How often do they re-stock the boat? It's great that you have some access to fresh food items!

That depends on how cheap the FM is. They will usually restock food supplies every 4 to 6 months. Pilots can order groceries whenever we get to port and I occasionally order things from Taiwan whenever there is a boat coming from dry dock. Fuel tankers aka bunker boats also have limited supplies for purchase. The Russians always have a large supply of vodka and cigarettes for purchase well above their normal market price.

Did you bring those tortillas with you? How the heck you get an American brand from Fresno on the boat? lol. Or was this filmed when you were home in the states?

did u have ur own mini fridge? did u pay for ur own groceries beyond what was on the boat? did u have to pay any extra for the baseline boat provided chow? was there any difference between what you ate and the crew? most of the boat crew wasnt making the same wage as the pilot, right?

      Lots of questions there Marc!
My mechanic and I had our own mini fridge and I made a deal with the cook to let me use his freezers. The boat provides food at no cost to the pilot. Part of the boats contract states they will supply room and meals to the pilot. Anytime I wanted food of my own, it would be purchased when we went to port. Aside from that, the pilot is not part of the crew and we do not work for the fishing companies. So regardless of what the guys on the boat made, I was paid for my skill set as a pilot.
