This French tissue paper "hack" is revolutionary! It costs 3 or 4 times more on US Amazon, but being able to make exactly what one wants and needs for any particular piece is game-changing. Thank you a million times, dear Louise! Love your work and your fabulous tips!
I’m addicted to your videos! Thank you for sharing so freely. Have you ever tried using a stencil brush? It would make paler patterns, I imagine from using them on walls. This may not work for you, but I keep collage papers of various kinds in 3-ring binders with clear plastic pocket pages. Easy to flip through. I use one pocket for all of a certain category, not a pocket per sheet. Keeps them together and I just remove the bundle and flip through when I’m looking for something.
I have watched many, many art videos this year and you are by FAR the best. Your work resonates with me, but I also appreciate how well you inform us. I hope you do many more.
Recently, one of my artist friends sent me your link, and I am in love with your videos! You are so generous in sharing your ideas and I am so inspired by them! Thank you so much!
My dear Louise I too am Enormously grateful to you for your kindness in sharing your knowledge and time so generously with us all you have opened a new door of a better understanding to Art. Much love to you always.❤
I used the left over paint, mopped it up with a piece of open weave lace curtain, and "splotched" it onto my paper. By changing how I had folded or scrunched up the lace piece, it changed what happened onto my paper. Kind of like "block" printing, but with fabric with a pattern in it. Rather than laying the lace down flat all covered in paint, which is also an option. (I don't have anywhere near as many interesting stencils that you have, so I had to come up with something). I love how you've used the tissue paper too, brilliant idea. Adds so much more texturally. Thank you for sharing your techniques, so very helpful.
I have just watch this for the second time, after I went in search of tissue paper and a selection of stencils. Thank you for all your great tips and ideas. I live in Brisbane, Australia and found the tissue paper at Officeworks.
Love these tips. Many thanks. I also make a lot of painted papers of all kinds and always looking for a new way to organize. I’ll look and see if you’ve had time to publish a video on organizing collage papers, but if not, that would be so valuable.thanks again for all.
What a great lesson on collagen papers! I love the new words you have given me. Smushed, nothing is precious, and messing about. You and I are kindred spirits. Thank you so much.
This is how my hands and work space turn out when im making painty papers i love it! Im waiting for a delivery of tissue paper and i so cant wait to get messy again lol x
First of your videos I just found today! I'm so inspired, can't wait to watch more but also can't wait to make some papers! Love your art and freedom of creativity. Thank you for your generosity.
Loved all your collage papers, must get onto ebay to buy more stencils. The tissue may be difficult to come by though, apparently the tissue you get in shoe boxes works well, so I will have to buy more shoes! Thanks Louise love all you do.
I never tried collage papers with tissue!!! Love the usefulness of the transparency. Thank u for sharing!!! Will watch you in June! I’m excited to find you
Hi Louise, thanks for another fun to watch video! I love your paint filled hands! I want to mention that in the US there is strong tissue paper sold in art stores for bookbinding called archival tissue. The brand I buy is Lineco. It takes a wonderful print and can be painted on.
I just found you and Alice through your podcast. Thank you! I'm so sleepy when I enter my studio because I'm BORED! I just ordered some deli paper and stencil and craypas. I used to love to do resists. I sat for 3 hours this afternoon making some little things on some old manila paper I found. It was relaxing, surprising, and fun. Thank you for reminding me TO PLAY!
Your artwork is pure energy! Full of movement, freshness and freedom. I have subscribed to your channel and hope to learn more from your inspiring talent.
Such useful info Louise - thankyou. Can relate to experimenting with printmaking too....& thanks for telling me where to look for tissue & stencils! One happy bunny!!
Thank you Louise for your ideas, your ability to communicate your message, your great generosity. I really appreciate it! You make me want to have fun making my own papers. It looks so easy and fun to do! Have a great day Louise!
Love the series that you're working on. Great tips about collage paper....I've been printing with the thin sheets of foam that come in packages for crafts - from the dollar store...I draw shapes into them by pressing into the foam with a blunt pencil, cover them with paint then print onto thin paper...Your use of stencils and tissue paper is way more efficient..
Thanks for your videos! They are great. I store my collage papers in 12 X 12 X 3 inch tall scrapbook page size plastic boxes. I get them here in U.S. at Michaels and divide and label by color. I have 12 of these boxes stacked in my studio. When working on a painting I can just pull out boxes with the colors I'm working with or black and white.
You are so inspiring Louise. I have ordered some stencils and wet tissue and today have been tearing up the newspaper giving me ideas on different subjects, can’t wait to get started. Thank you
I tried printing out text and other photoshop images such as brush marks and textures onto TRACING PAPER. I have 9" by 12" pad of tracing paper and the images are crisp and nice and the tracing paper actually went through my printer. I can't wait to try the images in my art. Thanks for the tutorial on how you use stencils because I am purchasing those as well.
Who was the saddo giving a thumbs down 🤷♀️🙄🤣. Louise you are so generous. I am in your monthly subscription group and there is sooo much. Such great value!
Great tips Louise! So generous of you to share your techniques and processes- very inspiring and love the casual way you deliver your workshops. It's not serious but thoughtful, sloppy, FUN and so creative! Thank you! xx
Louise Thank you very much for this. I live in the Netlands and disvored you a few months ago. I also use homemade coloured tissue paper. But I did not know this technique. I also make my own stamps. I make them from different materials like cardboard, little plastic or wooden subjects, wool and cotton dreads and print them on the tissue paper. I love your videos.
This was wonderful - so many tips/ideas. I’m in the U.S. & have recently purchased a 12x12 box of deli paper. Can’t wait to start. Thank you for your generosity.
This was so inspiring. When I’m having a creative block, I can make collage paper while I’m waiting for inspiration. BTW, I think your hands are absolutely gorgeous with all that delicious paint all over them. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Keep them coming.
Thank you for sharing.... great ideas for personalised collage pieces and I love your combination of colours in these pieces you've shown us.. the small bits of orange really pop against the beautiful turquoise.
I've really missed watching your videos, and this one is so inspiring I might just give this a go. I've looked on Amazon and found the tissue paper and it's not too expensive.
Thank you so much Louise I really really enjoyed watching you create those amazing and gorgeous paper’s. So much so. That I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too. Please stay safe and well too
