Kotal Kahn, my favorite of the new timeline’s characters. He has a unique design and an interesting backstory. Shame he gets treated badly in story mode.
He suffers the same curse of most of the new MK characters, interesting characters with great backstories but on the games they are a shame, but regardless Kotal is one of my favourites too
Exactly shao kahn and kotal kahn are both unique l, their both stacked and they have a powerful weapon. Like kotal's sword and shao's hammer, they both are former kahns.

He only used the Kamidogu in the comics to help him fight against Goro. He also used it to defend the city from the Shokan army storming the city. That's the only time he's ever used it.
Love Kotal. Despite the MK11 treatment, he’s still a strong and interesting character with an excellent resume. Shame that he went from a beast in the comics to a mid carder in MK11.
His fighting style is too lumbering for me personally, but his character design is just stunning. Love the obvious nod to the Aztec kings and was pleasantly surprised to see he is dating Jade!

But yeah I like the way he was a considerate and rational leader compared to Mileena and Shia Kahn in the comics and the game, it was like a breath of fresh air, also seeing Outworld and Earthrealm as allies was nice, as short as it was

Being born in South America, I've been a huge fan of Kotal Kahn since seeing him. I appreciate the representation of a Western Hemisphere culture, and I've loved the Mesoamerican influences (or vice versa in the MK universe) in his clothing, in the way he arms and uniforms his troops. Plus yes he's brutal and ruthless as an MK character should be, but he cares for the Outworld people more than Onaga or Shao Kahn ever did. Unless you're Tarkatan of course lol.

The Osh-Tekks need to be seen more in the series, I have wondered if their Culture is similar to the real Aztecs, in terms of Religion and Superstition, and weaponry.
It's similar to the Aztecs (Mexica [Me-shee-ka]). Google "Macuahuitl". Also, worshipping nature, the sun, etc. is also very common in ''Aztec'' (Mexica) Culture.
Finally,I was interested in Kotal khan's backstory since mkx and mk11..kotal is beginning to be my fav of the new timeline era..its such a shame how they treated kotal near the end of the Kitana capture.

Being a Latino I’m kinda glad people like an Aztec based character. I started learning about Aztec history and what they worship a few months ago and it made me think about Kotal Khan and how I used to play him because I like how they kept his design true
I agree bro, Kotal has such a powerful & warrior look to him only to be a midcard character. All they need to do is seriously upgrade his move set to match other powerhouse characters like(ShaoKhan, ferra/torr, kintaro motaro, etc...) and he would be epic.

I really like kotal khan but because of play armor they make him lose a lot which is unfair. The crippling is overkill (though interactions state he gets healthy again). I do like that he gave the throne to Kitana though cause she did what no other did before her and united outworld as opposed to segregate and he acknowledged that.
In all of MKX comics and the chapter you play as Kotal Kahn in MKX is what he's supposed to be. Him losing to Kung Jin is where the devs just started getting more disrespectful to his character.

Since somehow at first seemed like Shao Kahn 2.0 when he first debuted un MK10 but then... apparently became the lightside version of Shao Kahn all through MK11.. he shoulda been allowed to also recover enough to assist in the final battle... itd been nice to see him kick ass too with all the remaining others.. an was too bad Johnny Cage wasnt present at the end along with Young Blade.. and Scorpion's reconstituted clan and whatever was left of Kuai Liang's Lin Quei instead of those 2 only seemingly being on their own boat.. other then that loved the final battle scene

Correction: Kotal doesn't use a Kamidogu dagger. He can naturally use blood magic like many Osh'teks. He's a badass

I kotal Khan he cool but in the story they did made him look weak in parts of the story mk x and mk 11
In all of MKX comics and the chapter you play as Kotal Kahn in MKX is what he's supposed to be.
Him losing to Kung Jin is where the devs just started getting more disrespectful to his character.

Since somehow at first seemed like Shao Kahn 2.0 when he first debuted un MK10 but then... apparently became the lightside version of Shao Kahn all through MK11.. he shoulda been allowed to also recover enough to assist in the final battle... itd been nice to see him kick ass too with all the remaining others.. an was too bad Johnny Cage wasnt present at the end along with Young Blade.. and Scorpion's reconstituted clan and whatever was left of Kuai Liang's Lin Quei instead of those 2 only seemingly being on their own boat.. other then that loved the final battle scene

They just destroyed his narrative to me. He was supposed to be the leader Outworld needed but then they gave it to katana because there is no way to separate Edina from Outworld anymore. Lol but I still love the character in all of his nurtured glory
It makes no sense, he is the best ruler Outworld ever had. Why just give up all the power to Kitana just because he got injured? Not that it really matters since everything is getting reset because of stupid ass time travel shit. So nothing we played the last since MK9 matters anymore since NRS can literally change, remove or retcon whoever the fuck they want to now.

He’s not really a jobber. He admitted in an intro dialogue that he underestimated Jacqui and Jade is his girl so of course he didn’t really want to hurt her. He didn’t lose anytime else except to Shao Kahn which was the old big boss man and Kung Jin but Jin is a Shaolin like Kang and Loa so that’s understandable.
He also lost to D'vorah
micah white to be fair Dvorah is established to be tough. She’s killed quite a few characters plus she’s more than one person but an infestation so it’s like being double teamed.

Jade would have been horrified to see what Kotal did in MKX, I wonder if he has mended his relationship with Earthrealm in the events between MKX and MK11. If not, then he is still views them as adversary competitors. One other thing, Does anyone think Kotal has discovered the Truth that D’vorah betrayed him to Shinnok or does he still mistakenly believe she betrayed him to Raiden?

Kotal is a way better kahn than shao kahn.,.,but he makes mistakes which could cost his rule like trying to kill cassie and her team.,.,and also trying to kill the tarkatans.,.,if theres a bigger threat.,.,he should consider the help he can get instead of just trying to kill them. Either way.,.,its good he handed it to kitana
