I tend to follow videos better so thank you for this :) I followed your tip of using 3/4 cup of oil, and since you said your cake was a bit dry, I did 1 cup + 5tbsp of yogurt and it was perfect! I don’t have loose tea, so I used 10 bags of earl grey tea. I added a little lemon zest as well since lemon and earl grey pair really well, and only put 1 cup of sugar. The batter didn’t have excess oil at the top, you could really smell and taste the earl grey, and the cake turned out moist, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness. This is a keeper :)
Ok, I revamped this a bit- 1st I cut the recipe in half to test it. Instead of oil, I melted butter (unsalted) Monk Fruit sugar to sweeten. I used a silicone donut pan to bake in. They turned out a total success! Not dry, even the next day
Hello! Thx for sharing recipe. I found the recipe to be lacking in a few areas. 1) too much batter for a 9 x 5 loaf pan. 2) too much oil 3) Baking time too long resulting in a dry cake. So I modified by reducing oil n yoghurt by half.. sugar n flour by 1/4c and add heavy cream to make up for the gap. The result is a moist and flavourful cake.
I made this cake today but with 2 teabags. It doesn’t taste like earlgrey at all... but the cake itself is really really nice and moist after the alteration of less oil and more yoghurt
you can use 1/4 cup of the tea leaves in teabags! I've done this recipe a couple times this way, but you do end up ripping open a good number of teabags lol
@@ss-jf3sb i stopped opening them after 12. Its actually baking rn...havent tried it yet...and i used stevia instead of sugar so.i really hopenot turns out ok
How did it taste? Could you identify the earl grey flavor? Did any of the other ingredients flavor the loaf more? If I use a tea bag, do I break it open or steep it in X? What's X?

Oooo earl grey cake sounds good! Not sure I’ve had a yogurt cake before 😱 love when there’s a crunch on top too!
Thanks Alyssa, it's not bad you should definitely give it a try!

Wondering about the „amount of oil“, while in other baking videos, pepz put in 3 blocks of butter without even mentioning it... i feel u
Can you convert the ingredients to grams?

Yes the earl grey flavor was pretty strong! Break open the tea bag if you're going to use one. You won't need to grind up the leaves or anything!
@@eatsbyrachel Thanks, trying this weekend
@Dianne Lo Thank you so much. Now I have a weekend bake to plan. Happy weekend to you.
Your earl grey tea yogurt cake looks so delicious, but it is very similar to banana bread recipe.🤔

too sweet
Wow yummy soo delicious 👍👍

Hi :) could i use low fat greek yogurt instead of whole milk yogurt?
using low fat would possibly result in a less moist cake.
