Loved the interview, inspiring stuff. I love the understated beauty of Laura's patchwork cabinets and the subtle blended lines of the wing chair. Thanks for posting this.
Wonderful interview! Loved the interviewee and the interviewer - exceptional FWW!! Laura is a tremendous woodworker and has been an inspiration to me for years. I also particularly enjoyed her take on James as an author - and then finding out that he was a curmudgeon - and just trying to ignore that side of him, and continue to love his writing! Thanks!!!
This is so brilliant! Where else can you get an in-depth interview with Laura Mays, with Jon Binzen asking the questions? This is sooo damn good! Thank you, FWW.
Enjoyed the interview and learning about Laura. A true gift to the woodworking community!

Beautiful chairs. Lots of thought behind everything. Inspiring.

The Krenov School got a good one.
I nearly went to letterfrack when I was a teenager. Over the years I regretted not going occasionally, but now I really regret it!
I worked for Mockbee for 5 years.
I'd never heard of her until now. Checked out some images of her work - regrettably uninspiring.
Your comment is regrettably uninspiring
Agreed, her work is very postmodern and not in a good way.
