly played in a fantastic movie. Absolutely sucks bollocks that we all get old though.
One less pixel and this would be a podcast. Come on BBC, upload a better version! This is a classic interview.
It's fine. Why are people so obsessed with this - just use your brain to join the dots.
I love Hugh Grant. He is so good at interviews he is hilarious.
Hugh Grant is wonderful! xD I actually cried of laughter so many times during this interview...
"... and when he wouldn't get out of his car, I thought 'Waaah, then I'll attack the car!'"
The look on his face is hilarious XD !
" youve ripped the wipers off my car" " oh im so sorry" haha
Sadly this cuts out Hugh's line about the new film he's come to promote. "It's a romantic comedy, which is something I've never done before." 😂
I like Hugh. I bet he'd be great to have over for dinner.
Haha
Emma J you can bring me too emma! we can have fun!
+Emma J My dad was sat next to him once on a flight to New York and he was reading a review of a film he'd made and he was being so rude and obnoxious to all the flight stewards because it had got a really bad review, so I think he comes across nicer when he's being filmed
+samlongfield I guess everybody has their bad days XD
+Emma J I feel as though he's the sort of person who'd be really awkward at first though XD Or wouldn't be as lovely if your personalities clashed :P
Hugh Grant makes me feel warm inside when ever i hear his voice :)
love you Hugh !
geremy - 'okay listen, I really wanna get onto your lap... obviously!'
Hugh - thinking WTF and then catches the point
Geremy?
@@4ndyr0g3r50n Germy?
If you're going to be angry, follow it through... Prophetic words !
Love his wit. He’s so funny.
LOVE his voice and accent !
Hugh Grant is such a great actor
Interviewer: we are the same age give or take
Hugh: It's hard to believe 😂🤣
I want to Hugh Grant when I grow up
"Pathetic, if you gonna be angry, you know, follow it through"
hahhahahahahaha that one made my day
Oh Hugh, never fails to make me lol :)
He's 50? Damn. Only a 37 year age gap.
+Sophie Hadley.wondering if you still feel the same about Hugh now,😂
27*
@@BrendanCalliesComposer Yes, because after this interview Hugh just stopped aging. Soon enough she'll be the same age as him
@@aaron7803 i think he assumed the woman was highlighting the gap between her own age and Hugh's
If Hugh was 50 and she's 37 younger, means she's 13... which he thought was unlikely and assumed she was 23 instead. Hence the gap being 27. At least I'd like to think thats what happened
@@BrendanCalliesComposer u sure about that?
He went to Latymer Upper School and graduated from Oxford with a 2:1 honours. So people seem to have it all.
"oh hello" n then he strokes his chin so proudly :D beautiful :D
Hugh's amazingly funny, I'm impressed.
and THEN he interviewed me.
"does this hurt" hahah..that part really made me laugh :D Hugh is the best!
hugh grant is always funny
7:50 that was the most British yes i've ever heard
"Contains strong language"
Hugh Grant swearing, yay, gotta watch this ! x)
Guy should be a stand up comic
hugh grant should be the next bond.
One of the best Top Gear interviews ☺
''I really want to get on to your lap''
Nice choice of words Jeremy!
''And we punished him for that'' hahaha
Whats that?
He's so charmingly befuddled
He’s actually hilarious!
Its delightful seeing this interview ☺️ ☺️ ☺️ ❤
LOVE that accent and hugh grant! platonic lovee forever
Hugh Grant strikes me as a Jag driver
Heck yes. He's stunning.
Love his sense of humor, and well of all the cars he pushed the porshe the most, lmao!
grant ,love u very much
He did great!
I love how he says prius!
I am a big Fan of Hugh. He is adorable.
wow..im surprsingly in love with hugh grant...
That man's an awesome character!
I love the british accent! :)
Love this - both of the British accent and humour :D
haha man i love hugh grant, hes insanley additctive :) great man x
I love him ♥♥♥
No matter what character he plays in a movie or drama. I always call him Hugh
One of the better interviews Jeremy has done.
I had to laugh so hard the first time I saw him driving and when he bumped his head in the car :D Its till funny!
Hmm a bentley and Hugh, perfect
haha hugh grant is hilarious.
I love him.
Hugh Grant looks like Paul McCartney on gamma rays.
I would hazard a guess and say he's probably unfulfilled as an actor. I think he's a very good one, but he always gets the romantic comedy roles that may have left him typecast. He did a film with Gene Hackman years ago called 'Extreme Measures' a thriller, although not a box office smash, but his best acting performance in my view, but hey, what do I know..?
Ian Rivers very good film
His best acting role was in Cloud Atlas... then again it was the best acting role for many of the actors involved in that film, including Tom Hanks and Jim Broadbent. Tom Hanks was just too good as a cockney.
he’s started to get more interesting roles with age, and he’s stated as much in interviews
Brilliant in Maurice, before he got typecast
I love Hugh Grant! :)
Top chap
Clarkson is only one year older than Grant, but looks like his father
Love Hugh Grant, small tongue and all!
he made a mistake it doesnt mean that he is a bad guy or smt!! we all made mistakes cuz we are all human!! and judging him for his mistakes makes you more poor than me ! so accept or not he is the hottest man alive and also a great actor and a kind respectful person !!
super funny hugh... never had thought about that!! :-)
HE'S HILARIOUS! Love him!
Grant is a good sport withs lots of humor.
I swear that bollocks is the best swear word invented
"Yes... Yes... Yes... Oh hello !" *swoons*
noooo advertisement before youtube videos...
esse homem meu sonho de vida
I COMPLETELY mis-heard "I want to get onto your lap, obviously."
part of roadrage is SO FUNNY
"Yes.. Oh hello!"
haha
What a series and part please??? :)
series9
He's hilarious!!!
i agree
"well, i really want to get onto your lap.....obviously" hahahahaha
oh WOW. he's the first person I've ever heard say "oh, hello" properly, other than Stephen Fry on QI xD
god i love him! lol. classic
haha Hugh is a bad ass. a way with words
ROFL!! the prostate exam must have been crazy xD
"yes...yes...oh hello!"
haha! cool movie! hugh as always sweet
