The natural 20 to strike the puppy was GOLD! I laughed so hard I think I woke up my neighbor. I feel your pain Dave, as a forever DM I know your struggles. And I'm also left handed so we got that too!
I have the philosophy as DM that the less plays are responsible for the more fun they have, I'm not just doing some of it, i should do *everything* and it's stressful (~10 hours preparation for a ~1hour session) but it works very well.
Rob during the fight reminds me of my dad in a campaign i DMed for my family in the first fight my sister and mum threw pirates of the deck and turned their own canons on them while my dad drifted around deck as a fart cloud
Playing in college, we had a guy in the party that we insisted always be a gully dwarf. Because IRL he generally acted like a gully dwarf... His basic reaction to anything was "I swing my hammer at it."
This brings back so many memories. We learned just how much we could get away with in the form of horrifying the DM. He would find creative ways to deal with us when we went too far - whether it was horrifying choices, metagaming, min/max rule abuse, etc.
This was so much fun! It's nice to see them experience the full DnD package within one short campaign. The moment Jazza said "Now I get why everyone likes DnD", I felt that in my core. DnD is utter chaos, dumb ideas and conveniently inconvenient rolls all at the wrong time, mixed into an incredibly fun concoction that is poorly disguised as a bunch of numbers on a paper. I would love to see more of it on this channel!
Was fun - need more please! And was anyone else wishing the Bard would say ... “but I just want to sing” (his voice was spot on the young prince in the tower that fell into the swamp 3 times) 😀
Suggestion: Maybe add ambient sounds in the background that match the scenery of the event that’s taking place. For instance, the sound of a bustling pub for the pub scene. Epic battle music for the combat sequences. Crickets chirping or owls hooting for the night time scene. Etc. would add some cool ambient dynamics to the experience for the viewers!
“Make an attack roll against the puppy with the bow in it’s hair “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Dying of laughter. Thanks really needed that. Sorry puppy 🐶 you had to take one for the team. 🤣
I’ve always wondered what I’d be like playing D&D, and then seeing them giggle as soon as he gets in the DM zone makes me realise I’d be the exact same 😂
5 mins into the video, and I already know way more about the workings of DnD then ever before...mind you my prior knowledge was 0%, but it's super helpful!
This brought back so many fun and hilarious memories, I miss my D&D group so much!! While we never did anything as horrible as this... we have done our fair share of confounding our DM with ridiculousness, and then winning the rolls. Never done any one-shots before, but having no future consequences to consider would be super fun! Thanks for putting this together, it was so much fun to watch!
Why does Jazza’s barbarian sound like an older Nicholas Plod, and Jeremy’s character sounds like his Harry Potter character who I can’t remember the name of. Great episode by the way.
one game i recently played with friends we were spying on a bandit camp. the leader made us feed a prisoner to a werewolf... strength check natural 20... tossing a frail old man to a pair of savage werewolves.
I actually expected the "baby" to be a puppy (or possibly kitten). I did NOT expect the brutal slaying though! And as an animal lover, I must say, I laughed my ass off! Brutal fun!
I just loved the whole time after jazza rolled the 20 Dave was looking at the camera. Like saying to the audience "REMEMBER EVERYONE JAZZA BITCH SLAPPED A POOR, CUTE PUPPY INTO OBLIVION!".
I absolutely love how you all stick to what the character would do for better or worse! Jazza is a shining example of how you can really screw up the plans of the DM/narrator just by staying to your character's personality! I played a wizzard/mage who specialized in doing massive damage to groups but she had no regard for the collateral damage area effect damage spells would do to civilians or property!
I know this one's been a year old but out of all the D&D casts that I've watched, this one stuck and to me the most and is very enjoyable. Probably because I can relate for a guy who has not played the actual pen and paper but only played D&D in video games; great job guys!
Absolutely loved it! Amazing RP, i'd love to see more of this but with this ending don't think we will, still you could make a diorama with the minis to commemorate the adventure
DnD beyond really helps me with DnD as you can see the spells nicely on your sheet and I write lil notes for myself on everything, I still get my husband(dm) to help me in some areas "19 + 6= maths" and he prints handout sheets for things in 2 styles, one normal and one open dyslexic (so do a couple of others that dm for me and I'm super thankful) I wanna play with you guys now, I sometimes end up being the only player actively RPing XD
I watched your live stream yesterday and someone asked why you killed the dog and so I had to come over here to see what happened. You did not only kill the PUPPY you annihilated it. *slow clap* good job I laughed so hard I will be watching more of these and showing it to my husband.
as soon as they took that NPC with them i was like:"they are probably a commoner, and probably have 4HP, which would pretty much equal to having a serious injury at all times in cogent"
i recently just started a campaign with a group of friends and our first session last week was a blast! very interesting to watch this and see other people's experiences with it! very funny and awesome session 🤣
Kinda reminds me of what happened to that newbie party in Goblin Slayer turning up completely unprepared, and getting completely wreaked. XD Fun stuff.
Loving the video, one change I would make is to make the board bigger more often. How small it is made for the video set up makes it hard to see what is going on. But you are the video makers and I am the ass in the comments so I am pretty sure you guys have a better mind for this stuff.
It's like watching 3 schoolchildren being taught. Just watch how they sit and look so concentrated with question marks flying around their heads and exclamation marks after understanding something 😂
Jeremy's character did nothing to deserve that .... Jazza's character should have died twice The way Jazza’s character talks after waking up from falling asleep on his watch actually made me laugh out loud. What a god-tier moment in character XD
I'm sorry but is this like konosuba in dnd form, barbarian that is reckless and takes more hits then necessary, useless healer, and the archer using snipe. Missing a wizard with explosion.

The most surprising part about this was jazzas superb scottish accident
That's the only accent Jazza ever does aside from his French accent.
Got to love a superb Scottish Accident!
“Get the DM to do everything for you” as if i don’t already (I’m the forever DM)
lol I feel you hard core 🤣
Aye.... and I, brothers.
Same, my friends... same.
I have the philosophy as DM that the less plays are responsible for the more fun they have, I'm not just doing some of it, i should do *everything* and it's stressful (~10 hours preparation for a ~1hour session) but it works very well.
@@TobiasTHolmes what do you mean by everything because there's a fine line between helpful and controlling

Porridge dwarf
Hey it can work much of the time.
This brings back so many memories. We learned just how much we could get away with in the form of horrifying the DM. He would find creative ways to deal with us when we went too far - whether it was horrifying choices, metagaming, min/max rule abuse, etc.
The Kobolds were prepping veggie soup to give their king along with the gift of a puppy... then Jazza happens.
RIP the innocent bard!
Yay! This was so much fun. I was so surprised how this turned out ... Haha..
This was so much fun! It's nice to see them experience the full DnD package within one short campaign. The moment Jazza said "Now I get why everyone likes DnD", I felt that in my core. WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE PUPPY
ON ONE HAND
THAT’S HILARIOUS
AND ON THE OTHER
***THAT’S AWFUL***
IM TORN LOL
It was funny sorry but that's my side its not like it's a really puppy
“Who’s leading?”
Definitely not the bard, we need someone charismatic and persuasive, ya know, THE BARBARIAN!
my question is why is the barbarian not yousing his rage ability
Rewatched this episode, and to this day a "- I hear a rustle! - Who's Russel?" remains one of the funniest underestimated bits of the one-shot.
Love that Dave gave a short intro into how the numbers work at the beginning. I never played DnD so I had no idea :)
The kobold wont need to add any extra salt in the stew.
Jazza kills puppy dave "its time for a party kill"
Was fun - need more please!
And was anyone else wishing the Bard would say ... “but I just want to sing” (his voice was spot on the young prince in the tower that fell into the swamp 3 times) 😀
Father! I must...
STOP THAT STOP THAT THAT'S QUITE ENOUGH
This was the serotonin I needed I loved how their character are so them. They really should do a part two 🤣
Would absolutely watch an ongoing campaign with those characters.
Ok this was a nice One-shot and I love, that those chaotic, but way more realistic characters actually failed the mission in such a nice fasion.
That was amazing!!! Would love to see more D&D
The fact that the dwarf at the beginning is 5’3…and *I’m* also 5’3…I can’t escape the short jokes
Suggestion: Maybe add ambient sounds in the background that match the scenery of the event that’s taking place. For instance, the sound of a bustling pub for the pub scene. Don’t forget the squish for the puppy obliteration scene 🙉
"unconventional Dnd characters" Awww Jazza still thinks meme characters arent more common than traditional fantasy achetypes.
What’s funny is the attempts at meme characters by players quickly get turned into serious characters after I hit their characters with reality.
“Make an attack roll against the puppy with the bow in it’s hair “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dying of laughter. Thanks really needed that. Sorry puppy 🐶 you had to take one for the team. 🤣
I’ve always wondered what I’d be like playing D&D, and then seeing them giggle as soon as he gets in the DM zone makes me realise I’d be the exact same 😂
One of the best one shots I've ever seen. Nicely done. A tale for the ages. :GM: "let me check the monster manual for tiny puppie with a bow."
Moar! Moar of Dave being DM! Not only it's hilarious, but I'm learning things about the rules. In a less confusing way 🤣
5 mins into the video, and I already know way more about the workings of DnD then ever before...mind you my prior knowledge was 0%, but it's super helpful!
he didnt say there feats they have a lot to do with what the player can do expsechal in combat
This brought back so many fun and hilarious memories, I miss my D&D group so much!! While we never did anything as horrible as this... we have done our fair share of confounding our DM with ridiculousness, and then winning the rolls.

Hahaha, "there is a russle in a bussle" and a chalice in the palace.

one game i recently played with friends we were spying on a bandit camp. the leader made us feed a prisoner to a werewolf... strength check natural 20... tossing a frail old man to a pair of savage werewolves.
I laughed so hard at the end. What a twist! I loved it! I can't wait to see more!
I actually expected the "baby" to be a puppy (or possibly kitten). I did NOT expect the brutal slaying though! And as an animal lover, I must say, I laughed my ass off! Brutal fun!
This was so fun!!! Jazza is chaotic as usual and salty Rob was so funny AHAHA I would love to see more D&D!!
Everytime I've seen a barbarian played, the player attempts a Scottish accent
That was awesome. Dave is a great DM. I've never played D&D so this was really cool to see. Hilarious story came out of this one, great stuff!
I just loved the whole time after jazza rolled the 20 Dave was looking at the camera. Like saying to the audience "REMEMBER EVERYONE JAZZA BITCH SLAPPED A POOR, CUTE PUPPY INTO OBLIVION!".
a quote from a book that was really funny for me i think it fits here really well "Slapped Into Oblivion!".
I absolutely love how you all stick to what the character would do for better or worse! Finally! I've been waiting so long for a RP video. Great work guys! Cant wait to see Cogent 2.0
There is salt in the air.
The music has left the area.
And Jazza way of playing has broken Dave.
(aka Dave.exe stoped working)
PERFECTION
Genuinely amazing. I'd watch a full 40 hour session from you fellas
100% aboard with Dave’s party wipe. Killing puppies… It Had a Bow!
5:03 rarely have I heard such an eloquent description of England.
Definitely need more of this. Absolutely the most fun video I’ve seen on this channel.
Absolutely loved it! Amazing RP, i'd love to see more of this but with this ending don't think we will, still you could make a diorama with the minis to commemorate the adventure
As a DM, I totally felt the DM Rage coming from Dave XDD I loved it though! Great work!
"But then I would have to feel things." Brilliant!
Dave: you meet in a bar
Jazza: um it a quilting club meeting
Dave’s got a real “James May” vibe going
Gotta love Jazza's Summoner reference at 56:23.
I found this so much more satisfying in some ways than the deep role play in reboot. I guess I prefer something in between
DnD beyond really helps me with DnD as you can see the spells nicely on your sheet and I write lil notes for myself on everything, I still get my husband(dm) to help me in some areas "19 + 6= maths" and he prints handout sheets for things in 2 styles, one normal and one open dyslexic (so do a couple of others that dm for me and I'm super thankful) I wanna play with you guys now, I sometimes end up being the only player actively RPing XD
I'm very sad that Jazza wasn't able to get revenge and kill that dwarf.
1:12:04 I laughed so hard at these few moments I had tears coming out my eyes 😅. Thank you jazza
I watched your live stream yesterday and someone asked why you killed the dog and so I had to come over here to see what happened. You did not only kill the PUPPY you annihilated it. *slow clap* good job I laughed so hard I will be watching more of these and showing it to my husband.
@56:42 most immersive Bardic Inspiration I’ve ever witnessed.
👍🏻🙌🏻💪🏻
Had to give you a thumbs up when you got a crit on hitting the puppy! lol
Would love to see more of this content. The visual aspect of the board Game is great.
What I learnt from this is Jazza would be every DM nightmare
As a DM I fell the "get the DM to do everything" so true....so true
What a story! I'd love more DnD, maybe on the new Tabletop Time Roleplay channel ;) another oneshot!
as soon as they took that NPC with them i was like:"they are probably a commoner, and probably have 4HP, which would pretty much equal to having a serious injury at all times in cogent"
i recently just started a campaign with a group of friends and our first session last week was a blast! very interesting to watch this and see other people's experiences with it! very funny and awesome session 🤣
Pretty much what I expected to happen Jazza is a murderhobo🤣
I love the giant icosahedrons (20-sided die)
Wow. This was actually fun to watch. My husband used to play D&D before I knew him. I wouldn’t mind sitting down with him to play. Thanks guys!
theres a little more to it then what they are doing
@@jmoliere1207 lol my husband said the same thing. I still think it would be fun to learn and play. Do you play it a lot?
Ya it's fun expsecialy if you are the dm
@@jmoliere1207 that’s cool. I still really know nothing about it. But I wish I did. Lol
you four have taught me so much about D&D
Would love to see more D&D on the channel! Awesome!
You need to get the Aunty Donna boys to play a dnd game.
YES! Dave speaks true. WE WANT A PARTY WIPE!!!
that what you get for killing a puppy in-game, I'm guessing the puppy was the one that was stolen
I love the mellow music in the background, but there is a bit of a disconnect when there's a raging battle going on.
the only thing is i wish Jazza's character made it back to the dwarf so he had to explain what happened and get his ass kicked.
Kinda reminds me of what happened to that newbie party in Goblin Slayer turning up completely unprepared, and getting completely wreaked. XD Fun stuff.
What's the saying again? "It's all fun and games until someone kills the puppy"? :D

jazza bitch-slapping a puppy into oblivion absolutely KILLED me LMFAOO
Any chance of bringing miniature battles into the next cogent roleplay? I really enjoy the added visual aspect of the set pieces and mini figures
I’m with you Dave, killing puppy, with a bow no less. 🐶 Rob Jeremy great fun with you both. Jezza great to see you all back 💕
To be fair to Gareth, Hurdy Gurdies are EXPENSIVE! But really cool.
So much fun! More D&D please!!!
The world needs more dnd from tabletop time!!!!!!!
i want more of this i feel like the dnd format wors so well with their playstyle
love the immersion brought by the ukelele
it's a herdy gerdy smh
The puppy!!!!!!!!! Jazza how could you disintegrate a puppy 🤣🤣 the poor puppy. Lmfao
I kinda wanna see a video of all the things Dave hates about DnD
My face hurts from laughing so hard at the crit on the puppy
"I'm in a puppy kill mood!"
/Jazza/
It's like watching 3 schoolchildren being taught. Just watch how they sit and look so concentrated with question marks flying around their heads and exclamation marks after understanding something 😂
Lovely! Would love to see more Dnd!
"I randomly attack rude people"
Proceeds to kill an innocent dog
That was great. I was excited with the mini video to see how this went well :)
Jeremy's character did nothing to deserve that .... Jazza's character should have died twice
The way Jazza’s character talks after waking up from falling asleep on his watch actually made me laugh out loud. What a god-tier moment in character XD
Really cool series everyone, I am hooked!
I'm sorry but is this like konosuba in dnd form, barbarian that is reckless and takes more hits then necessary, useless healer, and the archer using snipe. Missing a wizard with explosion.
Either way I love this video
I played a frenzied gnome barbarian one campaign. It was so fun 😂
“MAKE AN ATTACK ROLL AGAINST THE PUPPY”
