Great loft extension! Excellent solo builder skills👍. Best wishes throughout the young birds season. You're certainly doing all you can to ensure their health and wellbeing. Good luck!
Sir im a pigeon racer here in the Philippines. Unfortunately due to busy and hectic schedule on my school i am forced to stop my hobby. And by this video you remind me how i built my loft by my self alone. But not that kind of big loft. I really miss mg birds. When i graduate in college and have a career ill promise my self to go back to my beloved hobby
Hello Sean! can you give us an update what happened to Aloha Pigeons? My son and I really miss your uploads and we enjoyed watching your videos. I hope you're always fine. God bless... Aloha!
This is what my friend Jeff is telling me, both of you have the same ideas, the importance of ventilation. Keep up the good work. You are an encouragement.:-)
Hey Sean, another great video! I am in my later stages of building my first loft and have used lots of your ideas. This video couldn't have come at a better time. Thanks again
Unreal! Best video yet. Thanks for sharing! I appreciate your attention to the details in building your loft. You must sleep very well at night as you work your tail off! Very handy guy too... Hope your season goes well! I can't believe you are only 3 years into the sport. Keep us posted on how it is going; keep the videos coming! Thanks again!
Incredimazing looking loft and extension, Sean. You did a fantastic job on it. The birds will benefit from all your hard work I'm sure. Thanks for sharing another great video.. Aloha!... Kevin
What I like most about your videos is you do everything without extra hands. That’s really cool and motivational. Sometimes an extra set of hands can really help, but after seeing most of your videos I really think you don’t need a set.
Good morning Sean, love the saying that goes like this. Build it and they will come. Based on old timers saying train birds hard and they will find there way home. Since long distance training here is limited. I agree to what you were saying. On race day hopefully birds will fly in a flock as they fly there GPS is on remembering there path. As they reach Makapuu point they'll know how to come home. And this would be there long distance toss. Hopefully this will build in there memory.
Good morning Sean, with the help and info from you and the mainland I think I've learned some things. But I think I need to learn more on the health part. With vaccinations, vitamin supplements, minerals and feed. And the season on molting. Yes young bird season is tough to do. I think it's the band being delivered to late in Dec. that holds up early breeding. Thanks for the invite I'll try and contact Brian to see if we can come by together. Take care and thanks again.
Hay one of the best videos you did so far birds look great and it was good to see Bob again you sure you're not a carpenter because you no what your doing keep up the good work and the the videos coming good luck in 2018 🐦
Good morning Sean, in theory toss training from 3 release points on Oahu. Kahala 17 miles, HawIi Kai 21 miles, and Makapuu 23 miles. Which I call Bay zone, Central zone and Mountain zone. With the Skyleader GPS one can track the flying path. After 3 zone tosses one can see if birds will fly straight home or detour some where within the zones. As you do more of your toss training one would have a better idea where birds path are flying. Theory flying races from Big Island or Maui. With limited toss miles on Oahu. I agree what you were saying. Staying with a large flock ( 1000 + birds ) and flying together is good. This will educate birds and they will learn there way home. The more they fly the more they learn. I believe when they reach Makapuu they should know there way home. Are you going to use your GPS device on race day. On toss train are you using GPS device and timer.
What a brilliant video and superb loft, you really are giving pigeon racing your best shot. If I had to give you some advice it would be to invest in some top pigeons. Go to 3 local fanciers who are at the top of the results and get youngsters off their very best birds, late breds are a good bet as they are more likely to give you these or even get eggs off them. Cross these birds don't keep them pure....I did and until I crossed them we had no success. This along with your brilliant loft and husbandry will surely bring you success. Look forward to your next post. All the best from a very chilly West Cumbria England
Great job..I have a question about the light and how you go about inducing a molt..maybe you could do a small video or if anyone out there is reading this maybe you can share your experience..many thanx in advance for all input..
Thank you! I will be sure to include more info about lighting in the future. But briefly, as soon as the birds go in the flying loft I make sure they have about 20 hours of light. They will drop their flights. Then about halfway through April I will cut about half an inch off the tips of the 9th and 10th flights. I then pull the 9th and 10th flights and stop using the lights on May 1st. With the normal daylight hour they then drop their body feathers. The birds start to loft fly again when the 9th and 10th flight grow back in the early part of June.
Damn bro can you send me the diagrams that whole loft did you just put together for front to back top to bottom I was watching your video and that is absolutely fantastic that’s a beautiful law I’ve seen a lot of loss over the years but that’s nice you did a great job on that
sean if your having trouble with electric wires you should be able to contact the electric company and ask them to come out and put colored marker balls on the wires so they are easier for the birds to see that's what we do in Ireland anyway and they have no problem doing it. love the videos by the way.
Thank you! I live in Hawaii which is part of the US. You're absolutely right, this hobby does take a lot of time and dedication and is not easiest on your own with a full time job. Aloha!
Great upgrade on the loft ! Love the design 😁🙂 lol man the extra feet up in the air is great more air vent 🙂. Unm, breed early is always good because you have a better chance of having winners or breeding winners 😊! Try not to use too much medication but whatever works do it for your birds and do so as you observe your birds everyday. Settling your birds unm I would just wait until there a month and half old. More light is way better 🙂 birds need that vitamin ✓ ! 🙂 Would also say let them take a bath every weekend or on your schedule. Keep the long videos coming & like the video you took from the roof of your house because it helps your bird to not have bad habits like landing on your roof or your neighbor etc
Nice job ...I like the clear roofing material very nice looking loft how many YB you are hatching 🐣. I’m going to have about 45 this year . Training for the first 150 Mile race but the weather is crappy here for the next two weeks I hope I get some break to go at list 50 Miles couple times . I lost two old birds to electric wires also
The first young bird race last year for the island of Oahu had 46 lofts participating and 1331 birds entered. I have about 60 birds in my breeding loft and 60 birds in my flying loft.
My dad was a friend of his when he used to come over to my dads place for pigeons and I heard he was doing piloting for Hawaiian airlines now. last I heard
Greetings from Holland, can you advice me how to keep cats away from my pigeons, as we have lots of house/stray cats in Holland, I do want my pigeons to be free out side in loft, and they be free to come and go when they wish.
Good job bro... im glad to see you again ... you inspired me to take pigeon as my pet... now im happy with them your tips and ideas making me to become experience in this field .. i need from you , tell me how to vaccinate pigeon ?
I'm very happy to hear you're enjoying your pigeons. That's a great idea, I will make a video about how I vaccinate my pigeons. For PMV I use a vaccination gun with a short needle so I don't have to worry about going to deep. The gun is adjustable so you can set the volume to be administered with one full squeeze which makes it a lot easier and also safer for the birds. I roll the top half of the bird in the bottom of my shirt so they can't move much and can't see anything. With the bird on its back, I pull the leg farthest from me up and out a little. I then spray a little rubbing alcohol at the base of the leg and administer the shot under the skin between the base of the leg and body. I will make a video so it's easier to understand. This is just the easiest way I have found to vaccinate when doing it on my own but I would highly recommend having someone to help you for both your safety and the safety of your birds. I hope this helps some. Aloha and thank you for the great question!
Hi Sean, was viewing some of the older videos you made. Must say Brain has a lot of experiences to share. On Molokai tosses no birds lost. Maui lost a few. Now, in prepping for a race off Maui or Big Island. Does your club participates in a combined toss training from these islands. If club does how often is this. If they do it often than bird losses would be very minimal.
Brian has lots of experience and is a great resource. No one I know does Maui training tosses before the first young bird race. I do know that a few flyers did a Maui training toss before the old bird season this year since all of the races are from the Big Island. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to lose young birds on the first Maui race.
Technically yes. HRS 142-102 and HRS 142-103 allow you to have and fly 25 pairs in a residential zone or 200 birds in a non residential zone. If you live in an area that has a home owners association you also have to consider their rules.
You built it like a boss. Just wow! The dedication and effort. Well designed loft with nice pigeons. Love it!
Thank you very much!

Hello, I am a Polish pigeon fancier. Tell me how many of you are at the club and how many pigeons do you have?
The first young bird race last year for the island of Oahu had 46 lofts participating and 1331 birds entered. I have about 60 birds in my breeding loft and 60 birds in my flying loft.
How are you?
I hope everything is ok?

Greetings from Holland, can you advice me how to keep cats away from my pigeons, as we have lots of house/stray cats in Holland, I do want my pigeons to be free out side in loft, and they be free to come and go when they wish.
Nice loft design
I used that same vaccine twice last year, I didn’t notice any side effects on my birds.
Awesome! Thank you!
Man u have mad skills. Looks great
Thank you!
Aloha🤔👊🤙🕶❤️🇵🇭🇺🇸🥊Bradahhh
Wow that’s a nice loft 🕊🕊🕊
Thanks for your response .. im waiting for your next video.. ✌
What bloodline is your pigeon
How are your birds?U racing this year?
Great Video!!! Keep em Coming!
Thank you!
Do you need permit to take care of pigeons here in hawaii?
Technically yes. HRS 142-102 and HRS 142-103 allow you to have and fly 25 pairs in a residential zone or 200 birds in a non residential zone. If you live in an area that has a home owners association you also have to consider their rules.
Are you still racing??
Beautiful loft.
