They say its a prequel but it really feels more like a reboot. Plenty of stuff happens in this movie that completely contradicts and does not match up with the other films.
I hope its a reboot cuz I want to just weave into a new whole series. I love the first 2007 film and the 3rd film has a good place in my heart, but this is the Transformers film Ive sorta been waiting for. Love the design of these Transformers and loved its direction toward the end. Was hoping for an Autobots tease or a Megatron in ice tease and we did get one of those. Hope to get more with Travis Knight
Transformers (7/10) Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen (6.4/10) Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon (6.9/10) Transformers 4: Age of Extinction (6.5/10) Transformers 5: The Last Knight (5.5/10) Bumblebee (9.4/10)
I freakin cried this movie was the best one yet. The g1 transformers. The sounds they made. Bumblebee. His voice! Optimus! The fights. Especially the one with bumblebee and idk his name but the jet in the beginning. So rad and amazing. Hugh fan of the 3rd one but this tops that
Mannnnnn Jazz got done dirty in the first movie and he’s always been one of the coldest characters in the series. Idk what made them think that was a good decision to kill him off and never put him in another movie.
Travis Knight wanted to make something different from Michael Bay and remember Michael Bay only cares about the visuals and Travis Knight cares about the story and he wanted to dedicate this movie to the old transformers G1 fans and I like this movie 100x better then the Bay Films
I just seen this last night beautiful movie. I was really not looking forward to romance that was building up with this movie cuz I expected it to be corny. However, it was really well done. I personally did not find the 80’s theme to be over the top because I kept forgetting that was the setting. I would ask myself ‘why are they using cassettes? Oh wait!’ And the cars for the time period. I found it to be well done. ANGELA BASSETT DID AN AWESOME JOB WITH SHATTER. This was the best transformers for me
I'm surprised Bumblebee vs Dropkick was your favorite fight from the series. I agree it was good and easy to tell what was happening, but I think the Forest battle in 2, the battle between Optimus and Sentinel from 3, and Lockdown vs everyone in 4 were better.
Sadly this movie will come last or second to last in the box office compared to the other transformer movies... Based on the 2.85 million Thursday night previews. The Last Knight brought in 5.5 million... might of been to late to to turn the tide on this franchise...
I'm a product of the 80's and 90's so when those era's are touched upon I'm gonna be engaged. I find it hilarious that the best live action Transformers movie was a spinoff. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Charlie and B were great together it gave me an Iron Giant vibe. Cena did his thing and probably should make acting his full time gig.
Since Megatron didn't appear in the movie, it can be said he's the only one with that realistic alien design. The only way to change that is to use this movie as a reboot, and make Megatron the main villain again. Btw don't be expecting Unicron anytime soon because according to an interview, they writers think it's too big of a story to tell
I had my doubts in the beginning but then the movie won me over half way through. I still enjoyed Aquaman more than this though. Guess I'll see Into the Spider Verse next. This Christmas season has been pretty great for movies. I don't think I"ve ever watched 3-4 movies in a 2-month span in my life.
Ill admit i liked revenge of the fallen. Favourite movie. Like, TFM was great, i love rotf, dotm is also cool, but aoe and tlk are hot trash. Bumblebee is now my second favourite tf movie
I'm really late but I just watched this for the first time last night. It wasnt bad. I wasnt sold on charlie at first, but as the movie progressed, I liked her more and more. I thought John Cena was kind of corny but idk if it was him or the writing. This was really the transition of transformers going from action flick to family movie
I didn’t like Bays films besides the very first one and Dark of the Moon. Bays first TF movie was better than Bumblebee. The Cybertron opening was the absolute best part of the film. It was sick in the best way possible. The rest of the movie collapsed and I felt it was targeted for 4 to 13 year olds.
SPOILER WARNING Okay so is it Bumblebees first time going to earth in this movie? Cuz in the fifth movie it shows Bumblebee fighting the Nazis. Also it shows at the end Optimus and the other autobots on Earth when in the first movie it is assumed that when they land on earth it's their first time being there. So yeah... is the timeline wrong or am I over thinking it?
I preferred the first 3 bay films over this one. The movie was fine and had good call backs to G1, and probably a better made film, but it just doesn't have the entertainment factor. Not nearly as much action, not as much comedy, not even as much transformer interactions or screen time. And I agree Charlie is the best written MC, but Sam was a more entertaining MC imo.
I do agree - Transformers 1 was good Transformers 2 was ok Transformers 3 is ok Transformers 4 meh Transformers 5 I don’t know But I’ll check this movie out if I find good quality
There’s nothing wrong with the first 3 transformers in my opinion they’re perfect and iconic. I can understand disliking the 4th and 5th movie tho they were asspulls.
I feel like the movie is a tad overrated. Not saying Bumblebee is bad, but there are some Bay-isms in the movie. I mean Bumblebee being a mute is a Bayism. Some of the things that happen like the humans popping, and Cliffjumper. Those were very Bay-esque. I'm fine with them hammering in the 80's. The only thing that annoyed me was when they use the Stan Bush song. That song should have been saved for an Optimus Prime scene to properly call back the animated movie. There are plotholes, but The Last Knight retconned a lot of crap. So... who cares? It feels like Transformers is going Resident Evil (movies) with retcons and it's screwing up the back end of the world building. Like I wanted Unicron since the 3rd movie. The only TF movies I hate are Revenge of The Fallen and The Last Knight. But the 4th movie gave us Galvatron... without Unicron. That was annoying. And The Last Knight made a lot of weird choices with incorperating Earth history with Cybertronians. And then they made Cybertron/Primus try to eat Earth... which makes no sense. The whole point of the Primes is they work for Primus to fight the decepticons. And then they took away Galvatron and gave us Megatron back because toys. And then they bring in Unicron. Story-wise... The Last Knight has to be one of the most messed up movies I've ever seen.
It pays homage to the 80s. If this movie was actually filmed in the 80s, the things people are complaining about would be considered common and casual, not in your face.
6026961 no they all have their little ups and downs although their storylines all could use some help Tf2 had nice action scenes but it’s about all its redeemable quality’s save for some few it’s all opinions tbh can’t state it like a fact
And if it’s based on the 80s how can you have an overload on the 80s references dude you make no sense 🤦🏽♂️ it’s the dam timeline you want them to bring a phone out and play lil Wayne dam man you killing me
The only reason the Bumblebee film was profitable is because it was so cheaply made. It actually had the smallest box office take of any Transformers movie at the time. It brought in 137 million dollars less than The Last Knight. And when you watch the movie, it's not hard to see why. It's a copy-paste setup lifted straight from the first Transformers movie, expect there is no MacGuffin, and therefore nothing for the characters to do. It has too much of an emphasis on its human characters instead of the film's supposedly titular protagonist. With the exception of one fight scene, they are all worse than the ones in any of the Bayformer films. The CGI is obviously cheaper. The characters are bland, and the girl-bossing is evident, with most of the males in the movie made distinctly less intelligent than the real main character of the movie, which, may I remind you, is not Bumblebee. In fact, this film could be a Bayformer film in all the ways that really count, with the exception of the incompetent military. Say what you want about Michael Bay, he knows how to film military action scenes and direct actors so they look and behave like soldiers (for the most part). If Michael Bay had directed this film, critics and so-called Transformers fans alike would have taken a dump all over it. As it is, Bumblebee was saved from being a flop only because of its low budget (it barely eeked out a profit as it was), and its direct sequel fared even more poorly.
They say its a prequel but it really feels more like a reboot. Plenty of stuff happens in this movie that completely contradicts and does not match up with the other films.
It's meant to be a soft reboot
I hope its a reboot cuz I want to just weave into a new whole series. Sal Scalici dude I’ve been telling friends about how tf needs a reboot and they say that all the movies were good
@@GOGIANTS1091 same
Sal Scalici even tho the people think the other transformers are bad they all have a place in my heart
1:35 So Knight and Bay is like night and day?
SpeterMan3 god dammit that works too well
Noteworthy thing is Charlie is seen as a relatable lovable character . Not hypersexualized like previous ones.
The designs of the transformers were very good in this movie when compared to those in the michael bay one's.
Most notable example is optimus prime.
I preferred Optimus' design in the other ones. This one was good too, and definitely more like G1, but he just looks more bad ass in the others.
Adnan Asif I prefer the micheal bay style

Dylan O'Brien voiced Bumblebee in beginning. Pretty Cool

He's still my favorite Transformer.
Eh not enough Shia lebouf
Also too much story needs more filler and flasy scenes
Diablo !!
Be gone !!
Justin medina yeah and the cybertron scenes were to accurate to g1 needs to look more like chrome aliens
The first Transformers movie and the Bumblebee movie are the only really good Transformers movies.
Travis Knight wanted to make something different from Michael Bay and remember Michael Bay only cares about the visuals and Travis Knight cares about the story and he wanted to dedicate this movie to the old transformers G1 fans and I like this movie 100x better then the Bay Films

No fight will ever best Optimus vs Megatron, Starscream, and Demolisher in Transformers II.
*ahem* stares at TF Prime Optimus vs Megatron *ahem*
From the writing standpoint I hope they use and expand on it moving forward regardless if the next movie is the unicorn movie or the reboot film.
The 1st to 3rd are bad as hell but the 4th & 5th are the best movies of transformers.
Keep up the good work geekdom
I loved this movie. It was sweet and funny and I hope people see it!

Yes, WAYYYYY Better

Glad you enjoyed Aquaman, I'm so gitty with excitement over the future of the DCEU.

Actually it’s a reboot not a prequel
I mean they want it to be in the 80s that's how it would be especially in San Francisco idk y ppl are bothered sayin its 2 much 80s?
It pays homage to the 80s. If this movie was actually filmed in the 80s, the things people are complaining about would be considered common and casual, not in your face.

Huh... I thought that I was the only one who liked both the first and third Transformers movies.

Same here. And Revenge of the Fallen wasn’t _terrible._ I mean, it wasn’t _good_ in any way I’d say, but not _terrible_
Is this the twilight zone?
My favorite tf are the first transformers and dark side of the moon.
I honestly went to see this ine frist today Friday tomorrow going to see Aquaman, and I loved it
