iPad Pro 12.9" vs Galaxy Tab S7+ | General Note-taking Experience!

- I'm a little late to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ party... but better late than never! In this video, I compare this tablet to my personal iPad Pro 12.9" and touch on the general note-taking experience you get with both.

I felt like this video did not do samsung justice. I use it everyday for class and it has dozens of more features than what he mentioned.
Yeah. I get the feeling he just really into and knows his Apple devices. I feel like he's not really familiar with the Samsung features.
*He admits it a few minutes in. He uses the iPad pro as his daily driver so he'll naturally have a knowledge bias for that.
Ahaa, that's nice to hear. Because this video actually made me consider getting S7+. It's right that he didn't go into detail. But in comparison with other videos I watched, seeing them side to side & how spectacular the S pen is performing, it really opened my eyes.
@@blackaopsagency i use the samsung notes app, I have done for years though on my note 8 and 9.
Completely agree
Indeed! He's stuck on sketching with a pen. Here is an excellent video on features... and this guy uses his fingers too!

Just got mine in the mail today. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
You can attach the S Pen to the top of the tablet as well (holding it horizontally/landscape mode), won't charge there, but just for keeping.
Pen doesnt need to be charged to be used. It only needs to be charged if you want to use it to take pictures or do off-screen gestures.
@@jasonraven321 That is correct. I was just pointing it out to let people know that connecting it to the back was not the only way.
@@mrmedoali4200 Awesomeness 😁👍
That back top placement is the dumbest idea of where to store and charge a stylus for a tablet lol
It seems like they only did that to show customers how dumb it is and that’s basically a requirement to buy the separate keyboard case to hold it there so it doesn’t just fall off and get lost lol
@@bryanmiller476 even if you keep attached to the side it can still get lost both on ipad and tabs7. atleast samsung is giving the way to keep it safe on their keyboard.. whereas apple doesnt have any side protection or pen protection from the expensive magic keyboard if you somehow drops it.
Could you do a comparison video between Samsung Notes vs Goodnotes 5 / Notability? This would be the first video of its kind on RUclips.

I hope both tablets become strong enough to be a better choice than laptops in their price range
@@abze1165 ..ipad already is
I agree. The Tab S7+ and Fold 2 could easily make more incentive for developers to make tablet apps!
@@sarthakyadava you can't resize apps on ipad, you don't have a proper desktop on ipad, the file manager is super trash on ipad, you have less apps on ipad, you don't have a proper mouse on ipad, you can't arrange icons on ipad. So yeah, the iPad is not even close to a laptop replacement
@@abze1165 i have the tab s7 and imo both are good enough
I personally like S pen more. Subjectively feels more like writing with "real pen" with decent friction. I think apple pen's smooth feeling is good for swiping but too slippery for writing or drawing for my taste. (And I mainly use tab for drawing)
I sold my ipad pro 2020 with its magic keyboard and its Apple Pencil, with that cash I bought the Tab S7+ and am super happy with my decision.

@@maasai- i am being logical here, Tab S7+ is way more practical than an Ipad Pro 2020, I tried them both and I faced many restrictions with Ipad pro, i have a lot of freedom with Tab S7+, Ipad pro is meant for artists, am no artist, believe me when I say I can do so much more with Tab S7+.

Samsung Dex,
easy file management,

ability to write on images, or any screen,

I don't see Ipad Capable of doing these.
Everybody reviews it like gaming performances, benchmarks, screen refresh rates, graphical interfaces etc, but noone really does this kind of review. I'm and engineer, I take a lot of notes about my work, doodles, reminders, calculations on paper and so on. I full up a notebook about every month. Thank you for your review.
So what device did you choose? I'm very thorn between iPad Pro 12'9 and TabS7+ (I'm in engineering too)

@@aryankumarprasad1574 I ended up buying an ipad, I’m not into the “buy Apple because it’s cool” thing but I really like how it feels when I’m writing notes and such, in the end though many other tablets are valid
Tab S7s native Samsung Note app is super simple and very intuitive. Native PDF sign and annotate, shape correction, voice note to match note taking, sync with Samsung or Microsoft One Note, auto alignment of notes, etc. There's a ton of function that leaves little to be desired.
Yep
All videos on comparison or review are stick to note-taking, it seems like all RUclipsrs are Apple's notebook salesmen and selling it to students. Few are covering drawing or video editing too, but how many artists are there! Or some are just talking about specifications like Chip, Speakers, Cable, Ram, Storage or refresh rate, unlocking speed in nano-second difference, thickness, which iPad support which pencil or keyboard, we know them. We need review not specification. No One shares the actual experience working on an iPad or Android tablet.
I'm sharing my experience for business/job people:
If you are a seller:
-If you are a seller on social media then Gallery Management is good in Android as you can easily manage folders. iPad folders are bad. Even selecting multiple items on iPad is time-consuming where you have better in Samsung with touch and drag.
-if you copy and paste a lot, then Samsung is better because it has a good clipboard and remembers many copied items together, you can paste them together.
-Whatsapp, FB, and Instagram Automatic reply apps save time which are on Android not on iOS.
-Whatsapp is not available on the iPad.
If you need for general office use:
-MS Office: You can't open two files at a time. You will have to close first and then second open. You need to buy MS Office 365 for Rs. 4200 per year. Free is only viewing, not editing. (Both iPad/Android). It can't replace your laptop.
-Email experience is almost the same on both of them.
-File sharing and file opening is poor on iPad as it doesn't open Zip Files.
-if you like using multiple accounts on Whatsapp or Skype, then Samsung offers dual messenger which installs one more same app on the device for the second account. Besides this, Android has Skype lite also which means you can run 3 Skype on one tablet.
-importing/exporting from pc to tablet is easier on Android, you can transfer anything. On iPad, you can transfer limited things.
-iPad offers automation settings like if this happens then do this, which is nice.
-searching in device: Apple does is faster.
From Brands:
-Apps on the iPad App Store are better than apps on Samsung because many developers make apps for iPad but not for Samsung.
-Support: you get more support on iPad from Apple, like software updates with new features but Samsung is slow in it and leaves you after some time. No updates, no new features.
-Resale value: both poor.
-Repair or Maintenance: Apple is more expensive.
-Privacy: I believe privacy is not only about locking the device, but also when you handover your unlocked device to someone, where Samsung wins because it has a secure folder (transfer any app or content there and access there only) as well as a private gallery.
-Samsung Dex looks cool but not so good because apps are not customized for this. Samsung own apps and few apps work fine in Dex, so not that effective.
-iPad gets connected to Apple devices nicely, even screen sharing, file sharing etc.
For you:
Samsung: Seller, normal job, Gallary, Privacy from friends/family, General Things, Organizing things,
Apple: Student, Artists, Privacy from outside world, Apps, have iPhone & Macbook, Show-off,
Im more towards customizability so I am definitely getting the s7 plus, while it isnt as secure and stuff and a complete app market and such, I will say that when youre on a budget, note taking is a must cause of college, and you have been in the android ecosystem for literally your entire life, it is a god send!
I mean I am a samsung s7 plus user and honestly as a previous iPad user I love samsung s7 plus as it is much more better for my eco system as it compliments all my notes and laptop and plus alot more economically convenient. Samsung notes is just amazing to use, it's free, s pen is also free, u get two things u need for note taking for free and I think samsung notes goes head to head with good notes or notability. It's just so much efficient to use.

Dude you said note taking experience in heading .. but mostly it seems a promo of tab s7 , nemo or paper like. It would have been great to have 5 mins video comparing best app of ios and best on android according to you.
Few areas that you can cover
- types of paper
- can we have different types of papers in one book / note group
- can we mix match portrait and landscape
- can import pdfs
- storage/ cloud backup support
- different os compatibility
- subscription type
- adding book covers
- any advantage to be part of ecosystem such as air drop and in samsung case if one had samsung phone does app provide some benefits
- multiple logins
Is anybody else thrown off by the size difference? I know they're technically the same size but different aspect ratio, however I just don't think I can get used to 16:9
I use 16:9 every day on my entertainment and work computers and on my phone too, but those devices have very different purposes. My ipad I use mostly for reading: books, websites (Like social media or wikipedia were you actually read a lot and not just watch media) and occasionally write. This just feels more comfortable on a vertical 4:3 screen.
Which is a shame because I remember that Samsung was the other big company that also used to sell 4:3 aspect ratio tablets, but on these very fancy new devices it's not there. I would honestly prefer Android as an ecosystem vs iPados because I like versatility and customizeability but not without 4:3. The Google Slate and Chromebook tablets were looking promising for this very reason of 4:3 and the OS and App situation was getting a bit better but now that Google killed that project as predicted, all other hardware vendors also abandoned it and there are no longer being produced or updated at all.
it's actually 16:10 but yeah I like 3:4 better too
Agreed, for a serious productivity tool which the price tags and the complexity suggest, I also much prefer the 4:3 factor.
Ipad pro is 12.9 and tab s7+ is 12.4, so ipad is bigger. You should compare 11 inch models of both.
@@Merlin-wo4dj the 11 inch iPad pro is still bigger

I really think the biggest plus for samsung is the samsung dex feature, paired with the keyboard cover it basically becomes a very powerful little laptop that you can use for programming and other stuff (geogebra and mathlab for example). as an engineering student, I love it.
Edit after 1 year of using the tablet: unfurtunally you cannot program on it as there is no IDE for the tablet. With that being said I have loved taking notes on this thing this past year. I have probably written hundreds of pages of notes on this tablet and it's been a blast. I paid 800 euros for this thing and I have to say it was probably the best investment I've done. I have completely phased out pen and paper.
You can’t program on it, even with Samsung dex
Is it really a good device for engineering? I’m about to go to 3rd year for Mech. Engineering and I’ll probably need something that can handle C++ programming and CAD

You can get a lot of great gen 2 pros on ebay. Like a 512gb one for $600 with a 1st gen pencil included.
I have the money to buy it, but I wouldn't waste it on an overpriced tablet. I can do everything and have a better experience with the Tab S7 at a way lower price. So I bought the Galaxy Tab S7 and the iPad Mini 5 (2 months ago). Absolutely love both, but the Tab S7 is on another level! I would never buy an iPad Pro, because it's overpriced and the Galaxy Tab S tablets are better to me, so makes no sense to pay $300 more for something I like less. I also love the iPad Minis because their size is awesome and they are still premium, equal to the iPad Airs (except the new one), and are not way overpriced, but still overpriced ($400). I'm a huge fan of both, Apple and Samsung. ☺️
Please do an apps comparison. I've been searching RUclips for a video like that and never found one. It's a decisive subject to me.

Battery
SPen (works without battery, battery allows bluetooth features like air gestures)
Samsung Dex
Speakers (both are great, but I'm a heavy media consumer and people said the tab's were better)
16:9 ratio (some people prefer the ipad's ratio, but I find the 16:9 nicer for my usage)

I am 100% into the Tab S7+, because I am a gaming guy, so having a big screen device with fantastic resolution, along with 120hz will definitely satisfy me in that case, also I am picking the S7+ not only because it's got functions that the iPad pro doesn't, but also because it's actaully worth it's price unlike those money hungry mobile phones that we have nowadays, I personally think that tablets such as the Tab S7+, are far more impressive than than the money eating Note 20 Ultra.

Why s7 plus is better than ipad 8th gen
Wow, thanks. I can’t believe that Tab S7+ is looking that much smaller
@Ken88 well, the screen sizes are measured in diameter. With the same diameter, a screen will have the biggest area if it’s square. The more rectangular the aspect ratio is, the smaller the surface area. So, the small difference in specsheets is less relevant than the aspect ratio itself.

The ipad pro 128gb is 999$ and a extra 100$ for apple pen, whereas the s pen is free, with expandable storage
• 256gb is 1099 plus 100 for apple pen
• 512gb is 1299 plus 100 for apple pen
So basically, you're paying 100$ more for the base iPad pro, $200 more the 256, and $400 for the top ipad pro storage, than the top s7+
Apple Air is $599 for 64gb with no expendable memory? And 32gb for 329$ lol. Apple knows that their users are oblivious. And this is why we say iphone ppl are dumb.
You can get the galaxy tab s7 11 inch with 128gb internal and expendable memory for 649$. The only thing that the ipad can do better is edit videos faster. Other than that, there's no advantage
Apple ppl have the same lame excuses as to why "iPad is better " because of the A chip
1. Performance is basically the same ( except for video editing) ask apple ppl in what dept is the performance better or where the chip really matters. They'll say gaming and video editing
2. Apps eventually go over to Android
3. Benchmarks means nothing when it comes to day to day use
4. Samsung gets security patch updates every month and now 3yrs of software updates. Who the hell wants to keep a device for 5 years when tech is moving so fast. 3 years is Enough. I personally trade in my Samsung device yearly with Samsung trade in program and split the difference. But Apple ppl like "we get 5 years of software updates " only apple ppl dumb enough to keep the same boring hardware for 5yrs while tech gets better. Heres your cookie
5. Samsung has its own ecosystem too. Buds, phone, watch, tablets, and laptops all works together
Tab S7+ is better value for the money
Not really
Watching this on my 12.9 2020 iPad Pro, still think its the better choice for the majority of people just because of the app selection and developers being more focused on the iPadOS side of things
Apple Pencil VS Spen :
-Spen does not need to be charged to work
-Spen does not cost extra 120$, and is still cheaper to buy alone.
-Spen has a real shortcut button VS touch tapping
-Spen is tip is thinner and more stylus like than Apple pencil

-Spen has more integrated features (Screen capture, translate, magnifying glass, etc.)
-You cannot browse the Ipad using only with the pencil, but you can with the Spen.

I've really been enjoying android/samsung as of late. I upgraded my XR to a S20. Mixed with my 18 Pro its the best of both worlds. Although I'm missing a few features mainly airdrop they actually compliment each other fairly well in my day to day. (Using sendanywhere for transferring photos and videos)

My only concern is if I take notes on s7, is there a way I can access easily on my iPhone?
Can the note taking app on samsung export to a cloud drive like Google and I can access them on my iPhone?
Samsung is way better for media consumption but in my opinion iPad Pro is better for everything else. I have the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 for work and the Tab S6 for general reading/media consumption. The magic keyboard and the apple pencil two outclass Samsung's accessories by a mile.

Well I was in the same dilemma, I decided to get the s7+instead as the s pen is free and is softer and there is 9ms pen latency on both but the s7 I believe has a longer pen latency but not too bad.
The Super amoled is bright up to 600nits I think
The m1 chip if you're editing vids would be helpful but I heard some people say that for gaming the s7 is as good. The m1 chip is stronger too.
You should get the ipad if you have a lot of apple devices so u can utilize the apple ecosystem and vice versa.
You should also consider the apps you use as it might not be optimized on the tab s7+ or not in the Google app store.

Hey noah, awesome video. Please do a full review of the s7. Thank you. Love from Fiji.
with the coronavirus and remote work people are heading more towards tablets and Samsung should push the limits and compete on the market they did a great job with the tab s7+ the problem is their marketing plan I can't find the tab s7+ in my country Morocco only s7, and I can't find the LTE version in amazon EU stores a big struggle
Here in Bulgaria we only have 128gb 5g, 4g and wifi models of both s7 and s7+. Sadly no 256gb option.
@@nikoolay I really don't know why they do so ! btw the 256gb has 8gb of ram
Its not a fair comparison, the Tab S7+ screen is just bad in general, burned highlights and all AMOLED (included the Oled screens) are bad for your eyes because all have PWM, AMOLED is not suited for tablets and I hope companies will replace them soon from the phones with a healthy option. I'm a Tab S7 owner, I'm very happy that Samsung put a better technology in that model without PWM.
New iPad Pro concept to ABSOLUTELY DESTROY the Galaxy Tab S7+: ruclips.net/video/UVZL-G0gK2o/видео.html
Bro which pen is more comfortable .S pen or Apple pen..
Please 🙏 let me know
Hate the 16x9 shape for tablets
Fun fact: Apple's displays are provided by Samsung.
That's not really a valid argument since tons of companies do that.
Bought the Tab S7+ when it fist launched and absolutely do not regret it, amazing device. Paperlike needs to come out with a screen protector for the Tab S7+.
do you think paperlike would even work with the rubber tip on the s pen? (genuine question) it's more than enough for me; I like the rubber tip. just enough friction for me
@@squirtleblaster paperlike works nicely on Tab S7+
More coverage about tab s7+ please
pls do a complete in depth comparison between the ipad pro and the tab s7+
I never used apple ipad or its pencil or Samsung tablet...I went to their showroom but beleive me I liked wacom pencil provided by Samsung better than apple pencil... Every youtuber are used to apple products so it's natural to be biased but for newcomer wacom is better why it's light, to easy to grasp and its not that much thick compare to apple pencil, pencil tip is small so you will be more closer to your display and have a better experience Plus rubbery tip of wacom gives more better feel while writing while apple pencil making tok-tok sound and its hard also feel is not that much good... Its just an opinion as both devices are new to me.. Felt worth to share
Android person here, I do own an iPad pro 10.5 which I love but I do miss screen mirroring, to make it more like a pc.
You mean Dex?
@@farishakim6759 Not really. It is "link to windows" that is in samsung smartphone. You can screen mirroring your samsung smartphone to your PC, laptop, or smart tv. Unfortunately, samsung dont put this feature on their tab s7 and s7+ . But they have smart view, both in their tabs and smartphone. Almost pretty same with "link to window" feature.
I am planning to buy a tablet ...In your opinion which tablet is better for photo editing , video editing etc ....
@Ken88 thanks bro 😃👍
Buying ipad for video editing is nonsense...Go for a laptop or Microsoft surface pro 7 or Book 3
Ipados and Android are weak video editing os.....I have a 2017 ipad pro..so I'm talking from experience....I'm currently using dell xps 15 2 in 1 for editing
@@emmakolff3744 thanks bro 😃👍
👋 hey noah
Just plz make a compression between galaxy s7 and ipad pro 2018
You already have done this for air 4 and pro 2018 but now I'm having problem choosing s7 or pro 2018 to buy
Thank you , your channel has always helped me
Samsung is no where close to Apple's performance. The tab s7+ only gets 957 single core and 2683 multi core, while the pro gets 1121 single core and 4550 multi core. So basically what am trying to say if your going to be doing a lot of hardcore stuff like (gaming, editing , making any content at all) u should get the pro, if u just want a tablet for like skl or just to watch yt I guess the tab s7 is good enough 😪.+ Your iPad won't overheat like the s7 does sometimes(when gaming and editing 4k videos for a long time)
This comment is just to show some spec's n my personal experience so don't come in this comment with no bs!
Samsung does keep up really really well compared to what u said about the S7. It's not just a device that is only capable of school work or just simply watch RUclips because the gaming performance and editing on the tab S7 is absolutely excellent no doubt.
Who edits a 4k video on a tablet??
@@Yokie05 the imaginary users that Apple/Apple consumers seem to always remember. If they do exist, then they are very lucky, lol
Please make a video on s7+ after the new update.
Tab S 7Plus All Day !!! Good Buy iPad 💯
@Ken88 haha so punny
This is such a hard decision
Not reaaly what you expect abot, when you see the title. No matter how smooth the pencil, also no matter tactil filling. My interest is does any has some killer feature, that you cannot find in another one, like audio and notes sinchronization (ipad app only).
@Noah Herman Hey Noah , I'm Just Curious Do you have a Discord server?
Because in your previous video of the setup you said about keeping discord open always.
Noha which of those would you suggest for gaming cause I am thinking to buy one
iPad Pro 12.9" vs Galaxy Tab S7+ | General Note-taking Experience!
Loved the vid but i laughed at the end cuz you really encapsulated the attitude towards apple products these days
Throughout the vid you talk about how great the tab s7 is but in the end you’d still rather use the apple variant because you’re already there HAHA
So true. He has no clue. Such a fanboy lol.
Hey dude can we do both taking notes and video observation at the same time?
Mac or android which is user friendly with microsoft apps.
Please tell me.
Do a video on Apps Comparison (all categories) for both the tablets and also with the keyboard covers comparison with Samsung DeX and Magic Keyboard for iPad
