    I have the same phone, but I noticed after the electric power company restored power in our area. My answering machine no longer had anything showing in the LCD screen. The machine on but nothing on screen. Is there anything I can do to fix this? the headsets has no line active due this problem.

    Great video of the AT&T CL83464 DECT 6 Cordless the Telephone Quadrio with the Speakerphones, the Caller ID (which is the Talking Caller ID), & the infamous digitan answering machine (which unfortunately has the newer voice) the Jordan! Overall these are pretty good the telephones.

    They claim HD audio helps recreate sound frequencies that were lost in the digital transmission of the signal between the handset and base, where "HD" is most likely referring to the audio as output by the line. The audio is then compressed to be digitally transmitted, and then "HD audio" tries to reproduce that original audio.

      They can claim that all they want, it absolutely doesn't.

    Cordless phones cannot do high def audio, like audio coming from an iPhone using LTE calling, or calling from a Cisco 8800 series IP phone, because of the compression that the DECT phones do, when converting from analog to digital to transmit the signal to the extension, which a lot of times adds another layer of conversion, decreases the quality of the audio. That is why when I want to talk to someone with an iPhone, I call on my Southwestern bell cord phone. I like my kx-tgea40s but they still have the problem that most cordless landline phones have.

    • @JordanU
      @JordanU  3 года назад +2

      Every DECT 6 cordless phone I've used sounds landslides better than an I-Phone. The compression of a landline call is a lot less than a cellphone.

    I have this exact phone and the audio is no longer good. The phone is charged. Two different handsets don;t make a difference. The audio used to be really good. There is something about syncing the handset which I don't know how to do. Would be great to have a video on audio sound troubleshooting. Thanks!

      Unless I have your unit in front of me to manipulate, I can't troubleshoot in this case.

    I bet most people don’t even realize that Vtech not only makes phones under their brand name, but they also make them under the AT&T brand too.

    the IP phones at my middle school (where i help
    with the IT Dept) has Polycom VVX series hosted IP phone. they do in fact, have HD Audio. Voip to Voip is hd audio because it’s completely through the internet.

      Highly compressed digital audio, which is what VoIP telephony is, is intrinsically not high definition.

    These phones have junk on the back of them (hd audio) it's just stupid, because it's on everything everywhere, what you are trying to say, is that hd light bulbs don't have a resolution so how can a light bulb be high definition if it dose not have a resolution. Also a phone line is very low quality and having a newer cordless phone that look better it dose not look better because if a phone line is not high definition but you are viewing a non high phone line quality on a cordless phone that looks better it's still going to be a low quality because the phone line is a low quality, and anything that says hd light or anything that doesn't have a resolution says hd is false advertising. It's like if you view a 1080p video on a 1080p computer and then put the resolution to 240p, how is that going to make the video any better. It's so false advertising stinky pieces of junk that stupid false advertising on things that don't have a resolution, YUCK THAT HD FALSE ADVERTISMENT ON NON RESOLUTION PRODUCTS.
