AND I found that tapping a Mac prep and prime using your finger OVER your shimmer shadow makes it look smooth and no crepe look happening! Spray on the back of your hand and using ring finger tap lightly over shadow…try it out!

1) I gotta say it’s nice nice seeing an influencer being tattooed and embracing their pale/light skin tones. I see so many self tanning 10 shades darker then they go to put makeup on the self tan is blotchy on their hands. 2) over lining the lips. Some either don’t look right, or have big lips and still over line. Then put on a ton of gloss to make them bigger.
I totally agree with your unpopular opinion. I love eyeliner but when it’s added to every colorful smoky eye you take mask the gradient effect which is so beautiful on its own and accomplishes the same goal of elongating your gaze. 💯% agree.

I totally agree with the celebrity makeup lines!! A lot of them rarely even do THEIR OWN makeup to begin with lol when Kylie, Kim, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Milly Bobbie Brown, Victoria Beckham, and JLo launched theirs I literally eye rolled each one of them because they all came out of left field!! I would add Rhianna to that list…but she’s -DOIN THE DAMN THANG- with her products so she gets a pass from me lol 😂
the little shimmers in some mattes (a sudden doubt about the spelling of it...) are made to have them blend more easily ! They are not supposed to show which is why the shadows appear as non shimmery in the end :) it's a licensed makeup artist that taught it, she is French and does videos in French, but she regularly talks about it when she encounters one in a palette

I'm with you on the winged liner. I love the look and used to rock it often, but in the past year I really haven't and it makes for a much more youthful look. When I do bring it back occasionally it's fun again. It has a place for certain looks, but not all eye looks need it.

For the Ulta vs. Sephora question, I think it really depends on your taste in brands… if you like being able to shop both drugstore and high end, Ulta is heaven, but if your tastes lean more toward luxury brands, you definitely need Sephora! Personally, I shop Ulta more often because of its reward program, but I gravitate more toward some of the brands exclusive to Sephora.
Omg, yesss, the winged liner with every look needs to stop!! They often ruin the beautiful look or their looks end up all looking too similar because of it. I also used to shave my brows with a shaving razor in high school. 🤣 Hey, it works!
Unpopular opinion: Fenty Beauty didn't really break the industry's shade range issue. Brands like MAC and Make Up For Ever and Illamasqua have been doing this since the beginning. Not to say that more brands that have great shade ranges is a bad thing - it's wonderful. I just feel like Fenty Beauty gets credit for shaking things up in the shade range department when I'm not convinced they did. 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼
For me it’s not that Fenty broke new ground with shades it’s that they aggressively marketed to people who look like me. Yes it’s cool to go to the counter and see your shade but when you see yourself in the promos and the brand actually makes it seem like you’re a priority, that is the difference.
Im very pale with a pink undertone. Fenty was the first brand I found to match me. I was refreshing to see it. So many pale foundations have a yellow or peach undertone, nothing cool until the light-medium. Thank u fenty!!!!

Regarding the comment on olive tones not all being tan, I totally agree. I am 58 and have literally JUST discovered that I am a pale olive! No wonder foundations never looked right on me! I just picked up Armani Power Fabric in 3.5 which specifically states light/medium olive and it is perfect for me.
You can totally tell when a luxury makeup brand is just a money grab (Louboutin, Hermès) versus when its creator is interested in innovation and passionate about makeup (the professional makeup artist brands-PMG, ND, etc).
With you on the winged liner sister. I think winged liner and liner in water lines just makes eyes look so much smaller. We were always taught to put liner just under the waterline.

I'm with you, Mel. The Pillowtalk lipliner is definitely straight up orange on me. I was a teenager in the late 70s, and totally plucked my brows into oblivion. Thankfully, they grew back, but many of my friends brows did not! With you again. I don't need to eat out. Unpopular opinion: I do think high end brands are usually better quality than inexpensive brands. But they are outpricing themselves to the point that we tell ourselves the low end is just as good.
Re: the "neutral" moniker. To be fair, there is a difference between color neutrality (red, which is warm vs blue, which is cool vs gray, which is neutral) and tonal neutrality (red with yellow undertones vs red with blue undertones). A palette of a "warm" color (like red) can be "neutral" in tone if the reds do not pull towards yellow or blue undertones. That being said, the term "neutral" is often misused.

A neutral palette can still be warm or cool, as long as it contains neutral COLORS. The Natasha Denona Glam Palette is a perfect example of a color story made up of cool neutrals (meaning browns, tans, grays, taupes…rather than pops of color that don’t necessarily go with everything else).
The reason tutorials don't get views is because the algorithm buries them in favor of reviews and hauls that basically "sell" products which pushes advertisers to pump more money into the YT system. So, literally, it's all about money and has nothing to do with what viewers actually want to watch at this point.
I was literally thinking the same thing about celebrities vs influencers coming out with makeup just as you were saying it.....weird (maybe I'll go buy a lottery ticket today🤣).
Riri does her own makeup a lot of the time. I watched a video about it. If the celebrities do their own makeup and and passionate about it, why not. Just don’t do it for a side gig and put out low quality for a high price to promote a name.

Interesting about Pillow Talk. It must be something with our undertones. I haven’t tried the shadows but the liner and lipstick is the perfect natural pink for me. However there are some lipsticks that look terrible on me that look amazing on my daughter. Again I think undertones. I’m more neutral pink and my daughter is olive warm.

My favorite video of all times. Very fun. My unpopular opinion is that bronzer and highlighter are unnecessary. I prefer just a touch of blush and a swipe of blush across the nose.
LOVE the neutral comment. Drives me crazy when people call anything that's not colorful 'neutral' It's like people have no idea what warm/neutral/cool actually mean. And satin shadows are pretty much my favorite finish. If I could only have one finish, that would be it.

I think they are warm based shades and they look orange on cool toned folks. I definitely fall in that category and it’s not just pinks, warm leaning light browns can pull orange on me too - but as pretty as pillow talk is I have learned my lesson and don’t buy any eye shadows with that name now.

For the Ulta vs. Sephora question, I think it really depends on your taste in brands… if you like being able to shop both drugstore and high end, Ulta is heaven, but if your tastes lean more toward luxury brands, you definitely need Sephora! Personally, I shop Ulta more often because of its reward program, but I gravitate more toward some of the brands exclusive to Sephora.

Omg, yesss, the winged liner with every look needs to stop!! They often ruin the beautiful look or their looks end up all looking too similar because of it. I also used to shave my brows with a shaving razor in high school. 🤣 Hey, it works!
Unpopular opinion:
Fenty Beauty didn't really break the industry's shade range issue.
Brands like MAC and Make Up For Ever and Illamasqua have been doing this since the beginning.
Not to say that more brands that have great shade ranges is a bad thing - it's wonderful. I just feel like Fenty Beauty gets credit for shaking things up in the shade range department when I'm not convinced they did.

For me it’s not that Fenty broke new ground with shades it’s that they aggressively marketed to people who look like me. Yes it’s cool to go to the counter and see your shade but when you see yourself in the promos and the brand actually makes it seem like you’re a priority, that is the difference.

Im very pale with a pink undertone. Fenty was the first brand I found to match me. I was refreshing to see it. So many pale foundations have a yellow or peach undertone, nothing cool until the light-medium. Thank u fenty!!!!

Regarding the comment on olive tones not all being tan, I totally agree. I am 58 and have literally JUST discovered that I am a pale olive! No wonder foundations never looked right on me! I just picked up Armani Power Fabric in 3.5 which specifically states light/medium olive and it is perfect for me.
You can totally tell when a luxury makeup brand is just a money grab (Louboutin, Hermès) versus when its creator is interested in innovation and passionate about makeup (the professional makeup artist brands-PMG, ND, etc).
With you on the winged liner sister. I think winged liner and liner in water lines just makes eyes look so much smaller. We were always taught to put liner just under the waterline.

OMG, I so totally agree with the opinion on CT “pinks” being orange!! I am very cool toned-skin, hair, eyes, eyebrows and typically pinks look fantastic on me. Not CT pinks-hello pumpkin look.

Unpopular opinion: I do think high end brands are usually better quality than inexpensive brands. But they are outpricing themselves to the point that we tell ourselves the low end is just as good.
Re: the "neutral" moniker. To be fair, there is a difference between color neutrality (red, which is warm vs blue, which is cool vs gray, which is neutral) and tonal neutrality (red with yellow undertones vs red with blue undertones). A palette of a "warm" color (like red) can be "neutral" in tone if the reds do not pull towards yellow or blue undertones. That being said, the term "neutral" is often misused.

I agree about the winged liner. I even say it's okay not even to do one. The maeup ook will still look pretty. I don't like wolf brows on me. Some can pull it off. They looks good on them.

A neutral palette can still be warm or cool, as long as it contains neutral COLORS. The Natasha Denona Glam Palette is a perfect example of a color story made up of cool neutrals (meaning browns, tans, grays, taupes…rather than pops of color that don’t necessarily go with everything else).

The reason tutorials don't get views is because the algorithm buries them in favor of reviews and hauls that basically "sell" products which pushes advertisers to pump more money into the YT system. So, literally, it's all about money and has nothing to do with what viewers actually want to watch at this point.
I was literally thinking the same thing about celebrities vs influencers coming out with makeup just as you were saying it.....weird (maybe I'll go buy a lottery ticket today🤣).
While I agree, some celebs like Victoria Beckham are very passionate about makeup and have beautiful products.

Interesting about Pillow Talk. It must be something with our undertones. I haven’t tried the shadows but the liner and lipstick is the perfect natural pink for me. However there are some lipsticks that look terrible on me that look amazing on my daughter. Again I think undertones. I’m more neutral pink and my daughter is olive warm.

I'm stuck between Ulta and Sephora. I worked at Ulta for 2 and a half years. And it's super convenient to have high end and drugstore all in one store. However, there's so many brands Sephora carries that Ulta doesn't.

My favorite video of all times. Very fun. My unpopular opinion is that bronzer and highlighter are unnecessary. I prefer just a touch of blush and a swipe of blush across the nose.
LOVE the neutral comment. Drives me crazy when people call anything that's not colorful 'neutral' It's like people have no idea what warm/neutral/cool actually mean.
And satin shadows are pretty much my favorite finish. If I could only have one finish, that would be it.

I think they are warm based shades and they look orange on cool toned folks. I definitely fall in that category and it’s not just pinks, warm leaning light browns can pull orange on me too - but as pretty as pillow talk is I have learned my lesson and don’t buy any eye shadows with that name now.
