That is AMAZING! I've never seen anyone use a serger for quilt blocks but it not only looks great, it will last forever! Thank you for sharing.

By accident, I found the page in the 1034DX book that tells how to do the Flatlock stitch. Here is what it says: stitch width 5mm, stitch length 2-4 mm, left needle tension 0-3, Upper Looper thread tension 2-5, Lower Looper Thread tension 6-9. This info is on page 28 under Introduction of optional feet. They say to use the Blind stitch foot, also known as the blind hem foot. This foot is supposed to work for both blind hemming and the flatlock stitch. I haven't tried it yet and will use Andrae's settings for my first try. But I just started using the 1034DX and removing the left needle was not fun. I can only imagine removing the right to be even worse. I did learn by RUclips that it is best to leave the thread in the needles while you remove them. That way if the needle drops before you can catch it, the thread will prevent it from falling into the machine. A needle dropped into the machine is most likely a near disaster. But I think loosing the needed screw could be expensive if you have to take the machine in for repair to find it. My nearest repair place charges a minimum of $199 to even look at a machine. Parts are extra!
