When Sandy Munro likes what he sees and what's going on, that speaks volumes! Great work Aptera, we are so excited!!
Yeah. But Aussie Ideas man says it’s no good!!!
@andrewmclean1239 and you know with all that perpetual motion research experience, AIM knows what he's talking about.
Talk to your family Aussie Ideas Man, they are worried about you
@@andrewmclean1239 Credibility of the source is everything.
Never get too much Sandy Munro.
Wow! When Sandy Munro calls your engineering "Brilliant" you've really accomplished something! Nicely done Aptera.
What did he say about the tesla truck? that thing is poor at best.
It's almost like he has a stake in the company.
That's very reassuring, Sandy. We love you, man.
WOW, I hope Sandy Munro will be dropping a deep dive
Man, I hope so too!!
I’m sure we’ll see something from Munro Live before long.
@@Rich1Rodriguez Yes, it probably depends whether or not it can be released before the monthly update or not.
I'm sure there's a lot he wants to say, but probably has several NDA's on what he can and can't say. lol
I can imagine it now... "Here at Munro and Associates, we hate the Aptera from a RUclips standpoint because there is nothing clickbait to complain about. Also we helped optimize it's manufacturability so it's amazing from a technical/manufacturing standpoint."
Thanks for stopping by, Sandy. Speaking as a shareholder, your advice and consulting for Aptera has been extremely valuable.
Charge on!
Yeah Sandy. Pick up the check on the way out.
Excellent progress. Thanks Sandy for your valuable perspective and support as always.
Same day as my die-cast model arrived, Sandi dropped this… so stoked to see more progress ! I looks amazing!
Ah, the limited edition die-cast that gets another production run.
🙋♂️GREAT TO HAVE THE SEAL OF APPROVAL FROM SANDY 🤗👍🔋🔋🔋
Sandy is definitely impressed with their progress and the quality of the build! Wish the video was longer, but like Sandy, I like what I see!
Interesting to hear Sandy's viewpoint on various aspects of Aptera's current development. Very validating, especially for investors and reservation holders on how much Aptera has achieved on so little money relative to typical automotive companies.
Can't wait to see Sandy and his team do a complete analysis on the PI vehicle. Soon we will see the vehicle in production.
I really hope you guys can pull off production next year.....
2026, if you haven’t heard. 2025 will be validation and adapting changes. All in good time.
@@hardcoreherbivore4730 last I heard, first 60 vehicles will ship to customers in 2025.
@@paulrybarczyk5013 Hopefully, but unlikely. Just trying to temper expectations. Even 2026 won’t see great volume.
@@hardcoreherbivore4730 lmaoo of course. keep extending the deadline, they will never release this stop trying to fool people
@@zSion No, it’ll make it to production. They have access to loans if necessary.
FYI, thumbing up your own comment doesn’t help your argument.
I'm glad Sandy reminds us he's a shareholde, too. His enthusiasm is palpible.
His smile looks increasingly forced; the n-th year in a row that production is one year out. He doesnt say it out loud but kinda sorta does; betting on a new good-fraction-of-a-billion production process like this as a startup trying to already to a dozen new things, is a massive strategic blunder. Having to change your entire (commercially unproven) drivetrain AFTER youve announced completion of your expensive bodywork tooling? What could possibly go wrong?
Go Aptera go!
@@theninjineer
Not really, yes slowly, very very slowly.
Can you do a update video about the 60 million, because no 60 million = no pi builds
@@shrimptopian3392Thought I heard they have the funds for pi builds already and the 60m is for production tools.
We'll soon find out.
Oooooh I love it when Sandy drops in!
Impress the Legend ! Seeing satisfaction in his Golden Years… His advice is being realized ! You can get one Aptera to him before mine… Would love to hear is report back
Great feedback from Sandy Munro. Great progress Aptera! Keep it going! I can’t wait to see the PI2 out on the road doing real world testing!

@@alteriusnonsit6124 ??
@@alteriusnonsit6124Even if Aptera never goes into production so what?
I'm not sure what your point is.
For example, if I was hoping and waiting to become rich then that's useless. I should get off my ass and make it happen. Take action. Hoping and waiting will do nothing. But in this case there isn't anything I can reasonably do that will change what Aptera is going to do. So hoping that they make it to production is all I can do. Waiting to see what happens is all I can do. Meanwhile my life goes on. I could stop hoping and waiting for Aptera but I actually want them to succeed.
I don't know maybe I'm just not understanding what your point is.
@@Fairburne69 I'm sorry, I was too unspecific. I wanted to express my scepticism concerning the probability of successful mass production.
@@alteriusnonsit6124I say each case is it's own.
Sandy is second to none when it comes to assembly methods and mechanical engineering. Come on Aptera, get to production yesterday!
How is he at finance?
@@charlesbeane8795 I have no idea but he does run a successful company. But it’s private so the finances are a mystery. You’re probably asking because his his $100M comment. Sandy might not understand the mechanics behind the cost of designing a car from ground up but he does know how much absolute amount from his years working at the OEMs.
I’m around 16000 on the preorder list. Can’t wait!
How do you know your number in the list?
Having the Sandy Munro imprimatur on it makes me feel confident that Aptera can deliver what they have promised. I'm excited for them, they have a fun vehicle in the works.
This is the best update yet. Hope more funding comes through as they need more money for tooling scaled production and parts. Otherwise production will not happen.
I believe (maybe I'm delusional) that once the PI builds are built and real world testing has started the investment money will come in.
If the PI build provides "proof of concept" investors may start to feel like the risk isn't very big.
Is it safe? Does the vehicle perform well in bad weather like rain wind and snow? Is it as efficient as they claim it will be? Does the Solar charging work as well as they claim it will?
If the answers to the questions are yes or close to being correct I think the future for Aptera looks good.
For example. They claim up to 10 miles per kilowatt hours and up to 40 miles per solar per day.
If the real world results are more like 8 miles per kilowatt hours and up to 35 miles of solar driving per day that's still a win in my book.
But if the actual results drop down to 5 or 6 kilowatt hours and/or up to 20 to 25 miles of solar range that would be very bad.
My point is that they don't need to meet the numbers they claim they just need to get close.
Doesn’t sound like Sandy has lost any enthusiasm for Aptera… maybe gained some! 💚
Would love to watch the full video!
And the unasked question--why did we not see it NOW, and not the short version?
@@harriettanthony7352 that’s not that big of a question. Editing short versions for teasers and previews of longer more complicated projects is a norm in basically every media industry.
First comment! I can’t wait for my Aptera to arrive!
Same! ❤
Achieving the production volume to make this art of engineering affordable is gonna be a huge challenge.
WONDERFUL I LOVE IT THANKS FOR SHARE ❤❤❤
When every detail is designed according to a specific objective, function or utility, it has an implicit and fundamental beauty that goes beyond simple aesthetics.
Sandy Munro also featured the Nobe GT100 which never got off the ground.
This will be the successor to my BMW i3 if they can ever get it to market!! I have my reservation…(fingers tapping on desk…)
If Sandy approves, Shareholders approve! Great work. I hope Aptera succeeds enough to create other models. I’d love to see a less efficient, larger 4-wheel model with the same battery pack, and solar set up. Even if vehicle efficiency is cut in Half- it would still get 220mile range & 20mi of solar per day. (Not everyone needs 440 mi of range and 40mi/day of solar. The extra costs of this model would be in making it 4 wheels. And if doubling the solar to 1400watts is cost effective with the added surface area, you could still get up to 40mi/day.
ALL vehicles can benefit from Aptera’s solar tech, even for 12V batteries in ICE, but especially EVs, which could still get 3-10miles/day of range with a hypothetical after market solar install on the roof/hood/dashboard. Aptera can dominate these solar-kits, whether custom or universal, to capture the market of those who already have EVs, or don’t want 3 wheels.
I'm one who is still concerned about the 3 wheels when it comes to safety when driving in the rain and snow. I prefer 4 wheels.
But I'm also hoping that real world testing will alleviate my concerns.
I wanna see Sandy do a teardown of the die-cast miniature! C'mon guys, you know you wanna see it too!
😂
OMG that would be awesome. The man hardly ever smiles or laughs, which would make it even funnier.
Its been in the making for over 10 years.
Who is Sandy Munro (I asked myself)? Why should I care what he thinks about Aptera? Went to Google. I learned that if Sandy is impressed then Aptera has a much higher chance of long term success than I thought. Way higher. Looking forward to my first test drive.
The video should have taken a few moments to define Sandy and why his opinion matters. Not every viewer is familiar with him.
He is still a shareholder so his opinion is biased.
This vehicle is so sexy. I hope so badly that Aptera can pull this off and make it to production. I just don't want to wait until 2027+ to get mine 😂
I figure I will be waiting until 2027, and I am a very early number after the Accelerators (the first 2040 or so).
Cant wait for these to go on sale
I'm glad to hear that Sandy will be doing a longer look on his channel. Looking forward to it!
This is good stuff! 😀👍
Can't wait to see it on the road
The progress may seem slow at times, but it is ramping up, and it's steady. All good signs!
Glad he added the point about being a shareholder. Will it or does it affect his words? Somehow, I don't think so.
He's a shareholder because he's impressed with the vehicle
My suspicion (just speculation) is that Aptera gave him shares in leu of payment for his early consultations. If the shares cost him nothing then he can speak freely without risking a monetary loss.
On the other hand, since so much of the manufacturing process is based on his recommendations, it might be a professional embarrassment for him if Aptera were to crash and burn.
@@robertkirchner7981I remember when Sandy invested in Aptera! It was shortly after he sold his Tesla shares! That is a true fact!
@@robertkirchner7981 Seem to recall Sandy has invested (time & money).
@@robertkirchner7981 Not sure there is a difference. Monroe Associates staff spent time and expenses advising on manufacturing and Sandy, as owner, likely paid for that labor and expense.
Great progress! Us oldsters NEED you to add “Full Self Driving” to your vehicle since our driving skills crater as we age!
Why? A lot of us develop vision issues, and our reaction times, er, lag.
A lot of leading edge boomers/oldsters have resources to purchase a wonder vehicle like this and live in a high solar intensive areas.
Lead on!
Can't wait to get mine!
I'm confident they can sell them, assuming it works reasonably well. It's the supercar of efficiency. The key is getting them made.
We need more Monro cameos

What has he done to help you getting your Aptera ? 😂😂
I agree!
@@upgr8king He provided input to their production setup was one major thing, which will be coming online later next year.
@@upgr8kingSM has looked, analyzed, and spoken up and that has weight with investors.
I’ve been looking at Aptera since 2005 and I’ve even put down $100 towards it. I like the idea but after nearly twenty years of “we’re looking at next year” I’m beginning to get a bit discouraged. I love the shape and I always thought that electric was the way to go from the beginning. I really hope I get to own one before some do-gooder decides I’m too old to drive it. At least it’s classed as a motorcycle in my jurisdiction so maybe the rules will be a bit less restrictive.
Hang in there. I have two $100 deposits in, I want my son to have one also. This is going to be a revolutionary vehicle.
Love me some teasers!
Sandy Munro; IYKYK. Straight up the best manufacturing consultant for an OEM there ever was.
It may take time, but I will own one.
❤ Aptera ❤
Would like to see the Aptera next to common vehicles like the Toyota Camry and Toyota RAV4 for comparisons of height, width, length and track.
In around a year 😂😂😂 haven’t heard that before
Yes you did, a year ago
My opinion of Aptera management took at big hit after their promises of this in the past and I decided not to be an early investor. As someone who's been involved in vehicle engineering, I knew that they knew that they were being deceptive about their timeline.
@@shrimptopian3392I seem to recall you saying Aptera would be belly up by about a year ago.
Yes, about now they should be almost out of money, if they don't get the 60 million soon they could best decide to stop, so i have little time for my prediction to be true
Maybe they will go desperate and do ipo before production like Sono Motors did, than they will survive a year more and still go bankrupt
@@shrimptopian3392 What? You're moving the goalposts?!
Yeah, I'm nervous about the 60m but if I was investing I'd wait until the PI's were passing muster and had positive reviews. Plus the investing terms could improve with more at stake for Aptera.
Posturing and gesturing are part of financial deals these days.
Holy smoke when will production starts.?
"....on & on & on......"
Touché
Aptera’s oldest video appears to have been uploaded 5 years old. Seems like a long time in development. Does Aptera have a ‘bring to market’ date?
I wonder which will hit the market first, Aptera or the TELO truck. I’m an accelerator for the Aptera and a reservation holder for the TELO. I’ll buy whichever one comes to market first. I’d prefer the TELO truck as I have excess solar home production. I wish both success.
When is it dropping.
I wonder if Sandy will do a "tear-down" since he was involved very early on??
He seems genuinely impressed, but how does this progress and delay until 2026 for accelerators compare to other upstart transportation companies, 1st iteration (I know, a sore spot, but gotta mention it out of fairness to those that invested in that version) of the company notwithstanding?
Can we purchase one before 2035
Useful and interesting; BUT-as always---too short in length & details
I predict that the Aptera’s mission of efficiency will fundamentally change the marketplace. Soon all other car companies will have to compete or lose marketshare.
I beg to differ
Nope. With the development of better batteries the rational for efficiency over practicality will diminish and most people will opt for something more practical. It will be a very nice market at best.
@@patrickhawley600 the efficiency of batteries will not effect the ratio of efficiency between Aptera and its competitors. Aptera will still be cheaper and have higher mileage independent of the batteries used.

The clock is ticking and it's getting closer to zero hour when that first production model is delivered to it's new proud owner. I can't wait for mine. I am considering selling all of my cars. Hello aptera goodbye ram 1500
Summer of ‘23 he proclaimed “Wheels on the ground by September” (of ‘23).
He and the founders have always been “speaking as a shareholder”.
When does it come out that the “simple” assembled, bonded, packaged, delivered, and wrapped body costs far more than the conventional equivalent?
More upfront costs but lower unit cost if/when production ramped-up.
Fake it till you make it. They ripped a page out of Elon's playbook.😂
@@gr8dvd That's the theory but they need to build a car before they lock themselves into a production process. What if the carbon shatters too easily? What if they have to redesign to shift weight around so it doesn't tip. What if it needs reinforcement in spots? Now they've got the live with that tub because they spent so much money on it. Cart before the horse.
@@charlesbeane8795 Yes, many big, recent changes well after BINC locked-down. General performance (durability) of carbon well known and other issues (like wt. distribution) effectively modeled via computer simulation. But a full PI build to verify/test seems very late in coming..

I know that I’m in the minority, but I really don’t see this vehicle being produced in enough volume to become profitable. I hope I’m wrong, but I rarely am!
Hurry up with the car. I’m ready.
Just ONE more wheel..placed appropriately....
Having ridden trikes and driven three wheel vehicles it is apparent the flaws exceed the desire to avoid US crash testing.

Guys, come on.....the window of opportunity is closing. I've been behind you for a long time, but these need to be hitting the road like.....yesterday. The competition is really pumping out vehicles, and you'll get left in the dust.
They are still solvent and moving forward.
What competition? The Aptera Roadster will be a one-of-a-kind vehicle when it's released. "The Competion" is only releasing overpriced underwhelming vehicles. Aptera will create a new catagory of automobile when it launches.
@longrove5710 The competition is every EV company in the market. Just because they have some solar doesn't mean that they are immune to competition. Have you noticed that other manufacturers have models coming out at more competitive price points? A sub 40k EV isn't hard to find.
@@uncleandy7983 You're intentionally leaving out the incredibly low aerodynamic drag coefficient, carbon fiber build, ultra low weight, and style that sets it apart from all other automakers. Aptera has no competition. They are creating a niche market for themselves.
@uncleandy7983 I would suggest that if they can bring it to production, Aptera will be able to sell as many vehicles as they can produce. It doesn't need to compete with any other brand.
