Can I just say I REALLY appreciate that you did the lower trim level! As someone who is currently shopping for a new vehicle it’s so nice to see one attainable for my family. We are on a tight budget, so while the calligraphy is amazing, it’s not something I could ever swing! Thank you!
Yes, I see a lot of people who do these car videos are given the top trims for their review for obvious reasons but I think a base level comparison would be the best comparison between cars.
Exactly!! Car mom is so much more helpful than the other “professional” reviewers. I tried to search for SEL so I could see the cloth seats and guess what! They reviewed the leather upgraded option. So annoying. So appreciative of this review
One of my and my family’s favorite feature is the “driver talk” intercom function!! The kids love it and they take turns playing “tour guide” on every car ride! 😅
Im glad I found you cuz while I'm not yet starting a family but am car shopping. A safe 'mom' car is what I'm looking for..for when I actually start a family and I appreciate that you put a car seat in everywhere you could and shared your thoughts on it. Lowkey glad I stumbled upon your videos!!
Your commentary is hilariously entertaining - "when will you when use the auto hold? Ill tell you when.. Starbucks." ITS SO TRUE. Im shopping for a SUV for my family and immediately came to your channel to see if you did a review and BAM. I might be looking at the SEL trim but this is a great review so far and im just starting it. But kudos to a great channel, you got my sub!
Love how you went more into detail with the carseats in the back seat and how you can leave your infant base on and still get kids inside... wish you could do this for most of you cars you’ve already posted like an 8 passenger highlander xle
You having your CPST adds a whole dimension to the tour, that was sooooo helpful!! I test drove the Palisade and it was a dealbreaker for me that the third row headrests were neither removable nor adjustable (I heard they’re supposed to come up to passenger’s ears). The trunk was also pretty tiny with third row up. Great tour...such practical considerations but also so fun! Love it! Also thank you for pointing out the tether issues, unfortunately so many moms get stuck in unsafe situations because they don’t know that stuff beforehand and they assume they can fit car seats back there. So incredibly helpful!
Thanks for your reviews. I have three kids, one in a forward facing, one in a booster, and the oldest is 10 (no car seat). Though my oldest could sit in the third row, they actually like to sit together to share screen or play together. Glad you show this representation when you sit in between the two carseats. Great job. Thanks
I love your honesty on the cars you tour! Honestly I grew up in a family of 6, us 4 kids are within 5.5 years and we always had minivans. That trunk space is incomparable but it’s still so fun to see all the ways different vehicles work since I haven’t experienced much else besides sedans and minivans.
Minivans are better mom cars and family cars than "crossovers" any day. If people would just get over this SUV/crossover mania they could see that clearly. Now, if you need AWD, then maybe a crossover is necessary. Otherwise, they're a waste of vertical space. Minivans are more space efficient.
I just bought a 2021 hyper white palisade with 15k miles for 29,500. The original owner put really nice 20 inch rims from Hyundai also new tires and had remote start installed at the dealership I finally came up this truck is amazing!!!
It’s amazing how much your review make me decide instantly how I feel about a car. This would not be for me at all, so I know Not to consider it in my car search. So helpful.
I just got a 2021 palisade SEL a few days ago and I’m so excited to see the standard features that are included and excited to hear what you think about the palisade 👍🏻❤️
Love the purse holder area! I had a Sienna for 15 yrs and just got a Kia Sorento 18 months ago- love it BUT I miss the extra space of my Sienna, and there was tons of room under the middle in that! That’s a game changer that the Palisade has that bag spot! 🙌🏻
Check out the Kia Carnival... Its best of both worlds..Its a Suv with mini van doors... Plenty of room and power... Ex trim is the sweet spot... Not too expensive but right in the middle.
Thanks for these awesome practical reviews! New mom here and trading in my small hatchback for a family sized vehicle. I appreciate what you're doing especially at a Mom/seller perspective. Buying can be intimidating and you're making it easier - Thank you!
The Extend2fit is one of the largest seats side to side. Slimmer seats would be better. Car seats come in all shapes and sizes. Also, Graco allows for 20% of overhang rear facing or forward facing.
This was so helpful! Will soon have 3 large car seats so to hear your advice and watch you try to deal with the 3rd row car seat situation was so needed. Now I can move on to other car options without feeling like I missed out.
@@kimberlywesley4796 I’ve had my Calligraphy for a couple months and I’m obsessed. By far the best I test drove as far as amenities, space, and safety. Atlas was a close-ish second.
FYI- I bought a 2022 Palisade, and the 3rd row seat install was something I specifically explored because of this review. I have a seat that is a PAIN to install forward and rear facing, and it fits and was really a simple install compared to what it was worked up to be in this review. The base of the seat fits easily without breaking the 80/20 rule. Love the reviews and information, but this one would have been better if everyone took a breath. The Palisade and Telluride are the top two SUVs in their class on the market right now, and owning one, I see why. The nicest SUVs we test drove by a long shot. Our second pick was an Atlas.
I love the 2021 atlas we just got! We got the atlas with captain seats. It has so much room for both of our kids and space for more. Plus it is just a gorgeous car! The only thing I don’t like is the gas tank size but I traded my 4 runner in for the atlas so I think I could have been use to the bigger size tank? Not sure but that’s the only thing I don’t like but I don’t know how it compares to the palisades tank.
Palisade, obviously. Capt chairs are available on the Palisade too. Palisade comes with 3yrs/36k miles of FREE maintenance. Palisade Limited is the one of the only in the segment that has a power folding third row, VW doesn’t have that. Hyundai has a better warranty as well. Smart trunk on the Palisade opens the trunk when you stand behind it and no need to do a kicking motion and look goofy doing it. Palisade also has ultrasonic rear occupant alert and will set the alarm off and send notifications to your phone if it detects movement in the car after locking it, VW doesn’t have that.
Now that the Hyundai Tucson 2022 is available and is apparently very similar in size to the Sante Fe, it'd be great to see your perspective on how functional it would be for a young family (1 kid). Love this review though! There are plenty of car reviews, but you're the only one I've found that shares the functional side of things that families need to think about in a car.
Another rounded out cross over. About as exciting as the 48 other 3 row mid sized station wagons / cross dressers. How does one find it in the mall parking lot or do you just take one that kind of looks like yours and it all evens out in the end.?
I love your tours so much. I have had my heart set on a Palisade ever since it was released and I have watched so many tours of this car thinking it was perfect for me. But as a soon to be mom of 3 in car seats I now know this absolutely would not work for me. Heartbreaking, but so helpful! Ford Expedition here I come!!
The 3rd row review on this really isn’t the best. It’s not realistic to my experience since purchasing. I took our largest and biggest pain in the butt install car seat to test drive, and I found it just as easy to install in the 3rd row forward and rear facing as in my Santa Fe.
Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat.
This might be one of my favorites so far that you’ve done so far! I love the additional car seat option info! I recently put in an order for a Kia telluride and I went with a bench for this reason... the back row isn’t really gonna fit 3 people! I’m hoping that if we have a 3rd we can fit 3 car seats across the middle
I LOVE your videos- my husband even lets me know when “my car mom” has uploaded. I would love to see a review of the Hyundai Tucson limited trim! I’m needing something 2 row- and am really interested in the updated 2022!!!
I’ve been following you for a while - love your tours!! Palisade was on our short list and thank goodness for your review! We need a 3 row that can fit forward facing car seat! Please review Subaru Ascent and VW Atlas 2021 models please!!!!!
I love my 2021 Palisade! I did the SEL with the convenience pkg AWD. I love it. I have a 9yo and an 18mo old and for our family function we got the captains chairs. We had 4 adult and 2 kids and my father-in-law (who is over 6ft tall) said he had plenty of room in the third row. But I totally agree you can’t fit 3 people back there! Mostly it’s my husband and me, our two kids and my mom so we have just the right amount of room…even for 10 hour road trip!!!
Great review, love that trunk space and access to the 3rd row! Can you review the Subaru Ascent? Would love your thoughts on it, especially vs this one.
The 3rd row middle headrest moves up and down. The outer seats don’t (I had to correct myself because my husband and I thought they did) but we could still pretty easily get a tether under it and it doesn’t stick out to interfere with our FF car seat. We had no problem installing our FF seat in the third row drivers side. It wasn’t a convertible though so it was less bulky. I just want people to know it works pretty well for a FF seat/HBB if the kiddo can buckle themselves in.
I have the premium as well and love it! If I had this trim I couldn’t handle it, my bucket seats are amazing, and I love being able to move them up and creat so much room In the 3rd row.
They’re the same car and picking between the two is purely aesthetic. If you prefer sporty and analog, Telluride. If you prefer luxury and futuristic, Palisade.
I love how you said to use the auto hold for the Starbucks drive thru. lol. I love the exterior of the palisade and al the space where the cup holders are.
The front row had me sold with all the storage and the second row seemed a bit tight with rear facing depending on the car seat. I use peg perego and it is huge. love your reviews as well.
I have the limited with captains chairs and I adore her. There’s definitely no way I’d ever be able to safely have 3 passengers in the 3rd row. But my daughters graco wayz fits well in the 3rd row. I have a britax boulevard that rear faces in the 2nd row and I have great clearance even with that.
Love this car!! I went from a Suburban for years to a Santa Fe but I miss the third row!! The leg room is so great and just enough bells and whistles. Thought I would love audiQ7 but third row was so disappointing and way too many screens.
You showed us that with a car seat not in the base, a kid might be able to get by. Would have been nice to see if the car seat was still in the base, could a kid move the row up and get back there by themselves? Otherwise a parent would have to do get out each time to take the carrier out. There's a Kia Telluride car seat video out that shows a kid doing this, but with the base on the driver's side. Because the split works differently on the bench (I think it's like a 60/40 split), I'm curious to see whether the 2nd row moves forward with 3 car seats in there and the base on the passenger side, or, would it not work because that infant carrier is hitting up against the middle car seat - and so a kid could NOT get into the back without a parent taking the carrier out. Something to keep in mind for your next car seat video on a 3 row vehicle :)
Extremely helpful! I'm just curious - since you tested both Hyundai Palisade and Kia Sorento - which one would you prefer? I'm torn between both but leaning into Kia Sorento as pricing is more affordable!
I don't like captains chairs in general but in this application it seems even worse. You essentially make the vehicle a six passenger with limited trunk space because the 3rd row must be kept up if you carry travel with 3 kids normally. To get the 2nd row bench on the SEL you need to add $5500 in options. The base model doesn't have blind spot monitor or the rear power lift gate.
I thought you were going to build one at the end? How do you feel that this compares to the Kia Telluride? Also, hoping to soon see tours of: the Chevy traverse and GMC Acadia!
It’s crazy how different the se vs sel and limited and calligraphy. I have a top level sel, and it’s amazing and so very different. I wish you could show the difference in them. We have 3 car seats in ours all Graco.
How do you feel about having 3 car seats in this car? I have a 5 year, 3 year and baby coming in June. Really struggling because I LOVE this car but I don’t know if this is the best choice.
I absolutely love it! My oldest is 6 in a high back booster in the third row. My 1 year old is rear facing behind my seat drive and the middle changed between the back and the middle captain chair. I have not had an issues. We have traveled 7 hour in it already and will be leaving in a week for a 8 hour trip.
I love this car but the market on Long Island is crazy for this car its not really affordable.. which is crazy for a Hyundai - TY for your review - Can you do a review on the Passport?
OMG, I’m looking at this video and it’s great! I just got this vehicle and I don’t have any small kids of my own. I just love the vehicle. Does anyone have this car and don’t have kids? I kinda feel like I’m outta place.🤣🤣🤣
If the kids in the back toggle the AC and forget to turn it off; you turn your front knob down to zero and back to your setting. No touch screen needed. It will turn the rear blowers off.
Wife and I just had our second little one and looking for bigger car going from our volvo xc40. Watching your reviews I'm leaning the Palisade and the Atlas. Would you go with the Atlas?
We need to use the third row often and my wife was set on the Palisade. Unfortunately, they were all sold before she could test drive one. We ended driving the Atlas and found it to be the best for comfort and room in the back. The third row is for two in the Atlas and that is what it should be if you want to put adults back there. Both my wife and I love our Atlas especially with captains chairs in the middle. Access is easy to the back and you don’t have problems with car seats.
Auto-hold!!!! I know, right !!!!!??? And, autohold feature should have an option to leave it on forever and not having to have to turn on every time we start the car. I have no idea why cars don't have that.
I’m so confused on what car to get! I currently have a 2017 pathfinder SL but I’m thinking of getting a palisade the calligraphy tier or getting a traverse. I have 2 kids both FF in graco4evers, we plan to have a third in a year or two and I know you mentioned the back row situation, so I’m not sure what to do. My oldest will be in a high back or backless booster by the time we have another which is why I think the Palisade might be better because I love the way it looks compared to the traverse but I love the size of the travers but the inside is so bland
I love the purse and cup holder too! 😍 I’m on the fence between the palisade and the ascent! Going to test drive a minivan this weekend. Decisions decisions. 🤔
Can I just say I REALLY appreciate that you did the lower trim level! As someone who is currently shopping for a new vehicle it’s so nice to see one attainable for my family. We are on a tight budget, so while the calligraphy is amazing, it’s not something I could ever swing! Thank you!

@@siddharthshivakumar4233 what did you end up choosing? I’m debating between both cars too!

Love your videos! Please do the sienna next!
I thought you were going to build one at the end?
How do you feel that this compares to the Kia Telluride?
Also, hoping to soon see tours of: the Chevy traverse and GMC Acadia!
I would love to see the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, please!!
Go on Facebook and type in Hyundai palisade owners family it’s a group and I have several post about my car seats and kids.
The smaller holder on the Second row is for baby bottles!!
I love this car but the market on Long Island is crazy for this car its not really affordable.. which is crazy for a Hyundai - TY for your review - Can you do a review on the Passport?
I just love your video! You are so funny
OMG, I’m looking at this video and it’s great! I just got this vehicle and I don’t have any small kids of my own. I just love the vehicle. Does anyone have this car and don’t have kids? I kinda feel like I’m outta place.🤣🤣🤣
Please tour a suburban. I’ll be having my 5th kid in august so I’m really looking into those. Doesn’t matter what year!
This really made my decision to get the Kia Carnival easier, even though it isn't AWD. That third row in this one just does not seem workable.
If the kids in the back toggle the AC and forget to turn it off; you turn your front knob down to zero and back to your setting. No touch screen needed. It will turn the rear blowers off.
Thanks a lot for this review. I request you to kindly review the Buick Enclave.
enclave tour going up tomorrow!!
@@TheCarMom Thanks so much for doing the review. It was very helpful!
How do you lay the third row flat and what does it look like then?
I’d love to see the telluride😍🔥
Telluride tour can be found here! ruclips.net/video/CrAlbbQhEXE/видео.html
Whats a thumbs up car for kids car seat? The toyota highlander seems even smaller
What 3rd row SUV do you suggest for 3 bigger car seats? I'm Stressed!!!!
Late to the party, but the premium package does REQUIRE the convenience package, so its not one or the other, its one or both.
my sonata had the auto hold. I miss that in my new jeep
Loving this!
08:06 I’m currently sitting on 2 buckles right now.😂😂😂
Wife and I just had our second little one and looking for bigger car going from our volvo xc40.
Do you think that there are any car seats that would work 3 across on the bench?
i have newborn triplets. what car would you recommend? is there any car out there that can fit 3 car seats, 1 single stroller and a twin stoller?
Auto-hold!!!! I know, right !!!!!??? And, autohold feature should have an option to leave it on forever and not having to have to turn on every time we start the car. I have no idea why cars don't have that.
Question, with the front facing car seat was the front seat all the way back? My song is very long and I worry about his legs being squished.
@the_car_mama which car would you prefer, to the kia telluride or this Hunday palisade suv?
I'm debating between these 2 too!!!
Love the palisade got the limited
I’m so confused on what car to get! I currently have a 2017 pathfinder SL but I’m thinking of getting a palisade the calligraphy tier or getting a traverse. I have 2 kids both FF in graco4evers, we plan to have a third in a year or two and I know you mentioned the back row situation, so I’m not sure what to do. My oldest will be in a high back or backless booster by the time we have another which is why I think the Palisade might be better because I love the way it looks compared to the traverse but I love the size of the travers but the inside is so bland
i’d like to see you review a Jeep Wrangler Sahara. love your videos.
The Auto hold is my deal breaker to choose my next car I use it daily
Love this car❤️❤️❤️❤️
palisade vs Kia carnival for 3 car seats in rear position?? what do you think?
Reviews the Lincoln Navigator and the Honda Oddsey
Car mom please compare this with the highlander, I am looking for a 3rd road SUV , having another baby .
honestly I wish the wheels were a bit smaller. I like thick sidewalls.
I love the purse and cup holder too! 😍 I’m on the fence between the palisade and the ascent! Going to test drive a minivan this weekend. Decisions decisions. 🤔
