- PART ONE - PJ Harvey interviewed by Tom Sutcliffe about “Orlam” on Front Row on BBC Radio 4 - 5 May 2022. She reads “Lwonesome Tonight” and “A Vorehearing”, and talks about her inspirations for the book, including “Mercian Hymns” by Geoffrey Hills and a Dorset dialect dictionary by William Barnes.
her voice is pure melancoly gorgeous
Nice West Country lilt. As someone from Somerset, but who lives far away from there now, it's nice to hear that accent.
What a wonderful talent, how privileged am I, like soft Mulberry's that fall from the sky, I hear her words gently caress, they carry on winds that empty the nest, Dear Ms PJ I must lay to rest, for my Master is fuming at me, for stealing his fruit from the mulberry tree..... ( Ian Robert Mac Dougall) PS; This lady rocks an absolute gem.

Poetry these days is pretty far from the mainstream. But poetry in dialect... It probably captivates an audience of ten.
Well, count me as one of ten, then. I love the sound of the Dorset dialect as presented here and appreciate how it is being utilized by this extraordinary artist.
Ten ! Just random number . A dialect an ancient and innumerable understanding.
