This actually is one of the best looking turkeys I've ever seen done on the weber kettle. I think your rotating it was the secret and I've never thought up flipping it breast side down for the start which makes tons of sense because you know it's around 400 degrees near the top of the grill and only 330 near the bottom so you'd be overcookign the top of the breast before the inside was done if you left it breast up the whole time. And most poultry done on a kettle ends up looking like some kind of black burnt offering by the end but this was a beautiful golden color, I'm sure partially because you used no smoke wood. Have to try all this.
@@Tamara-id1pe Thanks for asking. It turned out great. The trial turkey was a tiny bit undercooked, but the taste was there. The Thanksgiving turkey was great. Took a little over 3 hours. I bought a dual prong thermometer to help with temps. Overall, very pleased.
You should remove the turkey at 157 or 160 max because it keep cooking when resting and let it rest for an hour at least before you cut, will be more juicy.
Thank you for showing me how to do this, I have looked at other videos but yours was the most informative for me at this time. Thank you for posting. I am now a subscriber! I love your dog Annie.
Nice cook Jim! Don't blame you for not using the pop in thermo. Those things are often set to pop at ridiculously high temps to appease the food safety attorneys.
Looks great Jim. That 20 pounder you cooked last week was awesome. One of the better tasting turkeys I have had in a long time. That seasoning is also fantastic!
Great video. I have cooked one on a gas grill before and it was awesome but im visiting relatives and they have a weber so i will follow your directions. Cant wait good job on the video and thank you for taking the time to do it. The only thing i wasnt clear on is the vents on the bottom. Would they be open all the way or closed?
That was a great turkey cook! Thank you for posting this one! Looks like Io will be barbecuing our turkey this year! Glad to Annie approved to great results! Best wishes for a great Thanksgiving meal this year!🍗🧧🌺🙏
Not feeling well so I'm cheating this year. Just ordered a smoked turkey from a fabulous local meat market. This looked great - nice and juicy. Be well.
What do you like to use for your brine? I'm getting ready to try this on Wednesday, but do not have a brine recipe. Great video, I hope mine turns out as good as yours did.
I wouldn't do that, just leave it in your fridge until its unthawed. The outside will get warm while the inside is frozen and food safety fanatics will come out of the woodworks. It's not a joke though to play around with your 80 year old grandmother's health.
This was a great how to for rookie turkey cookers. This gives me the confidence to cook my turkey on my webber kettle. Thank you.
Nice! Have fun!
Great video! Looks amazing
i was just talking about getting a turkey from Aldi the other day and giving it a go on the kettle - you've done a great job
Thank you!
@@TosTinManEasyCooking I'd love to try that for Thanksgiving. But I live in Ohio.
Love it! And love that dog my man. Always love your videos.
Thank you!

Thank you! I've tried cooking turkeys without rotating them like that and the breast was dry.
Doing this today . Thank you
I have no thermometer but I think I'm good.
Looks delicious!
Omg that looks soooo delicious and crispy
Thank you!
I enjoyed this video
LOOKS GR8!!! I HAVE A TURKEY IN FREEZER FROM LAST THANKSGIVING. IM LOOKING FOR BBQ IDEAS TO THOROUGHLY COOK!! THIS LOOKS LIKE IT!!!! THANKS YOU
Good lord, that piece you gave Annie looked huge! But she ate it with no problem 😄😂 Great video again! 👍
Thanks! Yeah, she's a chowhound!
Thanks for this. I'm going to do a trial run this week and see how it goes. Hopefully we can do it for Thanksgiving too.
How’d it turn out?
@@Tamara-id1pe Thanks for asking. It turned out great. The trial turkey was a tiny bit undercooked, but the taste was there. The Thanksgiving turkey was great. Took a little over 3 hours. I bought a dual prong thermometer to help with temps. Overall, very pleased.
I am definitely going to try it

Nice cook Jim! Don't blame you for not using the pop in thermo. Those things are often set to pop at ridiculously high temps to appease the food safety attorneys.
Thanks! Yeah, sometimes those pop-up but not always. The turkey was nice and juicy!
Simple, eat to follow. Thank you!
Wow great job!
Hi Jim, your Turkey turned out great golden brown crispy skin so tender and delicious.
Thanks Rick! I was pretty happy with it!
That looks great thanks for the tips
Nice looking bird!! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
Looks so yummy
Well done man that does look juicy.
Thank you! It turned out great!
Great cook that looked great I will try this and remember to rotate like you did I believe that is the secret. Have a great day!
Thanks! Yeah, I think rotating it like that helps it cook more evenly.
How long did your 20lb turkey take?
Great job, the turkey looks really tasty. GO 49ers !!!
Thank you, brotha

Thank you! I hope you feel better!
Beautiful bird Jim!
Thanks Larry!
Would closing the vents a little helped have lower the temperature in the kettle?
Yes, it would.
Thanks
I didn't hear if you said what internal temp you cooked to.
Looks like great results. What size was the kettle?
Thanks! It's a 22 inch kettle.
What do you like to use for your brine? I'm getting ready to try this on Wednesday, but do not have a brine recipe. Great video, I hope mine turns out as good as yours did.
I usually use 1 cup of kosher salt, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 1 gallon of water and just mix it together cold.
@@TosTinManEasyCooking Thanks, do you brine over night, or for a whole day?
Looks beautiful
Thank you!
Do you keep the bottom and top vents open? Closed?
Open
The turkey I have is 23.59lbs. Might be too big to fit on my Weber. Maybe I'll just cut it in half before putting on the grill
So would let it sit on the countertop overnight if you wanted it to thaw overnight?
That's what I did and then put it in the fridge the next day.
@@TosTinManEasyCooking great! thx.

@@Begohan1234 or deep fry it! I'd love to see TinMan try that.
To thaw poultry quickly and safely place sealed in cold water fully submerged
I like your dog taste tester!
She likes her job!
I don't have a chimney thingy...SMFH...LOL
I think you're supposed to add like 9 coals every half hour or Something like
practice for turkey day or you'll do ham or something?
I don't know. I'm getting kind of turkeyed out! :)
LOOKING SO GOOD SO TASTY
Thank you!
Hard to turn the turkey over with the probe in it but no problem rotating. 🤔
thanks for the video - go niners!
what was the red circle thing on the breast?
It's a pop up thermometer.
ok thanks mate
4:50 it looks like a regular thermometer in the bird? Not a pop up.
@@rarrodrig4703 At 3:25 he pots a regular thermometer in the bird
I just can’t get with not washing it, I thing it needs some fat to help the seasoning to stay in...
I've never heard you use that rub, it's always been Johnny's
I do use Johnny's a lot but this one gets into the mix every now and then.
20 bucks you got ripped bro
I think sir you should cook pork n mash potatoes
i’m
scared of my turkey
The original red grills cook better
Looks so yummy
Thanks!
