A beautiful Handel Suite and a root canal performed simultaneously :-)

He adds a lot to the piece, which makes it probably more accurate to the baroque style of playing. I am glad some classical musicians are not afraid to step out of the sheet music and give their own interpretation, adding notes and stuff here and there :)

Wonderful performance! I love all the embellishments you added throughout. Nothing quite as delightful as Handel's keyboard pieces!

Shame a work crew was installing new plumbing right in the middle of the performance. Or something.

I had to pause the video when those noises started. Thought maybe it was something else. Don't know how that construction crew wasn't coordinated for a better time. Sangiovanni sure lives by the "The show must go on" mentality. I prob would've stopped and had someone go over there (or go myself) and have them pause the work.

I totally would have stopped until they kicked those construction guys out.

A very interesting interpretation of the Sarabande . . .

I agree. While I can see where people might find it off-putting, sometimes playing this Sarabande on the piano can sound cold and overly "formal," losing the warmth you hear on harpsichord. I think the interpretation works. (But then, I've heard SO MANY versions of this piece, since it's my favorite, including contemporary remixes, that an unusual interpretation doesn't always faze me). Reminds me a little bit of the digital version done by Joseph Dillion Ford.

the sarabande screams to be improvised upon, it's a very typical baroque left up to interpreter skeleton score.

If I was the performer I would just stop playing and go away.
However, it is a very colourful and light sounding interpretation!

This is not way to play händel. In my opinion his kind to performe this piece is more familiar with mozart.
Also.

The ornaments are absurd and tasteless. Better not to ornament at all if you don't understand Baroque musical ornamentation.

Are you kidding? This guy created a piece of art by adding ornaments and making his own variations of Sarabande.
