MEN!! YOU ALL SOUND JEALOUS. Surprise was the way they handled such large beautiful log, the beauty, the nails, the grubs. Some people don't know these things exists, i sirs, am impressed and surprised. Thanks for your video.
I was very sceptical of these guys when I first saw them, safety at a minimum but after watching and being mesmerized buy the chainsaw sounds I notice they obviously know what they’re doing, until now no fingers or toes flying through the air, I will keep watching and maybe I will get lucky 😂😂😂😂 just kidding…. The grain of the woods that these guys find are so beautiful, I do envy them to have so much wood…. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Thank you for watching us. Of course, not everything is good with safety precautions. But working with a saw is not as dangerous as it seems😂 The grinder is much more dangerous in my opinion))) greetings from Belarus
I have to disagree. By their very nature accidents are unpredictable. It can be anything, for example neighbor kids are playing soccer, and the ball will hit this guy on the back at a critical moment and have that chain rip through his thighs, since he is not wearing any chaps. Or it could be that the chain snaps and breaks during operation -- in some videos he accidentally cuts through pieces of metal hidden inside the trees. At that moment it won't matter to him that he went 5 years without injuries, all that matter will be a gashing wound in his leg. OSHA rules were written with people's blood, and it's foolish to ignore them.
Good Morning Belko Wood team, it is a snowy Wisconsin morning here. It is awesome to see the sunny warm day this tree was slabbed up! What a gigantic new ladder guide Vladimir used to cut those slabs. As usual it was great to see the old farmer out plowing his field and the clothes drying on the line. It shows a much simpler life then many have built for themselves. Sometimes life is very hectic! It also was great to see everyone involved with the clean up and dusting process. It seems that everyone there knows how to work and play outside! Those slabs had to be 1000 pounds yet the Belko Wood team moved them with strength and determination. Vladimir, when you took that skim cut with the grain of the wood you made all those stringy wood slices, that shows what a super sharp chain you sharpen! Finally, Yuri lets hope the stick that hit you in the head finds the fire place this winter😣🤣 Again have a great Holiday season to my friends across the world!💪💪
The surprise is how beautiful the burls and wood grain is. They turned that abandoned log into a huge money maker. Cutting it into extremely beautiful wood grain planks was how they most likely turned that old log into maybe $100,000 plus into table tops and bar tops. The surprises throughout the video was when they brushed off the saw dust. Isn't that a good surprise for us to see. If someone doesn't see that then Google cost of even 6-8ft lengths let alone those length planks.
While I agree that the title is misleading I believe it is still a very interesting vid on how to properly dissect a very old log. Also “what they found inside” was about three thousand dollars in usable lumber to make into “high end” tables.
That was fantastic and mesmorizing to watch.I really loved it !!!!! Now,I wonder what each slap is worth.I would bet around 4 to 6 grand (Canadian Dollar).....and those guys are doing AMAZING work...phenomenal....unbelievable !!!!!
Hahaha. No way is 2 guys lifting one of those monster sized slabs. Very satisfying to watch in a strange sort of way. Thanks for the video.🙏 God bless you all
Since we never see what happens after the planks are cut - one can only assume they are making wood chips, saw dust, and toothpicks of the planks. Maybe make charcoal and briquets, or send off the wood to Holland and Japan and make wooden shoes there.
I would say those slabs are made in to some beautiful tables, gun cabinets, where that beautiful wood grain can be shown. All the things you mentioned are mostly made from pine.
Excellent vid on how to correctly salvage some beautiful lumber to make into dining tables. I would estimate this days work netted a minimum of $3,000.00 in usable wood slabs. As for “what they found inside”. Well what they “found” was a lot of beautiful wood😏💰💰💰💰
Yeah, my 36" mill looks like a tinkertoy. I'm running an old Olympic for a powerhead. I might have to build a longer skid after seeing this. I have a nice sized hickory log that is close to 25' long.

This is poplar. We don't really appreciate him. Although it is a very beautiful wood, it is not hard
@BelkoWood same here in Maine, USA. Poplar is under used. It's harder then pine. We use it alot for window and door trim on interior. 👊🏼👍🏼🤙🏼
Not as sappy and very few knots vs pine. Nice green tint.

How do you go about drying large slabs like this?
You need to buy a cheap battery powered leaf blower. The car brush with the saw dust isn't the tool for that
With the amount of nails that you run into, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to buy a metal detector for hunting buried nails.
And the surprise is......?
