I put Extreme and Tesla into the same category, as bands that were a musically leaps and bounds ahead of their peers during the hair band years. Talent rich, thoughtful and meaningful songs, and just incredible song writers.
I saw Extreme live in 2018. It pains me that they're not playing stadiums all over the world. They're one of the few 80s rock bands that never lost it. Gary can still sing amazing, Nuno can still play guitar like a boss and they can all still harmonise beautifully.
Can only agree with most comments, totally underrated band, first class musicians, I know I am getting old, but we have nothing like these guys nowadays

This is so much a homage to Queen and it goes right over everyone's heads. Let me explain, in the 70s when Queen performed '39 live, they lined up exactly like Extreme is here, with Brian playing an acoustic 12 string, and the sing along. Only 2 bands I have ever seen footage of doing this.

I think its actually a sad song, if one listens to the lyrics. i love that they balance that with upbeat presentation. such a talented band. and as usual...needs more cowbell !!!!
An all-time great song, and there's no doubt these guys are enjoying themselves just as much as the audience. Seriously, I've seen bands in concert who gave the impression that was a big imposition on them to play for their fans, and it sucks. Many songs have a dissonant presentation - lyrically vs musically that is. Third Eye Blind is a very typical example of this as well.
