@@alexd.5514 The lead clarinet often sit at a concertmasters place, in brassbands they call it principal cornet, he/she is considered "concert master". I think soloists should do it.
@@Down_is_now_up That's true! It's not a widespread custom however like in orchestras where an individual actually holds the title and responsibiltiies, hence why it isn't common practice for all wind ensembles across the world.
@@alexd.5514 I think a principal cornet have more responsibilities than a principal clarinet (especially if the wind band has an ok oboist, 'cause then he/she will tune the band, I guess), but less than a concertmaster in an orchestra.
