this was one of those videos i looked forward to since i heard news about it. absolutely love the hype these videos give, really makes my day to have something to look forward to. thank you, toru! edit: just thought of this, but if at some point down the future you can get both mike and daisuke as guests, you guys should do a duel similar to the one you did for the ghost of tsushima duel video with mike doing the music. kinda making a music video type thing. maybe the samurai theme or just the ghost theme, either one would do nicely. eh, anything from the soundtrack would work, it was all really amazing

I LOVE the idea of this series!! Wish I lived in the LA area so I could do this with Japanese car culture.. but I do plan on going there for a few car meets next year. It would be cool to link up! Either way, keep it up, loving this!
My obaachan studied traditional performance no and shamisen. When I was 15 was visiting at her house when she came home from a rehearsal and three sensei felt that it was time obaachan did namaetsuke. She was uncomfortable while the rest of us thought it was a great honor. Obaachan passed away many years ago, but I believe my appreciation for the Arts both Japanese and Western I inherited from her. When I was attending college as electives I took voice (singing) and musical theater. I also sang in a Church choir. I never obtained the level of a master as my obaachan (sobo) [grandmother]. I was once at an Americanized matsuri and there was a musician playing an electric shamisen.

Mike Penny! He doesn’t know it but he’s my shamisen teacher. His and Kyle Abbott’s video lessons form the basis of everything I know about shamisen.
