Yes, addiction can happen to anybody. It's a sneaky destroyer that attacks people at the most vulnerable times of their lives. The people who make money off of other people's addictions, from the street dealer to the rich and powerful Sackler family who pushed oxycontin by bribing doctors to overprescribe it, are despicable.

The statistics are kept by the FBI and by every state. The Republican party lies about crime to INSTILL FEAR as a way of controlling elections. The Republican party also opposes any regulation of the sale, possession and use of firearms, which are often used in violent crimes. Keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and domestic abusers would save hundreds of lives every year.
