- In this video I discuss how I organise my collage materials in the studio.
I also share how I keep it intuitive and playful with making studies. I combine collage with line and other mark making. I create 2 pieces during the video.

Always great to see a working process - thank you
You are welcome Sharon. I think these studies from original works on location are becoming quite a useful part of the process.
Fascinating, it’s great seeing you work on them and hearing your thought process 😊
Thanks so much Gilli!- I so enjoy the studies! Next week I’ll be sharing the panels !
Oh dear I should have seen this one befirecai created a collage today. As you say no good being 0recious I'll do another one qhr learn from this.
It’s an ongoing learning Leila - We are all the same - it’s one thing saying it but I often forget my own advice!!
My apology Liz I've only found it by simply moving the screen up. Problem with learning new stuff. Great ideas for storing papers for collaging. I have learnt a lot of ideas from your videos on markmaking too. Will your new course include the theory the rules of creating good collages?
Ha no problem Leila I’m glad you found it. I’m so glad it was useful. I think it’s only by thinking about this new work and previous experiences that I realised I needed a more organic process. You have to keep adding to and sorting the box! My new course will me Mark making focused including collage and I will talk about approaches ( although I wouldn’t call them rules as such). The idea is that you have your own project ( I will be showing myself do the same) and explore it through a series of different approaches including collage. I hope that helps.
Liz thinking about your mark making course, I love in Wanstead east London near amazing parkland and woods surrounded by pylons ect. I love your artwork of the rolling hills. Will your new course address universal markings to use fir both? Many thanks.
Hi Leila my course focuses on using our subject matter to explore Mark making and what is most appropriate from your point of view. I will be using a real landscape exploration ( not rolling hills) to show the approaches I take and which I think will enable you to explore your subject. I will be sharing the outline of the course very soon. It will be a case of using the approaches to explore your own Mark making for the landscapes/subject you are interested in. In answer to your question I will be encouraging you to use different approaches to develop your own Mark making vocabulary that resonates with you for your interests. I hope that makes sense.
