I like your attitude, I'd definitely give you my business if I'd live in your area. I'm sure we'd get along. Also, good informative and entertaining video's and I'm happy you don't succumb to the background music virus too much. Thanks.
I accidentally went into full screen video and the BSOD appeared. I thought it was my system freaking out. It made my heart skip a beat, haven't seen one of those in about 5 years...
When you said it had been overclocked I kind of suspected a CPU issue once you'd eliminated the GPU and the RAM to be honest. But it was great to see you work through this logically and trouble shoot it step by step. Exactly how it should be done, brilliant!
Just watched an almost 3 year old video about troubleshooting a pc. I have done so many myself and still find it interesting... 😊 I myself had a defective cpu once. But that was because I forgot to put the cpu fan on... It cracked! 😁 But although old still a great video to watch. Not a moment regret of subscribing...
"it's like changing a tire on a car because the engine won't start" 😂😂😂 also may have made this comment somewhere else but early this year I had similar issues, everything fine playing games , 3 months in start getting blue screen, auto everything in BIOS, okay for a week, then if doing a file transfer it would freeze until you moved the mouse then it'd resume. finally gave it to a friend who has same MOBO (x570 taichi) , he had same issues, luckily microcenter warrantied it for me (: replacement one I can get higher ccx clocks on and it's already lasted twice as long as original 🤗
I had a strong feeling it was the CPU, but you still did the right thing by buying a cheap used MB because it let you know everything you need to know.
It's funny how about 4/5 years ago I built my son a computer with the same CPU, same motherboard, same graphics card in a Razer edition NZXT H440 with a corsair H110 AIO. Must have been the best bang for your buck available back then. Set it to a safe 4.7 Ghz with no other adjustments and it's still kicking along nicely today.
You earned your coin on that one!!! I had similar issues a while back, turned out to be a RAM issue, but memtest said all ok. Would BSD intermitent, was a single DIMM at fault. Cosair RMI'ed it no quesiotns asked. Can't fault them. Excellent video, very inciteful.
Heh I've just noticed you have the same keyboard as me (Dell "Premium"). hard to get ahold of nowadays! I love it's compact design, feels great too, though I've been thinking about trying a mechanical.
I have the same Kraken, it was a bit noisy in the beginning but that was because it needed to settle in and bios wasn't optimized yet, very rare to see a bad CPU
My GB gave endless BSODs like that of stuff I never heard of...It was the POS Gigabyte board , NOT the RAM or CPUI. I never could get into Windows but it would run Memtest from a USB , that right there told me the CPU was working. Had lots of errors in Memtest , even with 2 known good CPUs. Never GB again.
Have you had any of the AIO's reduce their performance due to the pipes being at the top of the radiator instead of the bottom? Mine started running the pump dry, I flipped the radiator and it's working again. Too bad it burned out my i7-990x before i worked out it was having issues.
I was so surprised that cpu was the culprit instead of motherboard, while watching the vid i was sure that its the mobo, but it appeared its cpu, i wonder if it had anything to do with previous overclock, highly unlikely but still raises a question...
These videos inspired my to try to troubleshoot why I can't use more than 2 sticks of ram I'm my current PC. I can post with 2 8GB sticks, bit not more than that. Sometimes I can mess with the bios toilet me use 2x8 and a 4gb stick, but that blue screens when playing games. I added a beeper to my computer so I can diagnose things better. I was hoping that the GPU was being too much of a power hog on the crappy dollar store motherboard, but it doesn't seem to be the issue. I'll keep trying, but this 2012 parts AMD FX build is trash anyway. It would be nice to have an extra working 16 gb of ram for a server PC though. Your videos have helped a lot in my troubleshooting this. Thanks for that.
@@Maartwo I had to up the voltage a lot just to get a post, but even then, windows (or any other os) wouldn't get past the startup screen before a memory related BSOD. It was just cheap ram from eBay, so I guess it's my fault. Good thing my friend was able to take it for his super crap PC.
@@MCChubbyUnicorn Ah! good to see you have solved the issue. I was going to suggest that it might have been the sticks themselves. Remember to check the QVL list of your motherboard when shopping for RAM!
Good video but what happened next ? Did windows have a hissy fit about activation after the new CPU was fitted ? Did the customer have to buy another Windows licence ? If not, it would be interesting to see how you kept Windows activated.
Often, the very first boot of a brand new system board takes longer, due to it having to 'freshly' search for all the peripherals, etc. Afterwards it has saved the config and will only do a 'refresh' type of search. I see it happen all of the time but sometimes they don't take so long which leads me to believe that when they don't take a long time that they have been booted somewhere between the mfgr and the final destination....
Went through the same thing not thinking is was the cpu. Got a new mobo and still blue screen.. i9 was damaged some how. Never overlocked either. When you said it was good enough for you to get into windows setup.. Mine would get that far.. start to install then blue screen after 5min.
Hi Adam .I'm pretty sure I was watching one of your videos where you used a "CH341A"Programming tool to fix a bios chip .I don't seem to be able to find that video .Could you by any chance point me to that vid ?i have bought the tool .Keep up the great work .Kind regards Tony from NZ.
I haven't used the CH341A in a video yet. I have tested with it (posted about it on twitter a while back) but I want to mod mine to fix the 5v data line issue first, otherwise people will shout at me. Video coming soon.
@@Adamant_IT OK .thanks for the reply. It must have been another you tuber .I was so sure it was your channel .Keep up the great content , most informative and enjoyable .cheers ...
Why does he put the radiator and fans on the top of the case where there is a solid metal cover right above them? I'm sure he knows what he's doing just I don't understand it. Would it not be better on the front or back where there is mesh?
The top of the case vents out the side. The strip of mesh above the open side panel is the top exhaust. It's narrow, but no issue for static pressure exhaust.
just had this issue myself, it's caused by a corrupt data sector in any drives... i have an HP 820 G2 that seems to enjoy eating the 2.5 SATA HDD's... it happened after an update from windows... which corrupts a sector in the HDD somehow, i gave up on trying to locate the driver/program that keeps corrupting my 2.5 HDD's... fixed that issue by going with an external SSD.. OS is on an internal M2 SSD... microsoft needs to quit with the bloatware updates that are worthless at points... when i first got this laptop, the internal 32GB M2 SSD was only 50% used.... now? it's maxed out from the updates as it is.
why mem test? just test one dimm at a time and be done with it. or use known good memory. no point in running a test and let it run for ages. just a complete waste of time.
"It's never the CPU. Except when it is." I SWEAR...I'm getting a t-shirt! 🤣

Windows licence is locked with motherboard ID, changing cpu's is no problem for that.

Seen the issue as everyone should look at 28 min 32 secs as it's on the screen right there
Interesting watching some old videos nice work, not sure on that colour scheme they chose though! Never liked the colours on those Noctua fans

A dead CPU won't even run Memtest86 FWIK.
Had the same issue with my old 6600k - turned out cpu core 3 was defective and i had to get a replacement!
If the cpu fails, can it be replaced under warranty after say 1 or 2 years
Depends where you bought it from, and local laws, you'd need to check with the shop.
Newegg's warranty of the Intel i7-12700K is the same as Intel's, 3 years.
could a short on the MB some how cause that issue?
I didn't see any thermal paste?
Did you put any paste on the CPU?
It's pre-applied to the AIO pump head Rob. @51:25
If he was overclocking it he mite have pushed to much voltage to it
the first thing that came to mind was a dead CPU
when can I buy a t shirt that says This CPU is Ballz!
I have not watched it yet, im guessing its the ram
I need the link of the stealth bomber build part 1
on that MB f6 sets the bios to factory settings while your in the bios
Always run memtest for 24hrs. I've seen RAM only show errors after 23hrs & I could repeat this on different systems, with the same RAM.
ElCheapo Motherboard HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE Don't be surprised return incoming burning up another CPU especially a WEAK ASS INTEL JUNK ! ! ! ! ! ! !

PSU should have been you first port of call. ANd should always invest in spare test mboards
was anyone else screaming at the monitor the whole way through that it was a cpu fault? Whea errors are almost always cpu

watched this up to "bios update" and I'm going to guess it is the PSU 3.3v rail, or CPU that has been stressed with overclocking lets see l
It also happened to me i7 5960x defective
Luckily Yes
THE NEW statement is:
never the CPU unless its INTEL then it plausible.
A resource you want to look at is www.spiceworks.com
MSI = More Shit Inside. No I don't have a down on MSI gear, I have the same make GPU in my gaming rig.
nahh i also get exact same error but my fix is by unplugging the pc for 2-3 hours and after then i don't get WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR bsod
Somebody introduce him to linux and dmesg command.
What help would that be with OS not booting ?
would you consider lookig to see if my card can be fixed are it its a driver issue? please
isn't safemode a thing anymore
wouldnt get to the os
Windows NT never had a "safe mode".
clean the pins on the CPU with IPA and try again...
its never the cpu
