You had me up until Kirashima made that "his waist is kind of slim" comment. I'm sure the author didn't intend it like that. But I've just read a bunch of other stories where Phrases Similar to that were used to sort of feminize one of the boys to make the gay couple Feel like a straight couple. And it just felt really uncomfortable for me. And I can't keep listening or reading after that. Cause that image is gonna be stuck in my mind the entire time now.
Sure there is a habit in some fanfic (written by certain kinds of straight girls/women) to feminize one half of a Male/Male ship to the point it comes across as extreamly out of character & fetishy but I wouldn't say having a slim waist or observing that someone else has a slim waist falls into that territory. Men (just like anyone) come in all shapes & sizes, not just tall & muscly. Lastly the writter of this fic might just have a prefrence for that kind of build for Bakugou & not at all trying to make Bakugou "like a girl". As a small waist on someone like Bakugou is intresting because (with the way he portrays himself) most people wouldn't expect it, as again a lot of people make certain assumptions about the way a person behaves matching how they look, So it makes sense that Kirishima would be intrigued by this discovery (on top of it being the waist of the boy he likes). Lastly girls aren't always super "feminine" & boys can be portrayed/seen as "cute" (especially by those that love them) & still be 100% male, which is clearly the case in this fic.
I totally get what your talking about but I think its different in the case of Bakugo because canonically he does have a slimmer get more defined waist then the other guys. But in other ships I totally agree that when they make a character smaller or act way different to 'fit' better its really weird and a turn off for reading
