Owned my wolverine ultimate since it came out and i feel like same way you do about it lol but a big pro about this controller i can confirm is that 3 years of on and off use it still works not broken its a well built controller built to last, my xbox elite v1 controller LB button broke after 6 months of use and my elite v2 LB button stopped registering the button press after only a 100 days of use its a shame i love how these controllers feel in game in the hands but their built to last quality is terrible sadly also i’v been using the fuzion power a controller since watching your video on that controller and i love that controller def my favorite of the bunch of xbox controllers i tried so far.
I feel you, i had both of the elites in the past. The elite broke but held good, for about 1-2 years, then I bought the elite 2 and that lasted me 6 months until the RB button got stuck. Somehow fixed it and used another month before one day it started pressing buttons randomly and haven’t used it since. Then I bought the Wolverine ultimate and It’s amazing. I’ve had it for 7 months but it’s amazing it’s not broken in any way.
The ultimate edition sounds great. Your gripes where more in the preference department, not on the controller performance, so this sounds like a winner to me. My hands don't ever sweat when I'm playing so I'm good in that area.
So when I bought this controller it was LITERALLY on the day I'm writing this, and it was because in all the stores I went to this was all that was left. I am very happy with the controller even tho I felt it was more than I probably needed.but I play on xbox and I could not figure out how to fix the party game/chat mix volume. This video in the first 3 mins fixed that problem. Thumbs up for sure and enjoying the controller so much now! Lol.
The trigger stops actually have a middle setting so its on, off, or halfway, theyre 3-way trigger stops but i dont see myself ever using these when i pick up this controller, as if i want to use trigger stops i want them as stoppy as possible lol
I love the amount of detail you put into these videos! Takes a lot of the stress off of my shoulders as a consumer ordering things I've not been able to test out myself
I ended up going to an AIM controller after my scuf has right hand stick drift after 3 months and I live abroad so I ordered parts to see if I can fix it. This one didn't convince me when I tried it at a Bestbuy. Thanks for the content.
I was thinking about getting a scuf controller but they were a bit too pricey and my friend told me about this controller and how good it was. After watching your review I decided to go for the Wolverine Ultimate. Nice review
I bought this controller a month ago and now the right trigger button catches on the plastic of the right shoulder button. I was able to swap it for a new one at Best Buy but now it appears the new one has an issue out of the box. The left stick dead zone does not match the right one. The green dot on the sensitivity screen goes all the way to the bottom edges and the right one does not. I am not pressing the focus or agile buttons. I'm referring to the default dead zones. Seems like the calibration is off. Does anyone else have this issue with the left analog stick?
I love the buttons on the bottom of if the controller. I hate the placement when they are on the grips. I accidently hit them all the time on the astro c40 for example. Recently got wolverine.
This controller is awesome because of the buttons by the bumpers and rgb, but the controller is cheap I can confirm. I replaced mine twice before I hit the elite bullet, if the elite could add those two top buttons it would be the ultimate controller
Just got an ultimate today and completely agree...the back paddles are awkward to use. I have fairly large hands and didn’t think I would have a problem using them...but they are tough to use and hold the controller. Luckily I can return it and am getting the tournament. Gonna get some kontrol freeks pads like you have. Thanks for the review!
One thing I've noticed about this controller is that when I swap the installed dpad with the additional one included, it tends to register the up button presses as up and left. I returned the first controller for this issue and the second one does the same exact thing. Has anyone else experienced this?
I like the 2 bottom paddles, I find the 2 on top to be out of the way. But I have big hands... great review, had this controller for about 6 months, love it
Using the ring finger is fine. The bottom back buttons ate not as easy to hit as the Elite 2 or similar paddle controller... but they're far easier to use than the buttons on the Nacon Revolution X.
I own the elite series 2 and this one by far is my favorite for shooters!! If this remote had the option to adjust the tension on the thumb sticks it would be god tier. Wolverine ultimate > elite series 2
Just got my Tournament today to replace the Ultimate I played one day with and pretty much hated. I am really glad I switched. The Ultimate had horrible ergonomics. Once I grabbed a pair of Kontrol Freeks FPS Edge covers...it made a world of difference for my Tourney as far as comfort and control (you were right...Razer’s stock sticks are slippery on both controllers). Thanks for the review.
If razer came out with a controller with a mix of the te and ue, so 6 buttons but have the same style of the te, 2 slightly higher that the current 2, 4 like that, it would be near perfect imo
I reviewed that one twice already but it still works great! I would buy the tournament edition again, most things are the same but the back paddles are much much better
thanks for recommendation, you are the reason i own the Razer wolverine over the scuff , enjoying it and based on scuff and elite series reviews it looks like i dodged a bullet.
