    My hp25r has sort of failed me , the modes act weird sometimes, the buttons are sticky and the battery seems to run down very quick , I really want the 30 but on the fence because I like running flood and then hit spot , I think nitecore is a better headlamp
    I do like the rotary dial on the 30 , a step up from the sticky buttons

    I work in telco-rigging. During winter the sun sets around 5pm. So this means a lot of work when it’s dark. I also require use of my phone with an app that drains battery:
    To be able see and work in the dark, while charging my phone and having it clip to my helmet is just perfect!

Ordering one today after tearing down the internet for 3 weeks. This has got to be the best headlamp money can buy. However, you made no mention of the australian warranty period. Cannot find it listed anywhere, only for the USA.
    Also, the led is a cree xhp50.2 not xhp50.

      I asked my roommate (the one wearing it while I was filming) after a couple of sessions of turbo and he said it was not as bad as the smaller headlamps we had done in the past. At the same time, we got to film this in December when it was naturally much cooler outside.

    I really am needing your advice…. So i do alot of hiking deep into the mountains and do solo camping alot. I am needing a very good quality headlamp that i can use at medium lumens for daily/ nightly use but then have the ability to access blinding light to immediately see the surrounding area long enough to access any threats etc whether it be 4 legged or 2 legged. I am currently torn between 2 models… the Fenix HP30r with 3000 lumen turbo or the Acebeam H30 with a 4000 lumen turbo. Please advice your opinion on the matter on which purchase I should make?? Thank u so much for ur time. 😊

    • @LonghornTactical
      @LonghornTactical  Год назад

      I honestly do not know Acebeam very well, but I would recommend the Fenix HP30R v2.0 the rotary dial is very intuitive and you just need to twist it to move up and down brightness much faster than mashing or holding a button.

    The rotary switch on mine got very gritty, then the light stopped working completely after 5 weeks. Not happy for such an expensive so called SAR light.

      Once the switch starts getting gritty, it just gets worse, and will fail. They replaced my light, but that doesn't help when I was 2 hours walk in darkness to get back while out hunting.@@vanceplace1349

    What do you recommend for construction work the 70r or 65-T or what do you prefer

    • @LonghornTactical
      @LonghornTactical  2 года назад +3

      HM70R, larger battery for longer runtimes + over the top headband for added security. The HM65R and HM65R-T are very lightweight so if that is primary concern, it would be the only main benefit over the HM70R.

    wow such a beast... i think this is the best headlamp i've seen... rolex of headlamps... but couldn't justify spending 200+ on a headlamp... the harbor freight 900 Lumen for $30 good enough for me for now lol

  • @vanceplace1349
    @vanceplace1349 6 месяцев назад

    This headlamp is really nice but I ordered it on dec 8th 2023 and a little over a month later the rotary switch no longer works. It does not turn on or off at all. Emailed customer service and got no response it’s been over a week. For 220 dollars that’s insane. I’ve had 70 dollar headlamps that have lasted for years. Be careful 220 bucks is a lot to waste.

    Fenix hear me. Many people who wear headlamps daily prefer a tight throw beam so that they can work around others without blinding them.
    Furthermore make the flood independently adjustable. I like the design here it is convenient but it doesn't offer the control some people will want. Click and hold to bind them. Click and hold again to unbind them. Then 1 click to switch between channels for independent adjustment.

      Can't agree as there is no correct/proper way to define most things in life, just that some anal retentive buttplugs like to think that way. I will say I would use CW/CCW if I was looking directly at the knob from the side, but while wearing it I'd clearly say fwd/reverse as that's the direction of use. Find other worthless things to nitpick!
