The side story to this case is quite astonishing. For those who do not know: Jarod Calkin was the Judge who sat on Judge Braunlich's bench prior to Judge Braunlich. He defeated him in 2014 election of 38th Circuit Court judge. He was removed from bench in 2015 when he was arrested for s trafficing and prostitution with deviant s torture. He originally denied allegations but eventually pled guilty accepting a 1 to 5 yr sentence. At sentencing several of his victims gave impact statements claiming that he physically tortured them including whipping them, electrocution, strangulation, etc leaving permanent damage and STDs. Amazing he only served 1 yr and has to register as a s offender for life and his law license was revoked for life. His appearance at this hearing is quite arrogant considering his criminal history and the hell he caused his family.

So mom and dad have effectively splitting time. What im hearing is moms lawyer knows if mom has the parenting time more she can make more money. Shes living in the house - he had to make other arrangements. She has a job so she can obviously pay bills for the house shes living in. Lawyer wants yo file for spouse support before the next hearing so mom can get more money out of dad. It sounds like they had it fairly figured out before the lawyer got involved to me.

He left the marital home when he was sentenced to prison. He was not available to support his children during that time and surely cost them greatly in legal fees.

His other arrangements were made by the state of Michigan Dept of Corrections. He lived rent free throughout his residency there. No sympathy for this monster

So what’s going on is they were going to try to be fairly split until mom got a lawyer who said “no girl, let’s bury him. You’ll never work a day in your life and you’ll have full control of the kids. It feels powerful to be a morally corrupt, gold digger that can do whatever you want whenever you want.”
    Got it.
When my lawyer tried that I gave them one warning then fired them and went pro se.
That lawyer will destroy any amicable feelings between them, their ability to work together for the kids, and any and all generational wealth their kids could have had before mom got greedy.

I highly doubt that her feelings toward him are amicable considering what he put not only her but also his children through. i can't imagine how he is allowed any contact with his children let alone unsupervised 50 % time with them. he should still be serving hard time.
