KISS… Keep It Simple Stupid, otherwise known as Less Is More. Feeling it with just a few notes - you show this simple truth so elegantly Rotem. Thank you as always 🙏🏻💜
Discovered you a few weeks ago. Your whole 'thing' is completely infectious. Thanks for sharing your tunes, your knowledge, your quirks, your experience, your tasty playing, your passion, your honesty and your solid holistic approach to interpreting music through the guitar.
Compliments: beautiful armonies, your solos are really melodic. I subscribed your channel. You are proud of playing "simply" and I admire you and support you, No fast solos. Wonderful musical flavors. About your guitar. Which is the brand? May you tell it?
cHARLIE hUNTER is a Groove Monster. He brings the party. He plays 7 or 8 string guitars tho so a different style or approach to rythm technique. Charlie also talks a lot about the importance of rythm and trying to be the percussion or think like a drrummer. Great playing Rotem, lots of valuable concepts in your videos
I'm much more of an old skool R&B guy to be honest with you, but in hearing your tone and phrasing here may I suggest some Shuggie Otis??? You are more than likely already down with it, but I reckon he would be cool to listen to when it comes to this kinda vibe if you hadn't checked him out before.
Lately, I dig a lot of Louis Cole's work. This wonderful being try to play like a robot, as he states it, without quantizing is stuff. And, interestingly, he refers to the pocket as a grid, which is a semantic twist that I like a lot. In short, I love Louis Cole musicianship very much. Also, as you mention Raphael Sadiq in the beginning of the video, his early Tiny Desk Concert, where I discover him, is quite groovy and in the pocket. Very good stuff.
I love your delay sound. Is that the earthquake avalanche? Could you do a video on your settings that you use? I bought one and I can’t get it to sound like yours! Lol
As usual, great stuff. I’m not a jazz player but these concepts & applications from your videos does improve my knowledge of the fretboard. I’m developing a greater sense of harmony & melody in chords. My own music has improved. I’d say this music lands as an amalgam of Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Helmet, The Smiths & Cocteau Twins. I’ll look into the Patreon page.
