The most egregious instance of what people call illegal immigration now isn't happening at the southern border. It's occurring because people come here legally and then don't leave when they're supposed to. Why isn't that being addressed? Because it isn't a photo op.
The case for asylum is not an easy one to make. I speak from personal experience. Put the resources to adjudicate cases where the resources are needed. Don't eliminate asylum.

Ukraine is also known as the " Bread Basket to The World ! " especially it's vast wheat fields! Coincidentally, a lot of that wheat is shipped to the Middle East via the Bosphus Strait near Turkey ; without that food going to feed millions , many more would die from famine, disease, hunger, and mass starvation! Putin will use any resource, including food, to weaken peoples will to defy his mad dreams of restoring the " Old Russian Empire! "

Some will even admit frankly that if we don't have enough people to work, it will drive inflation. This is a complicated issue, but we in Europe simply are not producing enough kids. It's a byproduct of our rather extraordinary wealth. This happened in 1988, when a new political party in Germany became very strongly anti-foreigner. They were led by a former muffin SS soldier, and the Kohl government immediately went far right. One very prominent member of the party, however, pointed out that we need immigration in Germany in order to pay for our social security. He (Heiner Geisler) was then silenced I never spoke publicly about that issue again.
