I'm an Independent, and I swear I keep an open mind. Asa Hutchinson completely lost me in that interview. He full well knows what went down in Tennessee. He doesn't live underneath a rock. Like so many politicians, he's afraid to speak to truths that may inconvenience him and his agenda. He's definitely no profile in courage.

As Jesse Jackson said during his Presidential campaign when other candidates brought up that he’s Black, basically to try to get him to say that he’s a candidate for Black people only, “My race is self evident.” In other words, it’s not up for a vote, it shouldn’t be considered a factor or issue for political discussion, but he knew that for the other candidates it was.
To say race wasn’t a factor here is to straight up lie. It’s self evident that it was.
Same here. Host gave him a question where Hutchinson could have earned by respect. But Hutchinson blathered a big nothing, rather than state a position. I'd still prefer Hutchinson over Trump. But that's like saying I'd rather have a broken finger than a broken arm. The parties need to provide candidates that I can vote FOR, rather than candidates I hate least.

Even if the Tennessee house had a legitimate reason for expelling the lawmakers, I can’t for the life of me imagine how they thought this was a good look for the GOP. If it only has to do "with what Tennessee state legislators do on (their) House floor", shouldn't that same principle also apply to Tennessee's federal legislators as well, whose actions on the floor of the Congressional House of Representiaves on January 6, 2021 led directly to the insurrection on that same fateful day?
Recently, referring to the January 6 insurrection Tennessee State Rep. Jeremy Faison says that he "didn't see any (Tennesssee legislative) members in Congress try to take over" on that day, which statement of his is a complete, out and out lie.
All of Tennessee's federal House Representatives sitting in Congress on January 6, 2021 (you know, Tennessee's "members"), voted against certifying the 2020 election of Joe Biden as the duly elected president who would take office on January 20, 2021.
In fact, seven of Tennessee's current nine members now holding seats in the US Congress were among those who objected to those 2020 US presidential results.
The names of those seven current Tennessee "members" who voted on January 6, 2021 against certifying the election of Joe Biden as President of the United States are:

It must be found that any quorum of state legislatures (RULES) . That a legislature may be removed from duty for arguing an issue on behalf of the people he/she represents. Such Rule must be found Unconstitutional Upon it's Face.
It is a legislature's job or duty to represent his/her community as which they were elected. During the heat or passion of arguments over an issue shall not be used as grounds for dismissal of an elected official.

The true truth is that you DO have to give up your convictions in order to compromise. There is no other way to do it. If people can't even recognize that simple truth then it makes sense why they can't understand continued opposition. Compromise is one side getting a watered down version of what they want, and the other side NOT getting what they want. Compromise is giving one side a little less than what they want and could likely take as they have the majority. The other side gets nothing.
