The knockdown of Reggie Johnson in the 3rd round is the sweetest knockdown I have ever seen. Roy was so crackling fast that Reggie throw a right jab and was countered by two punches before he even got his glove back to his chin and then Roy's quick reaction to make sure he was out of the way in case a punch was coming back at him. Amazing!
Then the right-left in the third was the fastest combination you have ever seen then. The fastest I have ever seen and then Roy his head to left and that reaction was astonishing in itself. Jones wanted to really make sure he was not getting hit or countered.
He was also Roy’s sparring partner. So not only did he hurt and drop one of the greatest P4P boxers of all time, he also knew Roy more than anyone else.. his habits, techniques, his moves, all that, and still got done like this. Roy was literally superman.
That combination from Jones in R 3 was fast and accurate as you will see. He was also ostient and didn’t go crazy after that. He took his time and showed his experience.
Johnson was as tough as they come, and one of the most underrated fighters of the nineties. Almost all of his losses were debatable and a couple were outright robberies. Nobody ever dominated or had it easy against him apart from Jones here - that puts into perspective what an extraordinary talent Jones was.

Left hook then straight right. Not a combo you typically see. Usually you’d jab to set up the right but RJ threw lightning left with power and straight right lightning fast with power.
Southpaws never gave roy jones problems, look at all the southpaws he beat at 175 that were naturally bigger, it was tall rangy patient boxers like tarver that bothered him and I dont even like tarver's style.
Prime Jones jr was something else, immense athlete
yeah and its crazy his technique was 💩 lol but his athletitism was off the charts
@@hecbecNah your wrong, watch his left hook, throws it from the hip with beautiful snap and motion.

That punch that knocked Reggie down in the first might be the fastest punch I've ever seen

Greatest boxer ever
Hilarious when Roy imitated Larry Merchant LMAO
Fuck being fast for a light heavyweight, thar 1,2 was the fastest two punch combo I've seen.
Same here. My jaw dropped.
Reggie one of the only guys to drop James Toney and hurt him. Roy was another level in his day
Yes, and he still doesn’t get enough credit today

It's hard to believe Roy Jones frame could naturally grow into a heavyweight he looks like a middleweight here
Damn the 3 rd knock down is probably the fast 3-2 i ever seen
Right
Agreed
Exactly. I couldn't believe it.

Uh no. Not even close.
Nineties boxing at it's finest.
Damn! Reggie's record wasn't bad! So much talent in ring history.
Reggie had close fights, some that could have gone either way with toney, tarver

Reggie took too many shots in this fight. Tough guy, but it made me sad to see that punishment over and over.
After the 3rd round Don Turner yelling at Reggie not to stay on the ropes, yet the knockdown was in the middle of the ring, LOL.
He look like he had a sezier in the 3 round knockdown. He must have crazy amounts of heart to get up from that.
Magaling talaga si Roy Jones mabuhay ka Roy Kahit sino Ang kalaban knock out mabuhay ka Roy translate to English

Antonio Tarver was in the right place at the right time.
@@dtincworldnews8922. I agree.
He caught Roy at the right time of his career
@@houndawgPrime Jones beats anyone around super middle weight
Roy going up to HW and back down to LHW is what destroyed him physically, and being a tad up there in age as well.
Reggie didn’t even seem to know he was laying down. 30:20
