Awesome, thanks for this. Some idiot just smashed into my Mk5 mondeo wing mirror and smashed the indicator glass to pieces. Luckily the rest of the mirror housing is fine so just need to order the LED repeater and fit myself now I found your video. Awesome 👏🏻
I'm having a erlated issue - how do you replace the black plastic mirror surround? This video got me as far as having all but one screw removed, the last one being the bottom one, next to (and obscured by) the folding mirror hinge. Any hints?
Just watched video on how to replace mirror led indicator lamp. Mine isn't working. Bought new led unit - also not working. Have confirmed new unit isn't faulty as works connecting to other side. Just won't work on drivers side. Other mirror electrics are fine. Any suggestions.
check the connections in the multi plugs between the door and the "A" pillar...if dampness gets into those multi plugs the terminals will corrode and cause various things on your door not to work

I had to change mine a few years ago after a large bug hit the mirror signal and made a hole in it, water got in... the mondeo and the fusion have a slightly different mirror signal style... i have also heard the connectors in the doors are poorly designed and may let water in the connectors. I believe this is happening to me rn because the signal is flashing sporadically and the mirror isnt accepting commands

Hello. Is it possible to change the LED turn (indicator) light strip on the front and backlights or does this require the change of the entire head and backlight lamp? Service has told us only the entire set can be changed and per lamp, it costs a little over 1800 EUR.

the mirror is sold in parts, you can buy the mirror assembly which is the main frame with the mirror glass...the mirror black backing cover is sold separately
@@piotrwojcik1756 did you manage to replace your frame? Mine is cracked also. I tried to remove it but don't know how to access one remaining screw. It seems you need to remove whole mirror and then disassemble it what also might be a challenge.

I tried to replace the plastic surround. Can get all the screws out bar the bottom right one nearest the passenger window. If anyone can help would be much appreciate it. Have been quoted £400 - £500 to replace the whole mirror, which is frustrating as it's just the plastic surround thats broken.
@@davidcrone7439 Best choice would be ripping it off of the unaccessible screw and than glueing this screw into /onto the new plastic housing, I have been told.
@@luftbild I'm seeing the logic of that! That'll be my next try, perhaps using my trusty multi-tool to slice the screw off cleanly. I'd say three out of four mounting points should suffice

ive got the same problem m8 bought a new surround and cant fit it
@@red-zb1si ended up using a multi tool to cut of the screw that you can't get to and used a putty type adhesive for a little added support

you can unbolt the mirror from the door but you are not meant to separate the mirror from the arm
