I don't understand the hate tbh. Toronto and Montreal have great atmospheres. Toronto has also been competitive (winning a championship) in every professional sport that they share with the USA. Toronto also makes move to bring big players to the MLS. Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver are all big markets. Much bigger than a lot of current MLS teams. As for Jesse, he is a failure in Europe. Outside of Austria (a league that RB can win without a coach) he has be dreadful. Most Canadians don't want him.
take your atmosphere to canada league, canada should and could become a great league with those 3 teams moving them and then fight for International titles as canadians and not as MLS (American League)
Well I don't see it as hate. I see it as now Canada started their own professional league. There is a place for these Canadian professional level teams to go now. Things are progressing and I see it as a positive move and not being hateful. They can continue to be great teams with great atmospheres. As for Jesse Marsch, I don't know how he'll do but I agree with your take on his track record.
MLS owns the rights too everything, they wouldn't give up those rights just because the man running the franchise wants to move them to the CPL and out of MLS. They would just shut down the franchise and re-locate it somewhere else and the owner would need to sell his shares and start a brand new team for the CPL.
I think MLS should combine with Liga MX and Canadian League. The competition would improve the league. Imagine a North American soccer league with no salary cap. It could easily become one of the best leagues in the world.
Keep football local. If they want a separate competition outside their domestic leagues (which I am not in favor of either), that's the only way this idea is even closely too acceptable.
Yeah, honestly, Toronto is a really powerful market for sports of all kinds. The idea that MLS would just kiss that goodbye is a little naive. It's a business first. Why would it be any different than baseball, basketball, hockey, and every other major sport league in North America?
While I’d like for Canadian teams to leave MLS to open more opportunities to grow the game in American markets, it makes zero financial sense for MLS and the 3 teams to kick them out, or to leave on their own. Maybe in 15-20 years if the CPL can develop into a league better than USL it could happen.
What we really need is a creative structure that allows a league that is larger then 32 teams so that American cities that want to participate don't feel resentment to Canadian teams being involved. I could imagine a Canadian division in a kind of divisional laddering system (Pro/rel but a division level) But I would also be cool with Canadian MLS teams in the CPL. See you Concacaf Champions League/cup.
Drew, why are you in my head? I was just thinking about this because of the Canadian Championship. They take several levels of teams in Canada to participate like we do for US Open Cup. Those teams get to do both! And and ..the reward is a Champions Cup spot. That is not fair imo. Someone told me the reason they probably won't be removed from MLS is because of the investment itself from the owners of the clubs. They paid to be part of MLS, so how can that change now? Yes, I'm with you on this. Let's transition those clubs out of MLS and let them play Canadian Premier League ball.
they can get bouthgout by the new team opening in America. But, time for them to leave! We are doing them a favor as most of their national team play in MLS or jump from MLS to Europe.
it makes a full sense, Canada now has a league and moving these 3 teams to Canadian League could set a better future for Canadian Soccer. Then they can participate and represent Canada and not MLS (american league). We have many other cities in America ready to join MLS but with 3 teams taking space who are not American is not helping. Not sure why canadians love to be around American for their failure of creating something great for them.
@@extraterrestre1590 Lol multiple countries participate within another countries league even within Europe , its about money and population why wouldnt you have those three markets as they are bigger than many american markets you act like its strictly about development its also about money
No one give DAM on what you say LOSSER. Soccer is a big mainstream sport in North America and is arguably more bigger than baseball and basketball nowadays. Simple reason is because of Ted Lasso and those who say soccer is their first sport, they're likely watching Ted Lasso. And the Manchester Derby surpassed baseball, basketball and hockey on the day of the FA Cup finals with a viewership of 150 million regarding of the population of the continent due to them being the richest on the planet, especially in North America, #ProRelForUSA #HaalandIsTheGOAT
Hmmm I don’t agree with you. Canada has been part of the MLS from the beginning, it’s like the Canadian teams in the NHL and the MLB. They make the leagues better, this is why I hope the Mexican teams go back on their decision to have the Leagues Cup. The only one benefiting from it is the U.S. both sportingly and financially. So screw them huh
I wouldn't use MLB as an example. They quite literally did what this guy is in favor for, moving Canada (at least with the Expos) away and into an American city (Nationals)
Yessssssssss! Time for canadians to get out! It's not hate but this is an American league not North America League. We have more American cities ready to launch teams but with those 3 in place is quit dificult. Adios Amigos!

And yet, he was fantastic for us during Copa America
As a Montreal fan I would them to join the CPL
A true fan
@@kickingitwithdrewaway days are 10x better within Canada. I agree at first it made sense but now it’s time to separate and develop our own league

Let’s gooooo

The Canadian teams are good though people forget that Toronto almost put MLS on the map
Yeah, honestly, Toronto is a really powerful market for sports of all kinds. The idea that MLS would just kiss that goodbye is a little naive. It's a business first. Why would it be any different than baseball, basketball, hockey, and every other major sport league in North America?
I totally disagree
It’s ok
I actually think MLS is going to go the super league route. Wanting Canadian and Mexican teams.
I can totally see this happening as well

That’s just how it works xoxoxo
CPL isn’t on a good level yet but by them mls will be bigger
How dare you be in favor of my excuse to travel to Canada for at least twice a year (NYCFC supporter). Heresy!
What we really need is a creative structure that allows a league that is larger then 32 teams so that American cities that want to participate don't feel resentment to Canadian teams being involved. I could imagine a Canadian division in a kind of divisional laddering system (Pro/rel but a division level) But I would also be cool with Canadian MLS teams in the CPL. why? Canada already has a league time for them to join them and make their league better.

Make MLS great again 🤣

We should kick backwater cities like _Nashville_ out of the league
😧

Why don’t American teams get out of NHL then?
