  • In this video, I demonstrate once again that the starting game box size is only a suggestion, with you being able to modify boxes to better fit whatever circumstances you happen to have.
To learn more about the game Furnace, head to the BGG game page - boardgamegeek.... - or check out my review link included in the first few seconds of this video.

Thanks for this video! Your "outro" was helpful for me: I saw Patterns many months ago and forgot about it, but it seems like a game I would enjoy. Onto my list it goes.

Amazing. I remember watching the original furnace cut down video as the first thing ive really seen from you (minus assorted bgg articles). I love it. Cut and customize everything. I see this a lot in other hobbies, such as machining and tools, but its such a negative thing for board games. I support this. Keep going!

He also posts a seemingly endless amount of images on the game pages on BGG. Many of the earliest images and "official" / publisher box and component shots are posted by WEM.

Alright, I need to add another comment now that I've listened to the part about the "untouched things"! I was the same way for a long time. (And I can revert somewhat if not careful.) Over my life at various times, I've had CDs, games, books, etc. and I always kept them as close to "like-new" condition as possible. This became obvious to me one time when I went to sell some books at a store, and the person who worked at the store thought I hadn't read the books, but I had read nearly all of them! Thankfully, I'm mostly over that (I don't even sleeve my cards!!), but I still try my best to maintain my belongings so the next person after me can have a good time with them.

This guy should be crowned "The Butcher of Board Games"...
First he dumps all his unorganized components into thr box. Now he cuts the boxes...

Maybe "The Butcher of Board Game Containers". After all, the game components themselves are unharmed and ready for play. -WEM

Fields of Green is like Maldivia in that the box is mostly empty. I would rather get it out of my collection than cut the box down though.

Splendor is one of the worst overkill boxes I've seen.

I fit the base game and expansion in the expansion box without cutting anything. If things are bagged it all fits.

I really dig Only Murders in the Building, and it's amazing to think of Steve Martin having a career that spans five decades! -WEM
