Enjoying the videos. Keep them coming. Just FYI, unless it's changed recently you needn't descend to 500FT southbound on V1 until you reach south head. Pretty sure you can stay at 1000 FT AMSL from Long Reef to Nth Head and avoid hang gliders and such. You descend between Nth and Sth Head to 500FT AMSL. Not trying to sound like a know it all. Just thought you would like to know. :)
That's OK. Always trying to learn 🙂I must say I missed the 1000 limit, but at least I was not higher, right? It was only a couple more minutes at lower altitude anyway. We flew on Thursday, so there was nobody else flying. The way back was another story. We were flying on Saturday and V1 was quite busy.
do you have a written flight plan? do your best to stay on centreline on landing. Mechanical turbulence from the onshore and trees at Merimbula - good decision to go around.
@ I, know that now. Traci told me about the “washing machine”, only after we went through it. I will approach it differently, when I fly there next time.

Nice flying 👍
Thank you. About to finish another leg from this trip, Launceston to Moruya with focus on ATC calls from Launie.
Victor 1 is rad. No lifejackets?
We were wearing the belts with lifejackets in them. Approved by casa.
@@flyingconsultant yes you can clearly see them at the beginning of the video. cheers

I use ozrunways and I always print everything as well, just in case. I cary a portable printer with me for this and other needs.
Looked like an 8 to 10kt crosswind from the left on landing at Merimbula...
How could you possibly tell? The windsock is well below the tree line. After we landed, the windsock was pretty much rotating in circle.
33:29 - looks like a crosswind to me...

@@paulwhitworth8904for those 4 seconds, definitely.
@@flyingconsultant Windsock near touchdown is sideways. Turbulence is from the trees with an easterly. Very common. It is my home airport. ;-)

Paráda 😃
