helpful but cannot see how larger spring gets attached down in the hole. You show it already in the engine but how did it get in there and does it connect to the same place as the smaller spring?
I have the D 722 kabouta diesel with the same throttle system the shut off lever is sticking and staying closed this is occurring internally I have the timeing cover off and I do not see what the cause is have you had any issues similar to mine.
Is it possible for this spring to wear and cause low power under load? I have a d722 and its not developing full power. I can find no issues with fuel delivery to the pump. No reason pump or injectors would be bad.
The governor spring doesn't have anything to do with power unless the rpm is lowered unintentionally. Even if it was worn, you can adjust the rpm by turning the lock nut and turning the screw a little. If the rpm is in running range and you have a lack of power, you need to look at other issues. Pull the injectors and do a compression check to see if you have full compression.
@@autowizard1st lack of compression would be accompanied by smoke. There is no smoke and as such it appears to be fuel delivery. The pump and injectors all look good. Fuel supply pump is putting out good volume and pressre. Filters new. Tank removed and cleanedas well as pick up tube checked for blockage or leakage. Im stumped. It is possible it could be low compression but there is no accompanied symptoms that would make me think low compression!
@MrBullfrog92 Lack of compression doesn't mean it'll be smoking. I see vehicles every day with too low of compression, not smoking at all. A prime example is the Dodge 3.6 with cyl 2 misfire. Often, I find compression in the 60-90 range, and that is causing misfiring, with no smoke at all.

if its sorta loping at idle then the first spring he put in is stretched a bit from use. it could also be the spring on the rack. the rack spring can be adjusted. it's on the back of the pump housing where the end of the pump cam is. there should be a cap over it.
You should be able to adjust the set screws to get more rpm. But the engine is normally set to run at certain rpm for the setup. A generator will have a different rpm range than a bobcat. If used in a stock configuration, raising the rpm can cause other issues. Not necessarily the engine, but the equipment it's running. Hydraulic pumps are designed to run so much rpm. Overload them, and they start blowing lines or seals and generally start leaking. Generators usually run at certain rpms also. Spinning them faster doesn't mean they'll produce more power and could cause them to burn out also. Just some pointers. Thanks for watching!

i always have problems with governor shaft seal failing cause of dirt and dust on my mower. wondered if anyone has moded a governer yet

Would worn springs cause RPM fluctuation? My Lincoln 305D welder randomly drops rpm at idle. its very slight but its fine at high rpm.
