    Do we have to isolate the battery from the campervan terminal to prevent damage to the vehicles electric or do we just use the jump lead

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  3 года назад +2

      Hi, I am not sure of what you mean. But when charging, you don't need to isolate the battery, as the charger is electronic safe and will not harm any electronics connected to the battery. Connect to the recommended charge points or with the positive clamp to the positive pole on the battery and the negative clamp to chassis. Best regards CTEK Support

    Is it possible to buy a longer permanent connector, so it can be fed through to the front grille, allowing connection/disconnection without having to lift the bonnet?

    Hi so witch mode mode do you put it in when you want it to just trickle charge the battery?

      @CTEKBatteryChargers  Год назад +1

      Hi,
      Thank you for reaching out! 😊
      When using any of the modes except supply it will first bring the battery to 100% SOC then it will move on to just keeping the battery topped up.

    The sensor cable is way too short. What genius thought of that idea. Do you offer a longer version?

      Hi,
      Thank you for reaching out!
      Often the positive clamp is connected close to the battery and the sensor can be ran together with the positive clamp to get a good temperature measuring.

    If I want to leave the battery in my campervan whilst charging it do I have to disconnect the terminals in the vehicle before connecting the MXS10?

      HI, No you don't need to disconnect the terminals from the battery whilst charging. All CTEK chargers are electronic safe. Best regards CTEK Support

    Hi there just bought this my agm 12 v batt was dead so I took it the car and I connected the charger but the lights are on 1 and 2 at the same time what does this mean ?

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  2 года назад +1

      Hi, thank you for reaching out!
      If light 1 and 2 are lit, it means that the charger is in step 2 of the charging process. It can be in that stage for up to 8 hours. After that, the 1, 2 and 3 should be lighted up and that means that the charger is on stage 3 of charging.
      Can we help you with anything else? 😊
      Have a great day! ☀

    Hi! In my car battery located under floor of the trunk, but charging points located in engine compartment. Do I understand correctly that in this case there is no need to attach temperature sensor to the clamp (since it will be far away from battery), and just leave temperature sensor anywhere? Or I may even not connect sensor?

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  4 года назад +3

      HI, I recommend you to attach the temperature sensor any way. If it is a warm day, it will be warm at the connection points as well - and the voltage will be decreased in order not to dry out the electrolyte in the battery and if it is a cold day the voltage will be increased in order do give as effective charge as possible. Best regards CTEK Support

    Hello. I have two leisure battery's hooked together one is an AGM battery HLB800 and the other is a Numax XDT30MF deep cycle battery which I think is a normal acid battery. Would this charger be able to charge them both? Many thanks

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  3 года назад +2

      Hi, If the batteries are hooked up together, the charger will see them as one bigger battery. You don't mention if the batteries are connected in series to a 24V battery bank or in parallell to a 12V battery bank. But please notice that when connecting in series the batteries have to be as similar as possible in order to work properly. This is not as important when connecting in parallell, but there is always a risk for imbalance between the batteries if they are of different sizes and types. I recommend you to talk to the battery manufacturer for a more correct answer concerning your specific batteries. Good Luck. Best regards CTEK Support

    Hi CTEK, i have a Ford Mondeo 2017 with start button(Battery is 12v 75amp). My battery died 2 days ago. So i plugged in your charger on AGM MODE. Is that correct? It can start now, but stays on stage 6. Should i just wait longer untill 7 lights up?

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  Год назад

      Hi! If the recommended charging voltage for your specific battery is 14.7V (slightly higher than "normal") AGM mode is the best mode for you. If it is not recommended to charge with such a high voltage, or if you don't know the recommended charging voltage, you can use the "Normal" mode. Did you choose RECOND mode? Otherwise it should not stop on step 6. Step 7 means the battery is fully charged, but if you need to start the vehicle quickly, you should be able to do so by step 4.

    Hello CTEK!
    I just want to ask how the temperature sensor should be used. Is it worth using at all?
    Because the main thing would be the internal temperature of the battery in such an evening, not the external temperature. So how much more efficient is charging using the sensor?
    Thank you for your reply, have a nice day,
    K.

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  2 года назад +1

      Hi Krisztian. There are two types of temperature checks on the charger. First one is pure safety. When the battery gets to warm to safely charge the charger will scale down or shut down. The other one works through the detachable temperature sensor cable and this is to give an even better charge. When the temperature is higher than +25 C voltage should slowly drop in order not to make the elecolyte loose water when it is colder than +25C the voltage should slowly increase in order to compensate for the slower charge. The charger will work fine even without the temperature sensor connected, but the charge will be even better if it is attached. I hope this explains. Best regards CTEK Support

    안녕하세요 ctek mxs 10 사용자 입니다. 기기의 도움을 많이 받고 있어 감사합니다. 이 충전기는 AGM 배터리에 대해서도 RECON 기능이 활성화 되는 기기인가요? 자료를 찾아보려 하여도 찾을 수가 없어서 물어봅니다. 2년 전 방전된 포르쉐 마칸의 AGM 배터리를 RECON을 해서 사용중인데요 요즘 다른 차량의 AGM 배터리 사용자들이 RECON이 이뤄지지 않는다고 합니다. 원래 이 RECON이 납산배터리에서만 작동이 되는 것인지 아니면 AGM 배터리에서도 이루어지는지 확인이 필요합니다. 감사합니다

    Hi, can I charge my AGM battery overnight while my car fridge is running. The fridge had a 5 amp draw. Would it be best to wait until the battery has reached a certain state of charge before using supply mode?
    Thanks

    • @CTEKBatteryChargers
      @CTEKBatteryChargers  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, If the battery is big and very drained - it might be better to fully charge the battery first (or almost fully charge the battery) and then add the fridge. If the battery is not very big you could chose normal charge mode. The fridge will take 5A and the rest will go to charging the battery. If the battery is fully charged, you could choose the SUPPLY mode in order not to keep the voltage so high on the battery. So my answer will be very wide and depending on battery and state of charge. If you want to know more, contact info@ctek.com and inform more about the battery size and state of charge. Good luck. Best regards CTEK Support

      @CTEKBatteryChargers  3 года назад +1

      Hi. From what I know, the fuse boxes should not be warm if something is not wrong. If you have the possibility to check the voltage and current given from the MXS 10 in SUPPLY mode. Voltage should be 13,6 and current up to 10A. If so - please contact your vehicle workshop for help. Best regards CTEK Support

      Hi. Thank you for reaching out. The issue is most likely oxidation and can be reversed if you connect the charger to mains, but not to a battery and press the mode button frequently. Sometimes it takes 10 times, sometimes it can take 20 times after 3-4 sessions or even more, but most often it will help. The reason to why this happens is that there is moisture within the charger and is often shown when the charger is not used very frequently. I hope this will help you. Kind regards CTEK Support
