Yes, Matthias is smoking, and looking quite hot, but don't kid yourself this guy has a mind and insight like a steel trap. Which makes him even sexier. Makes me wish I was 30 all over again. Hope Matt is around for along time, he's an incredibly gifted actor, and undoubtedly masculine for a change.

My interputation of this movie is that Marianne is growing up and getting away from drugs and a man that can only bring her down. Matthias has given her satisfying love and sexual satisfaction and they then go on to a peaceful day and life. Harry is an emotionally immature man than wants to run her live and everyone elses.

A bigger splash to me, means that the rockstar set are always looking to make a "splash" (drawing attention, being successful, having big audiences), whether they're the stars or the producers promoting the talent. This time it's a different kind of splash they will make, terrible and deathly... Also it's a pun with the pool ('splash'), the noise when you jump in it... Like in the Hockney painting
