      Finn Jake I know.
It's really amazing. It makes me so sad.
He had a great voice, and especially in that time...
Paul had his voice peak in the late 60's and throughout the 70's, and I think it was much better than John's, but yes.
      John was a great singer.

Amit Kalderon do u know who sings hey jude? John or Paul?

    • @-amitkalderon1225
      @-amitkalderon1225 8 лет назад +24

      Finn Jake Paul.
He wrote it and sang it.
btw, it's written for and about John's son from his first marrige, Julian.
He was having a hard time as he was 6 when John and Cynthia devorced, and Paul wrote this for him, he thought of the melody while driving (!!!) to their house and he sang it to Julian :)
      He is the best.

    To summarize this hilarious clip...
1:40 - John, coming down quickly from the intensity of the high part, almost says "that boy" instead of "this boy" and corrects it halfway to "thas boy"
1:50 - Paul messes up his harmony ("would always feel" = "bla bla bleel") because he's trying not to laugh
2:06 - John says "thas boy" again on purpose, to see if he can get Paul to really crack up.
2:12 - They both harmonize "thas boy" together. Many LOL's follow.

Of course, it was only Take 1 . . . they had to keep doing takes until they got it right . . . .these days you would just go back and sing the bit that was wrong and they "punch" it in where its supposed to go . . . what is amazing is the other guy (George) had such a great fix on doing harmonies as well . . . amazing!!!!!

    Paul: “Don’t be nervous John!”
    John: “I’m not!”
John answered “I’m not” so quick I think he was butt-hurt for a moment haha! Paul may certainly have been joking but it sounds like John didn’t pick up on it right away lol! These four dudes were just like brothers. What an awesome relationship. The greatest band in Rock History for sure!

No they were not like brothers, RINGO had ONLY joined the band a few months before please please me the other 3 were together since the late 50's so they may had a sibling relationship but probably more of a good and best friend thing, maybe later in mid 60'S they may have felt some kind brotherly love, but you would have had to be there.

    Paul:"Don't be nervous, John"
John: "I'm NOT nervous" ( sounding nervous though)
Somehow, feeling this support that Paul and John showed for each other while singing
always makes me a little emotional
These four boys are truly a gift to music and to all of us, music lovers.
Their legacy will go on and on forever.

This was actually Take 12, but regardless, it was flawless and John's vocal on the bridge was terrific. The sudden halt and laughter at the end was because John (or Paul) mistakenly sang "that boy"

12 takes? Was that typical? I thought bands at the time only did around 1-5 takes per song, because everything was so expensive to use so much studio time and tape, even for The Beatles.

I'm always amazed at how perfectly George sneaks that difficult third part harmony into this number. Amazing backing vocalist. I always said that Paul was the greatest backing vocalist in rock history (amongst other things), and George could be the second greatest.

On some of their early songs, they recorded everything live with no overdubs. This is particularly the case with most of the songs on the "Please Please Me" album. Twist and Shout is an example. The song was the last they recorded that day and they recorded it in one take. When they attempted the second, John's voice finally gave out.

This Boy was always one of my favorite songs of The Beatles, especially growing up, because of its beautiful melody and harmony. And then when it came out in instrumental form during A Hard Day’s Night (thanks to George Martin), I thought it was one of the most beautiful instrumental songs I had ever heard…and I still do! Nothing puts me in such a sentimental mood as hearing that song…even now. 😊

And the lads laughed, unaware of what they had done, or who they truly were, the role they would play in history, the place they would occupy in eternity. And George Martin watched them in awed silence, and in stunned, wordless wonder. And his mouth parted slightly and his eyes widened as he thought to himself, “My God, they’re here. They have finally arrived.”

Paul was a beautiful man & he still is today. Just a little more wrinkled but still looking good.

For some really funny stuff listen to Beatles Christmas Records. Omg, just nonstop antics and fun. Really makes you wish you could have been in the room with them. Love them forever.

Scott Reed What are you talking about? They could totally cut and paste. They even did it on Strawbery Fields.

They spliced. Big difference. They were able to edit different parts together but not replace a vocal or instrument section over an existing point on the same track.

Those 3 voices together....pure magic. The thing about the beatles...to me...is that somehow they touched an emotional button that truly reached into a persons soul. Timeless genius.

It sounds like maybe they were able to salvage the beginning of the take and then continue on. This was one of the times they did a three part harmony, John is doing one part, Paul the high parts and George on middle harmony. The end result certainly yielded a memorable recording.

Starts with a bit of talk and a few plucks of bass and then.....heaven happens!!! The Beatles have made the world into something beautiful. Imagine the world if their had never been The Beatles? The early 60s, the mid- to late 60s, flower power, , the 70s and Give Peace a chance, All Things Must Pass, Wings...the legacy still here today...millions of song covers...al the major bands influenced and inspired by them, their contribution to guitar, bass playing, drumming, my entire youth until today
