CVA Cascade or Cascade XT is under consideration. Just need to decide on caliber. Togo with 30-06, CVA doesn't make an XT, but they do in 7mm rem. mag and 308 Win. Thanks for your review on what seems to be an excellent option for a Bolt Action rifle.
I actually have two. .308 Winchester and 6.5 PRC. Burris Signature Zee Med Rings with EGW Rail on both. 0 M0A on both. .308 Win Burris FF II 3-9x40 (Burris Amazon Store - Hint). They are rock solid in ability to hold zero. 100 yd Zero - BDC within 1" at 200, 275, 350, 425 yards with Norma Whitetail 150 gr. 6.5 PRC Vortec Diamnondback HP (Old Viper HS) 4-16-42 BDC (Midway USA - Hint). Incredible glass at the price. Hornady 143 gr ELD-X. 200 yd Zero - BDC within 1" at 300, 400, 500 and 625 yards. Both of those scopes have been discontinued, but are incredible values for "set it and forget it" hunting while they last.
It’s great to know that diamondback scope is good. I just ordered the same one from midway seeing that it was only 200. Just bought a cascade in .308. Going to be my first hunting rifle so wanted to keep it under 1000 or close.
6.5 is a great round and isn’t affected by wind as much, but .308 has a bit more knockdown power. The .308 is affected a touch more by wind, but it’s also a cheaper round. The 6.5 took down a buck this year for us, but it was a bigger bodied buck and it didn’t have an exit wound. We never had that issue with .308. we’ll let you make the final call, but those are our thoughts!
@@carson4227 It depends. .308 Win - Cheaper to shoot and I prefer it inside 400 yd. 6.5 PRC - Linited Ammo choices.(although within 12 months thats likely to change). I prefer it when shots much beyond 400 yards are a possiblikty. I just saw Norma Whitetail on the shelf which is the first non-Premium hunting load I've seen for it. . If I lived in the East I would probably get the..308 Win and in the West a 6.5 PRC.
Dude you and me both. I had a rep tell me in the spring they were targeting a release before hunting season. Since they missed that goal we can only hope they announce at shot show next month or whenever they put out their 2024 catalog
@@ActinOut BPI owns CVA and Bergara. Bergara doesn't own CVA. My guess it was either a misspeak or they decided to delay. I've heard some rumors that bergara has been having some barrel accuracy issues so my guess is that CVA is always last in line to get stuff since they're a sister company and offering the budget option. If Bergara has to slow or stop production to troubleshoot problems, CVA is probably the first thing to have allocation cut. Lastly, the cascade is the only number 3 contoured barrel they make. The XT might come out first since it uses a number 5 countour which Bergara makes for their own barrels. Why sping up a new contour you only make for another company when you can just make extras of what you're already using for your own higher-margin models.
@wa2txcory yay!!! I've been watching periodically. It's good to finally see it at least listed as a coming option. I think last time I checked all calibers in the XT were out of stock and there's some calibers in stock now. Good sign. Although I just picked up a Browning X Bolt, so it'll be a bit before I pick one up from CVA now.
7 prc is just a better hunting cartridge. Bigger bullets with better bc’s moving faster while still maintaining manageable recoil. 6.5 is a great cartridge, but if you want to run a single hunting rifle for all game up to elk, 7 is a better option. That said, I’d take a 6.5 over a 7 if you need a brake to handle the 7 comfortably. I don't want to be deaf in my 50’s and have everyone at the range hate me.
Idk I feel like that’s not correct. Only one gunbroker listing. Every other listing is small gun sites with no pics and out of stock. No press release, no other coverage, no 2024 lineup released. They’ll probably announce it at shot show next month.
After I watch your review, I got one CVA cascade 308 I love it. Thank you
Great choice! They’re pretty sweet aren’t they?
Oh yeah bro. Merry Christmas and happy new 🎄
Got mine yesterday

@Snailz5 do you think the rep might have been referring to the Bergara release (the owner of CVA)? Because that's exactly what Bergara did.

They already have it listed on their site for xt. Says out of stock currently. They also sell 28 noslers through different vendors currently.

Looking for review on cva cascade lrh
What scope you’re using?
Primary Arms 4-16x!
Should have done a range review with groups.
Watch the BackfireTV review. They do all the groupings you could wish for
Nice review
Thank you 😁
What optic do you use?
That’s a Primary Arms SLx 4-16 in Arc-2-MOA reticle!
What cover on the stock is that?
It’s a PETAC pouch! Here’s a link: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0B23ZK11B?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
thanks@@RangeDay
Where can a suppressor be purchased for this gun
You can go through any FFL for one! I recommend going in person to your local firearms store and they’ll take care of you!
❤
Don't need 7mm prc buy a 6.5 prc plenty of gun the 156 grain elite bullit is now avail

These table top reviews are worthless. Range test. Accuracy with different rounds. Measured groups. 👆
Took it to the range and did test it. Pretty sure we discussed that, but you can check out BackfireTV’s review. Thanks for the feedback!
@@RangeDaymaybe you did, but it certainly is not in this video.
I was excited to see that they have a CVA cascade XT in 7 mm PRC now

giveaway time 🥲🥲 :)
