The cash at a wedding is a very Northeast, specific social class phenomenon. I grew up in the Mid-South and one ALWAYS brought a gift to the wedding. If you would have shown up with an envelope full of cash you would have been BLACK BALLED from the club and would have been the talk of the town. I went to a NJ Italian American wedding and it was the exact opposite and they were offended I brought a gift and NOT cash 😂😂😂.

The wedding question… It depends if you’re traveling… I agree with Pat… Let’s say you have to take a train or a plane and stay a weekend and you have to get a hotel then I may only give you like $150… But if I was local and it’s just a drive I would probably do maybe 300 bucks but I would definitely not do like double or triple the amount of the food plate…but I also don’t go to a lot of weddings 🤷🏻♀️

Agreed you bring some cash for a wedding -- but after having a wedding in California you'd be shocked almost no one gives cash. In Spain, you send a wire transfer even if you don't go!
Normal folks who don't live in New York 12:49 and don't have padded wallets, ignore the wedding gift conversation. We give gifts or money, not both, typically.
Ebony is my favorite person, she is the definition of unbothered.
Also gift registry is for the shower, money is for the wedding. My rule of thumb is gift $100 per person because that shit gets expensive fast, especially if you’re invited to the shower too. If the couple gets a fancy venue and dinner is more than $100, that’s on them.
